Yea. The NIS games are tiny, so it's easy for them to include the extra audio track. The big budget 12 disc games, not so much.

Some of the dialogue was actually a bit different than what was being said at various parts. Nothing too extreme, just things that could be taken in a different context than what the original script had in mind. I thought the original voice acting was generally great. Makoto was way over the top when he was in his "gay form", but his serious form was excellent. Everyone else fit their roles perfectly. The Queen of Ice and Yuki in particular were excellent, with the former being beautifully evil and latter being a perfect "cute-tough girl-tomboy" type. Atsuma kind of got corny in the more dramatic moments, but it was passable. It wasn't really a masterful performance, I think it was just a nice change of pace to have the original voices in a more dramatic/cinematic RPG. The NIS RPGs always include them, but those are hardly cinematically inclined. I can't even think of any other RPGs that included the original voice acting, although I'm sure there is at least one or two. Also - I can't stand the butchering of Japanese names by the English VAs. Pretty much every English anime/game VA ever puts too much emphasis on the middle syllables in names. It's not hard to just say "a-tsu-ma" instead of "at-SUU-ma".

Damn, I didn't realize the demo was being released so long before the full game is due. Heh, 6 months until release? Yea I think they can fix something like that before then. No voice acting is odd, although if they weren't going to include the original voices, I don't care. After playing Enchanted Arms, I've decided I really, really like voice acting if the originals are included. If not? Probably not interested, although Square's effort with FFXII gives me much optimism for the future of their dubbed RPGs.

Sounds very interesting, although that last bit is completely bizarre and silly. I'm too lazy to set up a JPN account, so I'm just going to wait for the demo to be released here. These RPGs really need to do respectably, so more publishers will be willing to put more RPGs on the XBox 360, as opposed to having 95% of all RPGs end up exclusive to Sony's system. Enchanted Arms and this make for a good start, Blue Dragon is coming sometime this year (even though I don't think it looks particularly good), and Lost Odyssey seems like it could be amazing. If the big boys get on board after this, it's looking like a viable RPG system.

Another prediction: You will be called faggot by someone with a high-pitched voice.

You're clearly lying, as arcades no longer exist. Pretty cool though, even if I have no idea what game you're talking about

The GameCube ediiton of Fire Emblem is pretty good. There's really nothing new there, but I like how tactical the battles are and how you have to carefully mange your team members. There also seems to be a rather big roster of characters, and some pleasing archetypes. I am, however, not a fan of permanent death in RPGs, as it's basically just a forced reload like the whole party dying would be. It's a nice addition to the RPG-starved GameCube.

So essentially, the simpler the game, the more people it appeals to. Yes, that's true in pretty much every entertainment medium, but that's not really what I was arguing. I've basically admitted that it made an impact on the console scene, but that doesn't really sway my opinion on whether I think a game is good or not. Goldeneye was the same way. Grossly inferior to Quake in pretty much every way, yet it had the big following due to its placement on a console. Given the popularity of PC gaming compared to console gaming, it's no surprise. It's just amusing to me as someone who is a fan of both.

Yikes. Guess I'll steer clear of the PC version of Halo 2. I think it's simply a matter of people not being exposed to any other games like it, despite those games existing years earlier. Halo was essentially a low-rent knock-off of Tribes, and no doubt it was many people's first experience with that sort of game style. I know the first time I played Tribes, I was blown away, because it was basically played on huge, wide open maps with vehicles and all sorts of cool weapons, and it really hadn't been done before, or at least, done as well. It left an impression, so I can see how a similar game might leave an impression on someone who is experiencing that type of game for the first time. I guess in that way, I get its appeal, but I also can't really say it's an A+ game when it's been bettered by so many other games, both before and after its release. It certainly wouldn't be the first time a developer released a beta that didn't look as good as the complete game. But with the hysteria surrounding the series, I'm not surprised that some people are slitting their wrists over how "mediocre" it supposedly looks.

Hentai games are all over the place. They would automatically take all the spots on any "sexiest moments" list.

I don't know why we have it, I guess it got tacked on to a package we already subscribe to. I don't really watch it much. Dubbed anime makes my head implode, the Canadian video game review show grates on me because I could do a much better job that those doofs, and the previously mentioned X-Play seems to not actually be about video games anymore.

Everytime I turn to G4 during X-Play, they're discussing something that isn't really related to video games. Or that's how it seems anyway. It's quite weird.

If a game is difficult due to sloppy gameplay, it gets crapped on. If it's difficult just due to being made difficult, it's not. I guess.

Was Halo 2 a lot better than Halo 1? Because Halo 1 wasn't one of the best 30 or so FPS games I've ever played, and if Halo 2 wasn't a big improvement, the 3rd is probably a waste of time for me. I think the most amusing thing about the original Halo, was how much better Half Life and Tribes did various aspects of the Halo gameplay, despite both being released about three years earlier.

I like Webb better, but I don't think either of them are smoking hot or anything. I think mediocre women in odd environments gain quite a following just because they're somewhat unique. Kind of like the borderline fugly-at-times Anna Kournikova in tennis. Sometimes the fact that a girl isn't awful looking and is into certain things, makes her much hotter to some. With AK, I think it was more because some guys like to have an avenue to express their pedophilia. I guess.
