It should be noted that Eddie's problems with the pressure on top were only part of the reason they put the WWE Title on JBL. As for Benoit, while he may be a part of the World title picture on Raw, his status, as well as that of everyone else, is tempered by the fact that everyone knows the belt is going back to Hunter, and it's always going to be that way.

How "big" can you get without using roids
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to a topic in General Wrestling
About the only WWE guy in recent times that I could say with total confidence was steroid free would be Lance Storm. While there are probably others in WWE who have been steroid free, he's the only one I'd be willing to bet the farm on on being clean. As for how big they can make you, it all comes to down to a combination of hard work in the gym and genetics. You can work out 24/7 and shoot yourself full of the best steroids around, but if you're genetics are the shits, you'll not get as big as you might think you would. And it's the same with how big you can without steroids, or other supplements. You can only get as big as you're body is capable of getting, regardless of how hard you work or what you shoot up. -

WWE to tape Raw and SD back-to-back
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
That happened back in March, remember? Triple H vs. Eddie Guerrrrrrrrero? Hunter wasn't Raw Champion when that match happened. And that match and ending got over huge with the live crowd, hence why they should do it again for the live crowd, so they might want to sit through a 4hr taping. -
WWE to tape Raw and SD back-to-back
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
They better have one hell of a dark match to keep people staying for that length of time. As the nobody takes the split seriously, I recommend Raw Champion v SD Champion, with a DDQ finish, and have everyone from both rosters brawling away to end things. -
Off the Run for the Rumble deal was an awesome angle where Damaja attacked Rocky Johson, leading to Jim Ross doing an interview over the phone with Cornette, where JR suspends Damaja. Damaja was meant to be in the Rumble, but when he got taken out, they had to explain why he wasn't going to be in it after winning the RftR. After the JR interview, Damaja and Jackie come out, bags in hand, and Damaja cuts a blistering promo, where he runs down everyone under the sun, before quitting OVW, and he and Jackie storm out of the side door, and into the night. Also recommended is the October 2003 episode with Jim Cornette confronting John Laurinitus.

If you want to know why the No Mercy main event isn't there, it's probably because Meltzer didn't give a rating for it for some reason. He does call it an awesome match, but says the finish was flat because the attention was on Vince while the finish was going down.

Brock Lesnar Ready To Make WWE Return?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Make no mistake about it, WWE want Brock back, but they want him back on their terms, not his. All this talk about not wanting him back, etc, is just their way of letting him know that they're not going to come him with open arms, and that he'll, probably literally, have to come begging to them. Brock isn't in great financial shape right now. He's not broke by any means, but he's spent a lot of the money he made in WWE, and he's going to be needing a new income eventually. And when that time comes, one of the options he'll undoubtedly pursue is WWE, and then they'll start talks, and you can bet he won't be getting the same level of money he got before. -
Except then they'd be spitting in the faces of the fans who are still willing to buy tickets to house shows. Not that WWE wouldn't do it anyway, but it's a bad idea to begin with. Wouldn't that make house show attendance go up a bit in the hopes of actually seeing a title change? When I say spin it, I meant in reality you have Cena get bopped in the head w/ the belt but the announcers can scream Bloody Murder and how Heel X stopped at NOTHING to win the championship . . . not necessarily lying but a grose exaggeration. Unfortunately, the last time they changed a title on a house show, when Booker dropped the IC belt to Christian, it was barely put over at all. If the goal of a title change at a house show is to try and get people to go to them in the hopes of seeing a title change, first off, the title has to be important, secondly, they have to have pictures or handheld video of the change, to show that it happened just as they said, and thirdly, they have to push the holy hell out of it on TV, and scream like crazy that the people who skipped the show missed out on something historic, and that they shouldn't do that the next time WWE is in town. Such attention to detail is foreign to WWE today, so I don't see a house show title change meaning anything, even if they did do it. By the way, in early 2003, The Rock made an unadvertised appearance at a house show doing a run-in to make the save for a babyface. If WWE didn't push that thing to the moon on TV as a way to get people to house shows, they're not pushing anything.

If they are intent on the super push for Cena, no way is he doing any kind of pinfall job, no matter how screwy, that close to Mania.
-
At least a tournament would give something for them build SD around. It might also allow for some much needed character development.
-
If they are going to keep the super push for Cena going, then I don't see Cena dropping the title in the ring. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep the title until WM XXI, and play off of the fact that he is the US Champion in his feud with JBL. Then, when Cena wins the SD Title at WM, he vacates the US Title, and it's tournament time.
-
The current plan is Bradshaw dropping the title to Cena at WM. The plan before that was for Bradshaw to hold it until SummerSlam, but Heyman managed to get Vince to change that. However, with Heyman gone, and his ideas not in fashion anymore, things may change.
-
yeah, that is what they said last year, but Vince also added if any champion was drafted to the other show, they lose their belt. Going by that, how would Cena and Orton hold on to their belts if they are drafted? I suppose they could have either champion threaten to quit if they're stripped of their title. That way, it gives a storyline reason for them to back to the tired old Champion v GM angle.
-
I'm sure a creative and intelligent angle can be crafted to explain why both 'World' Champions are in the draft, though we'll probably just get a lame "Everyone's in the draft, including the 'World' Champions" line.

Brock Lesnar Ready To Make WWE Return?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
If Brock's leaving left SD with no main event heels, that's not entirely his fault. It's also the fault of the people booking, that there was nobody credible ready to take his place. Had there been a bevy of people ready and able to step into that spot, who the fans would have accepted, then SD wouldn't be in the state it is. Also, Brock first told Vince he wanted out on the second to last SD taping before WM XX. -
The plan is for Orton and Cena to come out of WM XXI as World Champions, swap brands in the lottery, with Orton getting a lengthy reign on SD, and Cena, well, he'll be on Raw, so you know the deal there. Very informative WO this week.

He didn't work 'main event style'. It was the same excuse given to bury anyone coming in that certain people didn't want to let get over. If someone wrestled in something other than the 'main event style', it was an excuse for people to claim they couldn't work, and so that person would get buried. It's the typical insular mentality, where anything that isn't done their way is automatically wrong, regardless of whether it actually is.
-
Not only is the booking worse than in this time last year, but even what they do have booked doesn't leave me all that keen to keep turning in. Things might change, what with ideas being 'set in stone', only to be scrapped on a whim, but I don't see anything on the immediate horizon that makes me think that 2005 will be any good, creatively, in WWE.
