The Agent of Oblivion question of the day

Mine was toward the end of 8th grade. I went with a rich girl with large breasts named Kristen. We played golf. I had taken up golf, as far as I can remember, to be able to date the hot rich girls in the school. By about 9th grade, I had given up golf because it is boring and tedious and realized that I was no longer interested in these girls because of their vapidity

Despite my killer Sukarno joke, if I'm actually going to have to pick a dictator I would actually have to agree with Czech on Napoleon. He actually had a positive impact in some respects and wasn't a total psychopath like a lot of these other guys. The Napoleonic Code brought standardized Roman-style law to the parts of Europe that he conquered, and he promoted military officers and civil servants based on merit rather than patronage or nobility. I would have rather lived under Napoleon's rule than under that of the Ancien Regime.

    4,000 dead Americans

So the British medical journal Lancet put out a study that estimated that 655,000 Iraqis have died as a result of the war since 2003. I don't know if that's right or not, but I do think these blog posts are funny (via here): 1. 655,000 is an awfully big number. That would mean that this war killed a whole lot of people. (Jane Galt) 2. If 770 extra people were dying in Iraq every day, why don't we hear about them on the news? (Gateway Pundit) 3. The study was published before the election. (Instapundit) (Political Pitbull) 4. The peer-reviewed paper must be bogus because the editor of the Lancet goes to anti-war rallies. (Anti-Idiotarian Rotweiler) 5. The pre-invasion death rates are too low. Surely, Saddam was filling mass graves two months before the invasion. (Chuck Simmins) 6. Those peacenik scientists wish there were more dead Iraqis. ("When the statistics announced by hospitals and military here, or even by the UN, did not satisfy their lust for more deaths, they resorted to mathematics to get a fake number that satisfies their sadistic urges," Omar Fadil.) 7. I just know the study's wrong, but I can't figure out how. Math people? (Michelle Malkin) 8. Sure the study's methodology is standard for public health resesarch. But don't forget that public health is a leftwing plot. (Medpundit) 9. These "statisticians" say that you can take a small sample from a large population and learn a lot about the whole population. As if. I'll believe those 665,000 Iraqis are dead when they tell me so. (Tim Blair)

I couldn't decide if Tyler Perry was more of a director or playwright, so I'm creating a 15th category of "most brilliant individual of all time."

    Underappreciated quotations

From Eugene V. Debs' speech at his sentencing hearing, where he was convicted and given 10 years in prison and permanently disenfranchised for giving antiwar speeches:

Listen, what are you implying by asking that question? I don't know you. Don't pretend that we know each other. Everybody knows me. I'm a legend around these parts. You wish you knew me, then you'd be all like "I know The Thread Killer." But you don't.

The No Holds Barred Folder Sucks Dick

What about all the dumbfucks who thought the "Leena takeover" was real? I went into the chat one time and some of these turds were in there speculating about it. I'm pretty sure EHME was involved, as expected, and maybe Cena's Writer or somebody like that. (Oh and don't think we're forgetting about you bitch teddy bears who sucked up to Leeter, but you've already been excoriated.)
