Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
World's Worst Man replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Yea, because wrestlers are tearing muscles and dropping dead in Japan, where the style is much tougher. The wrestling style argument was debunked a while ago, when it was pointed out that the schedule is much easier, and that the wrestlers don't work those incredibly demanding matches more than once or twice a month. But you keep sticking it to the smarks there, skippy. -

The industry in general? Oh, I must have missed the widespread pushing of huge, steroid freaks before the WWF started doing it in the 80's. -

If that's true, and it is by no means proven, who would be to blame for that? -

Wrestlers aren't that stupid. They can see the guys who get pushed, the guys who get fast-tracked from the minor leagues. They are guys with physiques that are not attainable for 99.99% of the population, unless they use steroids. The WWE knows this, and that's why they don't have to explicitly tell their wrestlers to hit the juice. Until they stop this policy of pushing wrestlers based on their physiques, they deserve a lot of the blame for the steroid problem. -

http://www.vgchartz.com/news/news.php?id=429 The PS3 starts outselling the Xbox 360 after the clearance sale price drop. Maybe this will wisen Sony up, and they'll keep making the 60GB model or drop the 80GB model to $500 once the 60 is out of stock. If they go back to one model at $600, they'll be back to square one. But I can't help laughing at the cretins who claimed the drop wouldn't make a difference because the PS3 originally launched with the separate $500 and $600 SKUs. There was obviously a clear and significant difference between the two situations, but I digress. -
Toronto would have won 8-10 more games last year if they had a competent goalie, so Toskala will improve them significantly if he performs to his standards. Their defence really had nothing to do with it. There is no defence against your goalie letting in 50 foot point shots, or bad angle shots off the rush, which often happened, and often cost them games.

Nah, it just reminded me of the GLF story. And yea, anyone who can't see how perverse it is to be at the funeral and then give the WWE bullshit spin to the media is pretty daft. Actually, this whole thread has done a good job of exposing the chaff. -

Did you even read the article? He was not an invited guest according to Nancy's family. Green Lantern Fan. Some clown who thinks he's a celebrity because he goes to all of the major east coast indy shows. Indy fans generally do know him, but his entire act is basically a running joke. -

GLF apparently went to the Chris Candido wake uninvited, probably for no other reason than because he thinks he's a celebrity in the wrestling business. -
Toronto would have made the playoffs last year with a league-average starting goaltender. Quite easily too. They have a better team this year, and a new goalie. Unless certain players underachieve, they should easily make the playoffs this year.

It reminds me of the time GLF crashed the Chris Candido wake. Jim Ross is a shitty human being, both for that stunt, and for the egregious, shameless commentaries on the situation. -
Heh, making the playoffs this year would be a start. I'm excited that they can at least do that

It might be similar to Grim Grimoire, which was an RTS, just not a RTS in the same vein as your WarCrafts and StarCrafts of the world. But the article also says there is going to be 3d fighting in the game as well, so maybe it'll be like Soul Calibur where you're playing on a strategy map, and the battles are fought between characters in the typical fighting genre way. -
I'll gladly argue that Islam is a fucking terrible religion, if you want. And for a nominal fee, I'll take up Mike's gimmick and argue that every Muslim should be exterminated in response to the acts of like, 1% of their population.

I'd say it's more to do with not actually having experienced in-game ads, and thus not knowing how they really work, or how much they can add to the realism of a game. It's easy to say "in-game ads suck, they don't belong in games" if you haven't played a game that takes place in a real city, where it makes perfect sense to see various real life stores and billboards and what not. Or a driving simulator like Gran Turismo or Forza, where it makes perfect sense to see advertisements for various auto manufacturers and parts dealers and what have you. Also, please don't quote the posts of people on my ignore list, I am not interested in reading them.

I don't think it's 100% precise in its tracking. Any close to horizontal movement will make a perfectly horizontal slash, any close to vertical movement will make a perfectly vertical slash, etc.
-
Dragon Quest Swords? It uses motion controls for sword play and for the shield.
-
Hopefully the Joystiq guy just got it completely wrong (as some tend to do), because I'd like the game to be good. http://www.gamevideos.com has a bunch of videos of the Dragon Quest Swords game. They're in the "recently added videos" section, added about 2-3 days ago.
-
Joystig has Wii-bashers, Nintendo fanboys, Sony bashers, Sony fanboys, etc. Lots of different people blog there. I don't really pay attention to who writes the articles though, so I can't say I know who's who
-
Maybe they have time to fix those problems, but it seems rather unlikely that it'll magically turn into a high quality game. High-paced action games on the Wii may never turn out so well, just due to the utter tedium in having to flick the wiimote over and over again. The Dragon Quest Swords game looks much more moderately paced and looks to put the wiimote to good use. My only question about that game is the difficulty, because it's looked rather easy in all the videos I've seen.
-
I welcome ads in games if they're going to drive down the costs of those games (which are already overpriced in general). It's a nice idea in theory, but I am rather cynical about the prospects of ad revenue being translated into lower cost for the consumer however. In-game advertisements have already been done by a bunch of games, and I've seen no benefit off of it in terms of lower game costs. If the developers and publishers won't translate the extra revenue into savings for the consumer, there's no reason the consumer should have to put up with that advertising.

I say old bunt, twas a downright slight bit of jesting, naught a scad of detriment intended. Any bean of Charlemagne is indubitably a bean of mine.
-
Why do you have Charles the Great in your signature? Are you some kind of history fanboy???? Carry on in any case.
-
Ah. I think the wheel is coming bundled with Mario Kart anyway, so it's not a bad idea. I'll probably use it too, because it seems like it'd be an improvement over steering with a vanilla wiimote.

This needs to be put to rest. He had ten to fifteen times the normal amount of testosterone in his body. Do you think he was taking these incredibly large doses solely due to his low testosterone problem, or for bodybuilding purposes? It's not a cryptic or ambiguous question, it's a fairly simple one and it has a simple answer.
