According to my actuarial tables, Slayer sucks 97% of the time.
-
I want to use one of my votes to vote against Slayer.

What about the little girl burned by napalm?

Well, I'm sure they could appeal to other minorities. I mean, if she wasn't using her demagoguery to imply that all Arab-Americans are somehow less American than small-town folk, she might get some more support from there. I mean, just as a start. Arab and Asian Americans used to be pretty reliably Republican.

I'm the exact opposite, my wife and I are going to a party but I'd rather be at my computer scouring exit polls and shit.

Yes, that was another major factor that fueled Ahamadinejad's victory.

But Jingus, you're ignoring the fact that Iran was quite helpful initially with the war in Afghanistan and offered huge diplomatic concessions to the US in 2003. The Bush administration's ridiculous approach to Iran fucked all this up, and it all went down the drain in 2005 with the election of the hardline conservative Ahmadinejad (with the Iranian public probably driven toward support of this douchebag by the Bush administration's rhetoric). Now we have two hardline administrations in place and have seen absolutely zero progress on the nuclear issue in the past years. No serious foreign policy analyst--liberal internationalist, realist, whatever--thinks that the Bush/McCain approach to diplomacy with Iran is the right one. That's why you see crazy shit like Republican Senators Lugar and Hagel endorsing Obama's foreign policy.

I disagree with both Dobbs and Bacon. Dobbs--The Iranian Revolution was at least partially a result of the Operation AJAX, the US backed overthrow of nationalist leader Mohammed Mossadegh in the 1950s. C-Bacon--Saying that Islamic terrorism is solely a result of Western meddling in the Middle East is overly simplistic. I would agree that Western intervention is one of several to many factors that has fueled terror.

Well, then, what you consider "immigration reform," most members of your political party would call "amnesty." So your taking issue with pbone above was kind of silly.
-
This is, from my understanding, what the McCain-Kennedy bill proposed in '06 would have done. The one for which McCain was lambasted by the right as "Captain Amnesty" and "Juan McCain".

Um, look at 61.

If I lived in NY, I think I would vote for Obama on the WFP or Liberal party ticket.
-
No, your public demands more!

I think many of us are ignoring what is, I think, truly the most important issue of this campaign:
-
Most recent poll I could find on issue: http://pollingreport.com/immigration.htm We're gonna have to hire a whole team of factcheckers just to deal with BruiserKC's opuses here. Whew, I can only do so much.

Also, in that interview from when Obama was a law professor, I'm pretty sure the "redistributive change" he's talking about means redistribution of power, not money. But either way, he didn't say what the right-wing talking heads are saying he said.

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Women who were accused of being witches were hung and burned in the same fashion way before the KKK was using it against black people. So I guess you're wrong. In the 16th and 17th centuries, mainly in Europe. Lynching occurred in the 20th century, actually in Kentucky.

You clearly don't remember the San Francisco Witch Trials of 1963.
