Does anyone happen to have Grab Them Cakes, JYD's song that he used as an entrance?

I watched some of the 11/20/84 MSG Show that just got put up today, and from what I saw, it was pretty lame, just the lowest of the low jobbers fighting even bigger jobbers, in 10 minute matches. It does feature Bobby Heenan in a totally striahgt match though, which is odd. No gimmick, no comedy, no storyline, just a normal match with Bobby Heenan wrestling a jobber.

Didn't Lou Albano manage like 20 different teams to the Tag Team Belts?

wtf, mine hasn't updated yet. Last night I finally got the House Show from Boston, but I don't have any of the new stuff you guys listed....

Pathfinder has actually been in the can for over a year now, Fox is finally dumping it next weekend to at least reap some money off of it, and to fulfill obligations. Tarantino to me seems the type who thinks everything he touches is gold. Don't get me wrong, Reservoir Dogs is a great film, and Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorites, but everything he's done since has been lackluster. The first Kill Bill is great, but the second one is all dialog, and was a real drag.

I know the story is that Vince Hogan and Warrior spent a week in Florida choreographing the Wrestlemania match move for move.

At least Planet Terror had a plot and a story arc, Death Proof didn't have any to speak of, it was just a lot of dialog, which is fine, but it wasn't as good as Planet Terror.
-
We watched the whole excursion at work last night. Planet Terror was easily the much better film, featuring much more action and excitement. Death Proof has it's moment, but it's really heavy on dialog, and there isn't much of any plot to speak of.

The Lawler / Kaufman feud was great, but the thing is that the contemporary version of the feud ends with David Letterman. In reality, Kaufman more then overstayed him welcome on TV in Memphis, appearing on and off continuously until his declining health made him no longer capale of doing so.

I've sent semi-nasty e-mails to both WWE and my Cable Company about missing content, let's see how long / if it gets fixed.

Wait, you have the PPV and the Boston Garden show on yours? I have the Shorties, Legends, and TV Classics menus, but not Big Ones. Wtf?

If WWE attempts to push this worldwide brand promotion thing I've been hearing about, then things are going to change so radically, that it will just be completely impossible to predict Summerslam, let alone next years Wrestlemania.

Ooh, ooh, look inside, it's NOTES! What kind of notes?

Yeah, Kane being out with an injury after WM sounds to me like it means major squash for Khali. -
Er, maybe this is funnier to fans of 24, but this really isn't funny to me. I've never seen an episode of 24 in my life, so maybe I just don't get it. I dunno. This is like the fourth or fifth time they've done Vagina jokes, the most recent one being that unspeakably horrible Oprah episode, and it really isn't ever funny.

Not too many matches considering the show is 4 hours. God willing Money in the Bank, MVP / Benoit and Cena / Michaels will get at least 20 minutes to a half hour. My predictions on match order / winners Show opens up with Kane vs Khali. Match is six different kinds of awful, and ends in under six minutes with Khali getting the clean pin. One or both of these guys will likely blade. Ken Kennedy wins Money in the Bank next in a match that will be heavy on blatantly choreographed spots. I don't imagine Orton, Finlay, or Booker will be much of a factor as this really isn't their type of match, and is really just an excuse to get them on the card somewhere. CM Punk may steal the show. The rest should be a solid, but uninspiring clusterfuck. Ashley defeats Melina in what will be declared the worst match of the night. Expect this to be even shorter then Kane vs Khali, and involve a lot of nonsense from the ladies on the outside, in an attempt to cover the fact that none of the women int he ring have any talent at all. Chris Benoit defeats MVP and carries him to the match that will likely make his career. I have a feeling this will be one of those matches that afterwards everyone will be saying "MVP should give Chris Benoit 30% of every paycheck he receives from now on thanks that match". I figure this one will get a decent amount of time, and should hopefully be pretty good. Undertaker defeats Batista to win the World title. This one will be short as well, likely under 10 minutes. I just can't imagine any possible scenario where Batista keeps the belt. The crowd would just absolutely shit all over that, but that's never stopped WWE from making idiotic booking decisions before.... Bobby Lashley defeats Umaga in the Battle of the Billionaires. This is going to be a brawl, but not nearly on the level of the matches Umaga had with Cena. Umaga proved that he can at least move around the ring fluidly and take a bump. Lashley hasn't really proved to have much of anything at all in the way of discernible talent, so this one won't be pretty. Vince Mcmahon gets his head shaved, probably by Austin. Donald Trump takes the bump for the stunner. ECW New Breed defeats ECW Originals. This will last just long enough for everyone to grab the last slice of pizza and take a bathroom break before the main event. John Cena defeats Shawn Michaels to retain the WWE Title. This one should hopefully get the full half hour, and will likely be structured similarly to last years match with Triple H. It'll go back and fourth for a while before Michaels taps out to the STF. Overall from this standpoint, unless Benoit / MVP or Cena / Michaels really blows me out of the water, this show looks like it's going to be very long and that's not a good thing. My prediction: Solid Thumbs in the Middle Leaning Down

