He did one ripping into Phil Mushnick and others as well.

Eric really was telling things as he truly saw them. Doesn't mean he's not deluding himself, but he was saying what he really thinks. It wouldn't be the first time he's denied a reality that was obvious to the rest of the world.

NWO was about as good as you can expect from a brand where the fans have been conditioned to only care about four people, and everyone else is treated as second tier players, and nobody worth bothering about. And from the Old News Is So Great Dept, PWInsider brings us:
-
That counts as a second attempt then. The other flaming table clip came from an ECW six-man match that was part of a AAA/IWC(?) card. It didn't get over, because that wasn't what the fans came for.
-
You know what's just that little bit better than posting wrestling news ? Posting wrestling news from places that actually have credibility. Give it a whirl sometime.
-
IIRC, PE only tried the flaming tables gimmick once, and that was at the October 5th 1995 Arena show, when they took on The Gangsta's and Raven and Stevie Richards.

If being a worker is purely about in-ring skills, then sure, Bruno and Hogan weren't that good. But if being a worker is about drawing money, then few are better than Bruno or Hogan.

I think what makes this DVD so good is that ECW only last around 9 years, so it's story can be told comprehensively in 3hrs, not to mention most of the main players are able to be interviewed. This allows for pretty much all the major points to be hit on, and all the key events to be talked about, allowing a full picture to be shown. If they tried to do something like this for WCW, it'd either be really bad or very disappointing, because to tell a complete account would have them needing to cover the 16+ years from 1985 to 2001, and it would take at least a 6 or 7 DVD set, not including extras, to cover all that in the detail needed to do it justice.

The WWE Raw Thread for 02-21-05

The OVW site lists him as 6'4 and 265lbs. The height is about right, though from the vignette's, I'd say his closer to 280lbs right now, and it's all muscle. I'd say he should be tearing a muscle by Backlash. -
The Dudley's who were at HH '95 weren't Bubba or D-Von. Neither of them was black, for one thing. It was Dudley Dudley and Little Snot Dudley who faced the Pitbulls at that event. D-Von didn't show up until early 1996.

Shane Douglas planning ECW Reunion show

Snow was leaving for the WWF not long after, so it would have made zero sense to put the belt on him. And it was in 1998. -

You must really not have paid attention to some of the N2R events, then. -
Orton vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Matt Young's topic in The WWE Folder
Beating Angle doesn't mean as much as it might do, primarily because he's been booked so badly for the past few years. Sure, it's a boost of a sort, but it's nothing star making. Beating Shawn clean is a boost for sure, and a big one, but beating Shawn clean isn't star making either. Beating Hunter ? Well, it's already been explained why that doesn't mean as much is it should; he either gets his win back in short order, or blows the result off like it means nothing, so the people don't think it meant anything either. Why beating Undertaker clean at a WM, and ending the streak, can be star making is because there is a long and detailed story that can be built up leading to the match, and it's one that is already written for the most part. We're constantly told how Undertaker has been around for over 10 years, and if they play that up in the build up for Undertaker v Wrestler X, as well as Undertaker talking long and hard about how he has never been beaten at WM, it will make it seem very special, and it will mean something big when Undertaker finally loses at WM. Remember that Angle, Hunter, Shawn and even Undertaker have all lost clean before anyway, but only Undertaker has never been beaten at a WM, and never having lost on the biggest stage of them all is special. Being the one to take that from Undertaker is the kind of rub that nobody else can give, because nobody else at his level has never lost at a WM. -
The main event is a must see match. An easy *****, with incredible drama and heat, especially in the closing stretch. The whole emotion and intensity in the ring, and the arena, was spine tingling. Unless something very special happens later on this year, this should easily win MOTY in Japan, and probably overall as well.

JBL Reaches Modern Day Milestone

JBL's reign has, for the almost entire part, been bad for business. The WWE Title means very little with how it's been booked. -
It was in a late October 2001 edition of the Observer, and was written just before the Invasion angle came to an end.

They didn't have time. Flair left on July 2nd, and the GAB was two days later.

Destination X matches announced tonight at tapings

It's been booked by someone who still thinks it's 1998. Times change, and Dusty hasn't. It's always been a big problem of his, and, to varying degrees, everyone else in wrestling. -

Russo was very good at writing the beginning of a story, but could never write a coherent middle or ending. -

Because as well know all Mexican wrestlers always use tequila bottles as foreign objects because that's all they drink. Vince Russo has zero respect for foreigners or foreign wrestling, so I highly doubt he booked that finish for any other reason than because, in his mind, all Mexicans drink tequila. And that Pinata On A Pole match ? That wasn't racist either, I guess. -
No it's not yet. Know someone who works with him in England. His visa is "in the works" but not come through yet... Dave Meltzer says otherwise. And I'd take him over your 'source'.
