At the 1990 Survivor Series. I like the idea, and was disappointed it never happened again. And it was actually a regular elimination match that they competed in.

I might see Edge as being a reluctant team mate with Evolution for SS, but I don't see him becoming their fourth member. His new persona doesn't really fit in well the the Evolution group. I think at this point Maven seems like he might be the new member. Is there anyone else it could be apart from Maven or Edge ?

Got an answer from Meltzer about HBK/Foley's match
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
At one point it was in the plans, because they shot promotional pictures of Hogan and Bret both holding the WWF Title belt, and WWF didn't do that sort of thing at that time if it wasn't a solid plan. -
At the '97 Rumble, and Phineus Godwin throwing some of the worst punches in the history of wrestling at Crush, I think. They missed by a mile, and it was painfully obvious.

I just watched the Bret v Yoko cage match off the Inside The WWF tape, and I'd rate that ****. It was a very good cage match, and I thought Bret was very smart in working around Yoko's limitations in this one.

I asked Dave Meltzer about the story of Austin allegedly being booked to win the Fatal Four Way, and it's not true. Bret was always meant to win it. -
Did anyone else spot the Crippler Crossface-like crossface that Bobbish did about 4 and half minutes into his fight ? And Jackson v Silva was excellent stuff, and a real FOTY candidate.

I'm sure he did, look at Sunny back then, and then look at his wife. No doubt about it. Gotta love that narrowmindedness. As for whether it was true or not, I don't think it was, if only for the fact that something like this would have leaked out long ago, due to who was involved.

Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in The WWE Folder
He came back as Lita's mystery partner against Shane and Steph, and chased Shane out of the ring, and all over the arena, before cornering him in the ring, where some face was at the time, and wound up chokeslamming the face to turn heel. -
What's he going to pay the bribe with ? Stridex pads ?

TNA won't pay for Jushin Liger's plane flight...

Hall and Nash are going to no-show, and will be found in a drunken stupor on the floor of the local Fall And Crawl tavern. -

TNA to run a bus to Victory Road from Nashville
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to cmpunk04's topic in TNA Wrestling
Providing a quality product that lots of people want to pay to see would seem the obvious solution to that problem. -
Michaels v Hart at WM XII. Not a bad match, but I found it to be tedious as hell. Hunter v Michaels at Bad Blood. 45 minutes of repetitive spots that we've seen a million times before, that never led to anything. The crowd might have cheered Michaels afterwards, but they were on their hands for almost all of that borefest.

A major factor in the Rumble buy rate will be Randy Orton. It's pretty obvious that with Randy having 'lost' any more chances at the Raw Title, that he's going to get his WM XXI match against Hunter by either winning the Rumble, or by losing Rumble due to some big screwjob, and then having to earn the shot at a Raw or No Way Out. The key to how that affects the Rumble is how over they can get Orton and his quest to win the Rumble in the run-up to the event. Right now, Orton isn't over to anywhere close to where his quest for the Rumble, or anything else for that matter, will draw a big buy rate. If they can somehow get him over to where the fans really want him to win the Rumble, and they genuinely think he can win it, then that will overcome almost any damage that will be done by the number of PPV's, and overall quality of the product. And I believe Unforgiven did in the low 200,000 range.

Those look like reasonable estimates. SS will be lucky to get in the high end of your guess range, both due to a glut of PPV's, and no matches on the card that can draw a big buy. Armageddon and the Puerto Rican PPV will probably do even worse than Taboo Tuesday, because they're 'B' shows and are too close together. The Rumble could do in the range you suggest, but I think it will probably be in the lower end. I think certain people are underestimating the damage that having so many PPV's will do to the Rumble buy rate, regardless of the novelty value it has. Of course, those same people will also insist the Rumble will do the same 580,000 buys it did last year, while ignoring the fact that the PPV climate has changed and business is down. Why do you keep posting on this subject when it's already been proven that you have no idea what you're talking about? Seriously. This from the guy/girl who hasn't contributed anything to the thread beyond some lame namecalling and not much else. When you can make posts that are more than one-dimensional attempts at trolling, feel free to contribute. Until then, it's you who should stop posting.

If Liger was putting Jarrett over, TNA would have paid for his flight. -

I think SSeries will get maybe 275,000 at the most, with it probably hitting the 240-260,000 range.
-
Armageddon: 195,000 Puerto Rican PPV: 165,000 Royal Rumble: 235,000 The Rumble will get WAYYYY more than 235,000 buys. Probably 100-150 thousand more. Armageddon, if well built, could break 200,000 and that's a good estimate for the Puerto Rican PPV considering it's on a fuckin Wednesday. You think the Rumble will get 335,000 to 385,000 buys ?
-
190,000 is about a 0.34. If you think the Rumble will do "300,000 easy", you're in fantasy land. It might get close, but no way will it do 300,000.

Then I guess you don't keep up with their finances. Considering the XFL (2001-2002) and World (2002-2003) are off the books, in addition to Wrestlemania XX bringing nearly $30 million (shady on the figure) to the company, they're going to turn a higher profit than either year. Just a shame that those were one-off occurances. Wrestling revenue is down.

$34.95 according to DirecTV. Though it can rise to $40 or so, depending on how you order.
