    Election 2008

He was FIRED as a general. That's part of his resume that gets ignored. Clinton removed him, There is a reason that happened. -=Mike "One lingering question about General Clark's résumé is why his NATO tour came to an abrupt end in 2000. He was not fired by the White House, as some accounts have suggested. Rather, former officials of the Clinton administration say, his tour was cut short by Defense Secretary William S. Cohen and Gen. H. Hugh Shelton, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who were still smarting over their differences with the NATO commander." http://www.nytimes.com/2003/10/03/politics...6&ex=1083384000

    How Will Arafat be remembered?

Do you think there is really a chance that a moderate leader will come to power? And even then, the influence of the terrorist groups is so strong.

Pullups are the bee's knees. You can do wide-grip pullups for your lats (back), close grip for arms/back, and reverse (with your palms facing toward you) for your biceps. Just make sure you go all the way up, all the way down, and go down slowly.

    Election 2008

I think he sucks. Plus he was endorsed by Madonna and Mikey Moore so that's -2 out of the box.

Yet these are probably the same pseudo-hippies that claim the death penalty doesn't perform the same thing... http://www.deathpenaltyinfo.org/article.ph...did=167#STUDIES Is there evidence that is does deter violent crime? Yup. The perp doesn't commit it again after being executed. -=Mike Ah, brilliant. I would expect nothing less. I actually think rotting away in prison for life would be worse than the death penalty. We just need to make prisons a whole lot shittier. That way at least if evidence comes out later that the perpetrator was innocent at least they're not dead already. If it was worse --- why do so many perps bend over backwards to get life instead of the death penalty? You'd think they'd beg for the death penalty, if life in prison is SO much worse. -=Mike Yeah, maybe you're right. I just know for me, life in prison seems worse. I can only speak for myself, though.

That's not the basis of my argument. If I had the choice of being put out of my misery or sitting around and getting rammed in the caboose all day I'd choose the former. Plus, with life sentences, you don't accidentally kill an innocent person. If evidence comes out later that they're innocent, you can get them out of prison--you can't bring them back from the dead. That being said, I would support the death penalty for someone who we are absolutely positive is guilty of doing all sorts of terrible things--like a Saddam Hussein.

    Nader attempts to challenge results

So, in conclusion, what was the problem with the exit polls? 1. Kerry voters as a whole were oversampled a. Women voters were oversampled (and tend to go for Kerry) b. Republicans were undersampled 2. Exit polls are unreliable 3. Vast Left Wing Conspiracy to manipulate the exit poll numbers I guess if you throw enough crap at the wall it will eventually stick.

I would support that. I would support that, too. I want clean elections. I don't care if it benefits my side or the bad guys. The VOTE isn't the problem. The vote was fine and dandy. The POLLS are. -=Mike There's a lot of these...

I was joking. I was playing on the fact that Mike seems to think that only the other side is capable of chicanery.

This phD suggests that the exit polls might, as you so eloquently put it, "mean shit." http://www.legjoints.com/AmericanElectionF...lained-exit.pdf 1) Ph.D's have an unending capacity for buying into idiotic theories. 2) Any statistician worth his or her salt would say that the actual vote totals are more legit than exit polls. If the vote was hacked, you'd have seen a definite pattern to it --- and you'd have to have thousands of people involved and keep it quiet (since you'd have to have county AND state officials on board with this --- and anybody they asked and who refused had to not say anything). -=Mike Did you even read the article? What was the idiotic theory? The article didn't have anything to do with fraud--it just showed that the exit polls would be hard to eff up. Speaking of idiotic theories, did you hear that liberal groups spun the exit polls?
