Oops, fixed. At least Stieb got his no-no eventually. That would be too cruel if he didn't.

Forza 2 is alright, but it wasn't much more than a diversion from some of the better racing sims out there. It's not a game I'd buy, as it's lacking in content, it doesn't control as well and doesn't do as good a job of simulating speed. The best part of the game is definitely the car customization options, because as seen above, there's quite a bit of nifty things you can do with the paintjob/decals. If you're a big fan of the genre it's worth playing, otherwise maybe not.

Toronto's Dustin McGowan throws 8 innings of no hit baseball and gives up a hit to a bum in the 9th Toronto pitchers have the worst luck with that stuff. Dave Stieb had his infamous 8 2/3 IP no hitter, Halladay did the same to the Tigers back in 1998 I think, Shaun Marcum had a no hitter through 6 earlier this year before getting pulled, only to throw another 4 innings of no hit ball in his next start.

The talking heads don't know anything about the Leafs. Dregger was the only one who even knew that Raycroft was a huge problem last year. It sucks that they lost out on their pick this year, but they needed a goalie, badly. Next year is a stronger draft anyway, and they'll have their first rounder for that.
-
Cherepanov dropping so low makes me sad that the Leafs didn't get their pick this year
-
Toronto doesn't get their pick as SJ traded it to St. Louis. Oh well, it's all worth it for a serviceable goalie.
-
Bell is a former 20 goal scorer who had an off-year last season, so he's not a bad pickup either. I think after this trade, the Leafs will have around $6.5 million left before hitting the salary cap, so there's enough for a big time UFA signing. If they pawn McCabe off on some sucker, that'll be another 5.75 million minus the salaries of whoever they get back.
-
We'll take your 10th round pick in 2012.
-
Yes yes yes yes yes. Now to dump McCabe so they can sign Briere and Drury. Hell, they can field the same team as last year with Toskala in net, and comfortably make the playoffs.

I wasn't using that as justification to eat meat. Some of these people refuse to eat meat because they think animal life is precious and shouldn't be killed for food. If vegetables have the same problem, even if the motives behind the killings are different, there's a contradiction there. Any way you slice it, the animals die to get the food to the table. Unless the ethical vegans/vegetarians personally make sure all of the food they eat is produced in such a way that no life is being harmed in the process. And well, good luck.
-
How many animals are killed as a by-product of harvesting vegetables and grain, protecting crops, etc? Not to mention insects, which is life all the same. I'd say veganism for ethical reasons is pretty laughable knowing that. Although if people want to subscribe to those beliefs and not be a prick about it, c'est la vie.

The first series of games were action RPGs, not unlike PSO. Not bad, but the games were too short on account of Bandai's cash grab idea of releasing four separate games instead of the 1 or 2 it should have been. -

Diablo multiplayer only supported up to 8 people per game I think it was, and it didn't have a persistent world. It would just be considered a "multiplayer RPG". MMO typically entails a persistent world with many players. -
Well, you could say that since Bonds entire latter career is a fraud, he doesn't belong on the all-star team. That'll never happen though. Teamz AL C - Jorge Posada 1B - Justin Morneau 2B - BJ Upton SS - Carlos Guillen 3B - Alex Rodriguez OF - Vladimir Guerrero OF - Magglio Ordonez OF - Ichirio Suzuki DH - David Ortiz SP - Dan Haren NL C - Russ Martin 1B - Prince Fielder 2B - Chase Utley SS - Jose Reyes 3B - Miguel Cabrera OF - Matt Holliday OF - Carlos Lee OF - Ken Griffey Jr. DH - Albert Pujols SP - Jake Peavy Wow, the NL OF sucks this year. Too many underachievers.

It'll be interesting to see how it's handled, given that it's so close to release and given Rockstar's status in the video game world. If they choose to edit it down to an M rating, it'll be significantly delayed and cost them more. If they release it as is, they would almost certainly face some consequences. If they appeal to the ESRB they'll get exactly no where. Even if they were to take it to court, that would take a while, so it really doesn't change anything. In any case, it sets a terrible precedent. There is no argument for censorship of this sort. The content is fictional, real crimes are not being committed during the making of these games, and no one is being exploited or harmed during the making of them. The whole situation is ridiculous, especially when you consider the difference in the age limit between an M and AO game is ONE YEAR. Clearly games for 17+ year olds are fine and dandy, but if it's for 18+ year olds, it deserves to be banned. It's shameful.

