Urgh, nevermind, I looked it up.

I'm curious as to how Blizzard will handle the sequel to what is widely regarded as the best RTS game of all time. Will they change things up a bit and probably piss of a chunk of their fans? Or keep things the same and piss off a different chunk of their fans? I personally feel a modern, slightly updated version of the original would be fine. Some new units, a few extra gimmicks and a bunch of new, deeper scenarios sounds good.

Nintendo needs to make a real sequel to Mario RPG. The Paper Mario games were rather weak compared to Mario RPG in terms of environment and scope, and it seems like Nintendo has made the Paper Mario series into more of a platformer now (for the better), so there's room to make a real sequel to Mario RPG. Also, they need to release Ogre Battle 64 on the VC. I believe it's Square that owns the rights, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Are you still assuming that my comment about SSB was about the Wii? Or what's the story? Drunk? PMS? Angry that someone dare insult the majestic Wii software library? I never said I didn't care about any of the future Wii titles. And since you've taken such a keen interest in my spending habits, I'll lay it out for you. I bought a Wii near launch because a) I wanted to trade my GameCube while I could still get something for it, to defray the costs of the Wii and b) because it likely wasn't going to come down in price for a long time. And now it's modded, so I can kill time waiting for the Wii library to become passable by playing a bunch of GameCube games that I never got a chance to play before. Clearly, buying the system near launch for the same price as I would pay a year later, was a mistake.

Actually, that was a dig at the mediocre SSB games. While the Wii library sucks, I use the system to play GameCube games and I got it modded, so it's worthwhile.

I saw a non-shitty episode of X-Play today. I was impressed. They had some previews of upcoming games and I got to see some nifty footage of Bio Shock and Mass Effect. It was nice, because I'm too lazy to download videos from places like IGN or GameSpot, who make you run through hoops to get watchable video. Morgan also looked very attractive. She's not mind-blowing or anything, but she definitely looks better in her normal state than she does in the fake, made-up form (as most non-fugly girls tend to).

Hopefully a playable game. I'm not holding my breath.

I'll be cheering for Detroit or Anaheim. That is, I would be if I didn't hate hockey (until next season begins). I refuse to cheer for any other Canadian teams just because fans of those teams are generally pricks and certainly wouldn't cheer for Toronto if they were the last Canadian team standing (not that it'll occur anytime in the foreseeable future).

I got the ban hammer from XBox Live. I guess my brother (according to him) played a game (a legit game) on XBox Live after we got the console modded. I probably didn't tell him not to because I don't use XBox Live for anything and thus didn't care about not having access to it. Nothing changes really, I pirate games, and continue to not use XBox Live for anything.

Who is Toronto's NL rival now? I guess it's Philly because that's who they're playing today, but I don't really know. I thought it was just going to be Washington, since they were born from the Montreal franchise, but are they paired with the Orioles now?

A lot of that ending was very reminiscent of the UK The Office, albeit with the roles reversed. The final bit with Ryan was absolute gold, even if him getting the job doesn't really make sense (experience and what not).

Gee, that's a shock. Microsoft, where quality is none of our business. Best story I've heard - Guy is using his XBox 360 without a DVD-ROM (the only XBox 360 mods are done to the DVD drive), yet still got banned from XB Live.

Word is, they're cracking down (bahaha) on people playing Halo 3 with a modded console. Also, some people without console mods are being banned or otherwise not able to access XBL. This could also have something to due with XBLive having big time server issues.

Rome. Although I understand why it was cancelled (the show was just too expensive to produce), the rushing and length of season two was a real, real shame.

Those Reviews on the Run guys are the ones I was referring to earlier. Can't stand that show.

Patching is a security blanket for game developers. They know they can get their buggy/unstable software out early, without causing a huge problem as long as they patch in a timely manner. Console devs never had that luxury until recently. The only problem is the people who don't have internet connections for their consoles, which I would imagine is a much, much larger percentage than those who don't have an internet connection on their PC.

Heh, my XBox 360 decided to start freezing anytime I closed an open message in the XBL dashboard. Fun times. Might have been because XBL was buggered for a while, I don't know. I say that because marketplace wasn't loading either, but it just loaded now. Oh nevermind, it's probably slow and shitty because of the fucking Halo 3 beta.

The Red Ring (Rico) problem with the XBox 360 is apparently linked to a flaw in the heatsink. Or at least, that's what supposedly causes the majority of those problems. It's also something that was apparently fixed by MS in later versions of the console. I say nothing concrete because this is what I've read at various hacking/modding sites, and people have said they've had success fixing the heatsink issue themselves. I really don't know anything other than it's brutal for people who aren't covered by warranty.

Yes, assuming the blur effect is what you're seeing. I guess they thought it cinematically enchanced~! the game.

Are you sure it wasn't just the game's fault? I know Vice City on PS2 had that awful blur effect, and I'm not sure if you could turn it off. GTA3 for PC had a similar effect, but there was an option to turn it off thankfully.

And given how close in-game cutscenes can look to pre-rendered video now (hi, Gears of War), who really cares about pre-rendered cutscenes anymore? I suppose I still like them for the opening and ending, but during the game, there's really no need to use them.
