Right wingers will claim voter fraud if you say Chavez was democratically elected. They *hate* Chavez. The Bush admin did help with a coup to try to overthrow him, so he might have good reason to think that they might try to assassinate him. His ties with Castro do make me uneasy, but it seems like the people of Venezuela love him. Oh, and he called Bush a "dickhead", or the Spanish equivalent. This is one of my favorite quotes I've ever read about the situation in Venezuela.

I don't like the involvement of PACs and 527s in elections and would like further electoral finance reform, but what are you gonna do? Do you have a problem with moveon in general or all PAC/527s? Also, I find the Cindy Sheehan bickering and the whole media spotlight on her annoying. However, I do feel like the questions she has raised to Bush, "Why are we in Iraq? Why did my son die?"--are pertinent. I find it especially ironic that conservatives decry the media attention that she gets and then they won't shut up about her. Clark was very green in politics in 04. He will be much more seasoned by 08. Right now he's working as an analyst for Faux News so maybe he'll build up a reputation with its esteemed audience. I don't think he's said that he didn't want to run again. I think I could get behind a Clark bid. I would prefer Russ Feingold, but he just went through a divorce so a run seems unlikely.