One needs experience with the genre to see the appeal of WoW. MMOs provide people the opportunity to play a character in a huge world, with thousands of other people. WoW just takes that format and gives people a lot more to do compared to its predecessors. Most MMORPGs thats came before WoW were sorely lacking in content, which meant people spent their time grinding against monsters to advance their characters. WoW has a lot of quests that people can do, so advancing the character isn't such a boring grind. Given that games like EverQuest were as successful of as they were despite being an incredibly long and boring grind, it's no surprise that WoW has garnered a large following given that it's much more friendly in that regard. It appeals to the casuals and hardcore alike, not just the latter like many earlier MMORPGs, and that gives it a large pool of possible consumers. -
Yes, the kiddy reputation, and also not being flexible with regards to 3rd parties. The AO rating isn't a big deal, but the BBFC situation is wholly unreasonable. It's their job to rate games, not tell people what they can and can't play. If not rating a game means it can't be sold, that's exactly what they're doing, and it's inarguably wrong. Given the content of the game, I can't imagine too many people trying to fight for it in the legal sense, even if its treatment is unethical.
-
The villagers look and act like zombies, so it's not a big deal really. It seems like more of an action game because the control isn't as awful at it was in the first few games, so killing stuff isn't a giant pain in the ass. The series would have been better off if all the games had that kind of control. It's still not a run and gun action game though, as the characters still aren't very mobile and can't shoot on the run. Playing it with the Wiimote is just great though, as not having to struggle to aim with a gamepad makes these sort of games exponentially more playable.
-
Sounds like someone who didn't know what they were talking about. Then again, maybe it's legal for a store to make their own policies regarding what age is allowed to buy an M or AO game, assuming their policies raise the age rather than lower it.
-
RE4 Wii is the goods. Obviously people knew what to expect as far as the gameplay goes, but the controls were well done and make for a better game in my opinion. Dealing with large groups of enemies is a lot better because you can aim a lot faster and more accurate with the remote, and it's easier to get headshots and the like. The only negative is that the camera is more of a pain to manipulate as the d-pad controls the camera, which means you have to frequently move your thumb between that and the A button, but it's not a big deal. All of the other button placements feel very comfortable, moreso than the previous versions of the game. And given that it has the extras of the PS2 version and the better graphics/non-crappiness of the GameCube version, it's worth picking up even if you have either of those versions.
-
It wasn't even rated by Britain's game rating board, which means it won't be sold there (unless they edit it obviously). Nintendo should change that policy though, as it doesn't help their shoddy reputation. And realistically, the difference between an M rated and AO rated game is that the AO game requires the person to be 18 as opposed to 17 for an M rated game. The game itself sounds kind of over the top based on the previews I read, but I don't care what the rating is as long as it's fun.

Just heard on the radio that the Leafs have apparently asked Bryan McCabe if he would waive his no-trade clause. I can't believe there'd be a team willing to take that load of a contract, but a guy can dream. If JFJ can jettison both Raycroft and McCabe, there might be hope for him yet.

Fielder is slugging .097 points higher than Pujols, he's having a better year. I doubt he's some flash in the pan either, considering he is quite young, and was decent last year. He's the future of the game, and he's already putting up big numbers, I don't see why he shouldn't be voted in. It's not a Chris Shelton scenario.

The President's Cup is in Montreal this year isn't it? It'd be a real shame if Ames and Weir don't make the team.

I don't know about Tekken, but in Virtua Fighter, 1 frame is 1/60th of a second, and even one frame can make all the difference between whose move succeeds and whose fails. I don't think there's any net-code good enough to be accurate to 1/60th of a second, so any latency at all will make a big difference. If a game doesn't need accuracy to that degree, then it can work online. Otherwise it's not reliable.