So....way to close out the month. Maybe my service hasn't compeltely updated yet, but it looks like all we got new this week is a new ECW and a new WCCW. Wrestlemania 3 and Prime Time Wrestling from 3/27/87 have also been extended for another week. Boy howdy.....

Good god, my head is going to explode over these entrance themes! I picked up the new Royal Rumble box set today. On the 1991 Disc, Big Bossman's Hard Times music, which has been edited on all footage, is heard in full. So is Koko B. Ware's Birdman song, which is also constantly edited. On the 1990 Disc, they edit in Bossman's '98 theme, despite the fact that at that point, Bossman didn't have an entrance theme at all. Also on the 1990 disc, Koko's Birdman theme is edited into Piledriver, like they do on 24/7! On the 1994 disc, the Quebecer's "We're Not the Mounties" theme is in tact, despite having been edited on the Wrestlemania set. Demolition's theme is heard in full on the 1989 set as well, and they've never been consistent about editing it, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's edited. For those wondering, the only other noticeable difference, from what I've seen at least, is taht the 1991 Disc is the Original PPV Version, which has a different opening montage then the Home Video version. The Home Video one has Vince McMahon doing the voiceover, this one has someone else who I can't identify but sounds vaguely like Todd Pettingill doing the voiceover. Now I'm not one of these elitist fanboy snobs who gets all worked up over this shit, quite frankly the music, to me at least, is the least important part of the overall product. But what the fuck, at least be consistent about it. My understanding was that they have the rights to all Jim Johnston produced themes, while anything produced by Jimmy Hart, which is a lot of themes from the 80's and 90's, as well as anything produced by Rick Derringer, which includes the 2 Piledriver albums, except for Real American, requires a royalty, and thus gets edited. I'm just so damn confused....

From the way a lot of these responses are worded, I get the impression that the majority of these celebrities don't even have the slightest clue who Vince McMahon even is.

The original Smash was Randy Cully, who was previously known as Moondog Rex. He only wrestled like three matches tops with Ax as a part of Demolition before being replaced with Barry Darsow in January 87. I have at least two different matches on tape around here with Original Smash, and you can barely even tell when they change wrestlers.

I just came back from watching this, it was so-so. It seemed to have a problem trying to figure out what crowd it wanted to pander to, kids, or fans. There's a lot of dialog and exposition which will bore kids to death. On the other hand the writing is at times extremely corny and way too childish for older fans to tolerate. The Animation varies wildly too, with some scenes looking like they rendered on a Nintendo 64, while others actually look pretty impressive. I think it could have used less story and more action, but it wasn't a bad film, just really disjointed. I give it a C

Yeah, I was disappointed when I tuned in this morning only to see Wrestlemania 19. I don't know why they waste their time with that stuff, you'd think they'd understand that only the most dedicated of the hardcore fans are watching this stuff, and most of them would probably have a show like that already on DVD.

Yeah right, with all the publicity they're getting for Wrestlemania, there's NO WAY they'll test any of the main event guys before Wrestlemania.
