Gore basically coasted by on his father's name for the early part of his career too. And I say that as someone who likes Gore.

Here are a bunch of fun, but ultimately meaningless, head to head polls from Rassmussen.

I'm a big fan of anything Joe Rogan does, actually. http://www.joerogan.net/main.php

Did I miss something here? Didn't this bipartisan group advocate for a withdrawal? I'd think Feingold would be jumping for joy that an independent voice is calling for exactly what he wanted. No, they definitely didn't call for what Feingold wants. And what would that be? A shiney new bicycle? A Red Rider B-B Gun? An X-Box 360? Or the withdrawal of American soldiers from Iraq? Because the report definitely called for one of those things. Timetable for withdrawal by '07.

Pretty lame. But it was fun to drink beer in front of my principal & some of the teachers that used to teach me. I work at the school that I went to.

This thread has led to conflicting feelings about Mole. For a while there, I was down on Mole. When I found out about his ebay shenanigans and such. But then came bob barron & Leena. And then I liked Mole again. The guy that I don't like is this Mike character.

Man, I'm like the king of the obscure video game. I loved this one. We played it on Sega Channel.

If Evan Bayh wins a single primary, I will change my username to Peacenik J. Treehugger. Also, Romney was pro-choice, but flip-flopped and is now pro-life. Plus, he wears the magic underwear and thinks Jesus proselytized in America (sorry, Mormons, but the magic underwear are funny!). About 50% of evangelicals have said they won't vote for a Mormon. Plus, I would guess that people probably lie a lot on questions like that that ask about bias.

William Perry supported military action, too. And the Baker op-ed was 2002, not 2003.
-
Um, our lord & savior Jim Baker wrote an op-ed ENDORSING the war back in 2003. And we are supposed to be led to salvation by this guy who exercised tremendously bad judgment then? Please. Would it have killed them to include one person who vocally opposed the war? Because they sure as fuck made someone who vocally supported the debacle the chair of the study group. The membership of the study group was not respresentative of the public consensus that has emerged on the war, and the report reflects that, tacitly supporting a continued US presence in Iraq. Why? Because only "serious" folks like Baker, John McCain, or Joe Lieberman are taken seriously in the media & in conventional wisdom with respect to foreign policy despite the fact that their policies have proved undeniably distastrous failures. Howard Dean was right. Nancy Pelosi was right. Hell. Dennis fucking Kucinich and fat Mikey Moore were right. France was right. Yet for some reason the neoconservative Kool-Aid gang are still treated like the Grand Wise Men of Washington. When in any sane world they would be laughed the fuck off my teevee, the op-ed pages of any major newspaper outside of the New York Post, & relegated to diatribes in the American Spectator & on freerepublic.com. Or the Pit.

These kind of lists that happen on a lot on this message board. -
I could be wrong. Which ones opposed the war, Jerk?

Feingold said it better than I can:
-
Well, the country should care more about what I (or people who opposed the war in general) think. Because every single person on this list was wrong on the Iraq war in 2003.

This DailyKos straw poll might be a good indication of how the "liberal netroots" are leaning now. Feingold (and to a lesser extent, Mark Warner) bowing out has really shaken things up. It's funny to me that Mike Gravel is beating Chris Dodd in this poll. Personally, the top 3 in this poll would also be my top 3 (with Obama 3rd...and that's if Gore doesn't get involved). I voted for Wesley Clark. I will try to find a similar Republican poll, but there really isn't one conservative web hub like DailyKos on the right. Who is currently your favorite 2008 candidate? Tom Vilsack 1% 204 votes Bill Richardson 4% 785 votes Barack Obama 28% 4703 votes John Kerry 1% 292 votes Mike Gravel 0% 89 votes John Edwards 28% 4776 votes Christopher Dodd 0% 79 votes Hillary Clinton 5% 879 votes Wesley Clark 26% 4469 votes Joe Biden 1% 194 votes Evan Bayh 1% 257 votes
