Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

Please explain to me how he has to help HHH? Each person gets to manage RAW for one week on the winning team. All he has to do to have his title shot is for his team to win. Sure it is Hunter's team, but the stipulation applies to the winning team. Hence, they all can screw HHH over and eat their cake too. Well, if they blatantly screw Hunter over and let him get beaten, do you not think he'll use his week of power to get back at them ?

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

Considering he's letting it be protrayed that his own team is gunning his ass, I'd say yes. And it wouldn't make any sense for them to make sure that he stays in the match at all. Why? All of his team mates want to gun him. If you are going to gun him, you have to make sure you can justifiably stand up on your own. Having HHH there means that you don't stand at his level, since HHH is the Cerebral Assassin and can almost always get the job done. By hanging him Saving him at the last second wouldn't be more logical. If everyone of them is gunning him, then they'd want to humiliate him and make him be paranoid by the fact that they didn't need him at all to win the match and that by beating the opposition, they are all on his level (since the opposing guys are Main Event Calibre, except Maven, but I expect him gone before or after Hunter). I can only see possibly Batista helping him, as I doubt either Snitsky or Edge would bother helping the guy they will be facing later on for a title shot. I mean, seriously, would you help the guy you are going to later face? I know sure as hell I wouldn't. It isn't illogical for them to lose the guy if the WWE seriously wishes to push the guys as gunning HHH. Coinsidering whoever gets first shot at HHH will want him to be softened up. If they keep Hunter in the match as long as possible, not only do they make him help take out the opposing team, but they can also be seen to laugh as Hunter gets beaten up. And if Hunter gets beaten up for a prolonged period, with intermittent saves, it softens him up for any future title matches. And that does make sense, even in WWE. If Hunter brings up that they only did it because they need him, then they just laugh in his face, and tell him they just needed him to take all the damage. If I wanted him softend up for a title shot I was soon to be getting, I'd help him survive for as long as possible, while letting him get beaten up for a while beforehand. Look at KotR 2001, when Shane McMahon helped Kurt Angle into the finals even though he was facing him later that night. He hated Kurt, but helped him out still. Why ? Because he was softening him up. It might not be illogical, but it still portrays Hunter as someone that even his own team can't stand, and Hunter would never let himself look that weak, even it did make sense. And if they want him softened up, my scenario makes more sense, because he takes more punishment.

What kind of man is John Bradshaw Layfield?

I'll take my chances. Amongst other things.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

Do you seriously think Hunter will let himself be portrayed as someone that his own team would willingly allow to be beaten ? Not to mention that it would make more sense for them to keep Hunter in the match, and let him help them get rid of a couple of guys before they hang him out to dry. A more logical version of your storyline would be for his team to let him get beaten up and save him at the last second, so they keep the numbers advantage. For them to allow their team to lose a guy is totally illogical, even for WWE.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

About the only thing that is guaranteed is Huner isn't going out first. Not a chance in hell, no matter the booking.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

I don't think people saw Vince putting the WWE Title on a, at that time, uncharismatic and unover midcarder called Bradshaw either.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

If they do do that, and it's way too soon to repeat that kind of thing, then Orton will wind up winning, because he'll look like Superman for fighting back against such odds to win it all for his team.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

If Team Steroids win, then Hunter is getting the winning pin. Count on it.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

If they want him to headline WM XXI, he can't do a lot of pinfall jobs, and he just did one to Flair, so I don't see him doing another one here. Maybe just before the Rumble he can do one, to set something up for there, but not here. Orton isn't doing a pinfall job, or they really are clueless.

Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

I've gone through some Observers around HH '97, and there isn't anything in them about Savage tearing his ACL doing the leap. I can see Shawn gutting it out, because of his work ethic and pride, but I don't think Savage had that, at least not enough to wrestle for 8 months before getting the surgery. Savage had nothing major going on at the time, so it would have been the perfect time for him to get the surgery done. Plus, with a guarantee of $1m+, he'd have had no incentive to keep going when he could take the time off, and still get a fat wad of cash.

Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

Savage tore his ACL on March 30th of 1998. He was wrestling a dark match against Sting at a Saturday Night taping, and blew his knee out then. I don't think he tore it at Havoc, or he'd have taken the time off long before then.

Raw to return to the "HHH Rules Everyone" Format?

If Team Steroids wins, and it's because Maven turns heel, then I could see them maybe trying to turn Snitsky face by screwing him out of his week of control, and giving it to Maven as a reward.

Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

I think it was at least 12-15 feet, legit. And I don't think he tore his ACL in that match. He was wrestling in January of the next year, and no way he'd have been doing that if he had torn his ACL doing the jump.

Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

He hasn't wrestled since 1985, so why should he start now. I just think it would make for great tv to put them in the ring together, because of Elizabeth.

    Torch Column on TNA

I also disagree with this. I can't see how Randy could possibly think this would help his standing in WWE. Just doesn't make sense. Hogan punked him out. Plain and simple. You're thinking logically. You need to think Macho-ese, oh yeah! Hogan did the same sort of thing last year, negotiating with TNA and even shooting an angle for them, when he had no intention of ever wrestling there. That too was just a ploy to try and get Vince to call him up. I think it was the same thing here as well. And, like with Hogan's attempt, it'll fail.

Maybe they can put Savage and Luger in the ring together. That'd be fun.

    Hashimoto leaves Zero One

I believe he had a falling out with management over the way he was being pushed. He wasn't happy with what they were doing with him, so he walked. There was talk of him returning in the past, but because whoever it was he wasn't happy with was still there, I presume that to be Inoki, he never did.

Randy Savage to come back!!! (Joy!)

What short term help have they gotten so far ? Their top babyfaces were made to look like jokes, two of whom were the new tag team champions. They had to rewrite a tv show that was being taped later that day when one of the has-beens walked out on them. The guy who was getting good pops from the Florida fans, who is one of their only shots at making a homegrown star, was made to seem secondary to a broken down leatherface, who can't work a match without spending all day writing it out and faxing it to everyone involved. What short term gain have TNA gotten from making their own stars look like jokes ?

OAO Best Damned Wrestling Event Ever Thread

That guy from Survivor, who faked his grandmother dying and other assorted heel tactics.

    Smackdown...one and only...blah.

I think Team Orton v Team Steroids should go 25 minutes at the most. Any longer than that, and certain people will get exposed. Of course, if a certain someone wants those people exposed, then we'll get longer.

    Hashimoto leaves Zero One

I like Ohtani, and am a huge fan of his, but he's not someone who can carry a company. I would say that Ogawa could have been someone to try and build around, but that seems highly unlikely, what with his PRIDE stuff and the other baggage that comes with Ogawa. Is Hashimoto definitely going back to New Japan ? Might he visit All Japan again first ?

Old school shows of the week #5

Windham v Pillman was way too short, but good while it lasted. Sting and Luger v Steiner was fun. Eaton v Anderson was really good. but the camera work at the end was fucking shit, because they missed the pinfall. Flair v Fujinami was fun as well.

    Most boring matches ever?

Really? I thought it was a massive improvement over their match at IYH a month earlier. -=Mike I've tried to watch that match over and over again, but each time I try, I fall asleep half way through. I'll give it one more try when I get the time, and see if I can manage it this time. They thought the match was dark, so they worked a house show level match, thinking they'd get a chance to work a PPV level version when they repeated some of the matches at the Superstars taping the following Tuesday.

    Savage already gone from TNA

The latest Meltzer update says TNA are Savage are negotiating for him to return, and that it is expected to happen. You may commence laughing.

Bulldog v Shawn at KotR 1996. I can't watch that match without falling asleep.
