    Ultimate Put Over.....

I would say Mick Foley putting over orton at Backlash 04 is about as close as you're gonna get, and even that's no much because Foley was nothing by that point anyways.

    Snakes on a Plane

Just got back from seeing this one. This movie was so awesome for so many reasons. It's completely over the top with the movie cliches, but not so much so that it gets corny. Samuel L. Jackson more then lives up to his name, and is great in the film. Plenty of action, and tons of suspense, lots of scenes that will just have you cringe in terror. I'll give the director credit, pandering to the Internet crowd that was going gaga over this flick was a risky gamble, but it worked out quite well. What could have very well have been another boring action film turned into one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had at the movies so far this year. See it.
  3. I'll be at this show tonight, but I have low expectations.

D'oh, you had to bump this up from page 4 the second after I made a new topic. Oh well, close mine and just keep this one.

  7. I believe Sideshow Bob said it best "You need me, Springfield. Your guilty conscience may force you to vote Democratic, but deep down inside you secretly long for a cold-hearted Republican to lower taxes, brutalize criminals, and rule you like a king. That's why I did this: to protect you from yourselves."

    World Trade Center

I watched this tonight. Stone is hit and miss with me, when he just wants to make a straight up film like Natural Born Killers or Platoon, he's great, but when he tries to get political like JFK or Nixon, he just comes off a fringe kook. Overall this film was just ok and nothing more. The story was too drawn out, and there was nothing really to it all. Put me in the camp of it being too soon for 9/11 movies. I believe it was Stanley Kubrick who said of "Schindler's List", "The Holocaust isn't about 100 people living, it's about six million people dying". This is how I feel about September 11th, it's not about 2 people trapped in rubble, it's about 2000 people in a skyscraper while it's collapsing. In that sense, "United 93" was a much better "September 11th" movie then this although 93 was too intense for me to watch all the way through. This felt more like a feel good made for TV movie on ABC then anything that had any business being in theaters. Skip it.
  10. Lamonts campaign against Lieberman wasn't even about the issues, it was just a smear campaign claiming that he wasn't liberal enough. Maybe I'll eat my words, maybe come November the American People will decide what they want is change and will vote the Dems in, we'll see, but the GOP hasn't lost in 12 years, and I don't think they're going to start now.
  11. Yeah, well look how well the "I'm not George Bush" platform worked for Al Gore and John Kerry.

I never read much about 93. Could you elaborate? The fact that you essentially knew scene for scene what was going to happen in United 93, along with the subject matter in and of itself made it too intense for me.

    N64 KID

His sister is kinda cute. Too bad she's prolly not legal.
  15. Just wondering, anyone have any clue, when was Lex Lugers first TV Loss in the WWF? Looking through Cawthon's site, it seems as though on TV, Luger never lost a single match on TV via pinfall from his Debut in 93, untill after WM X. THe first on TV loss for Luger seems to be a Countout loss to Jarrett on the 5.21.94 RAW. His first pinfall loss doesn't seem to appear untill the Summerslam match with Tatanka. If this is correct, that's a pretty damn long time to go without getting pinned.
  16. Lita has always been a terrible worker, and a danger to herself and others in the ring, so this doesn't surprise me.
  17. Wow, I've been to bad shows in my day, but this ranks among them. My friends and I drove up 2 hours from Connecticut to see this garbage, and to say ir wasn't worth the trip is like sayingf Khali is just a bad wrestler. For starters, the "Wallace Civic Center" was just a retrofitted, dank Hockey Rink, that looked and smelled like a bowling alley. Secondly, the crowd was so small that it would have had most Indy promoters throw their hands up in disgust. If there were 300 people in this place, I'd be shocked. The crowd was dead almost the whole show, and no one was into any of the matches at all. Worst of all, NOTHING went longer then 10 minutes, and the show was barely a hair over 90 minutes, including a 20 minute intermission. Because of the length of the drive, we ended up at the show 15 minutes late, but I was told that all we missed was Balls Mahoney squashing a jobber, adn we sat down to see the FBI get beat by 2 jobbers. First match I saw was Mike Knox vs Steven Richards. This was atrocious, non stop rest holds and nothing even the least bit exciting. Match ended with Knox pinnging Richards after his finisher. Next was the "Extreme Bikini Contest" which featured Francine getting louds cheers and winning over Kelly. After the contest, Jazz came out and laid out both women. CM Punk beat Kevin Fertig in the only margainally decent wrestling match at the night. Fertig is worthless, but Punk tried to keep the match going with some decent offense, including a plancha through the ropes. Punks finish was like a rock bottom into a headlock submission. 10 Minute Intermission came next Sandman and Justin Credible fought in a "Dueling Canes Match". Sandman did his entrance walking through the whole rink, before comign to the ring. Match went no where, and ended with Knox and Test doing the run in. Dreamer made the save, leading to a tag match. Sandman and Dreamer beat Test and Mike Knox. Again, paint by numbers tag match. Dreamer gets dominated by the heels, makes the hot tag to Sandman, all 4 guys brawl, Sandman ends it with the leg sweep. Main Event has Big Show beat Sabu after chokeslamming him through a table. This was just a mess, both guys botched most of their major spots, and it ended up looking terrible as a result. It was an "Extreme Rules" match, but yet the Ref tried stopping Sabu from using a chair. Sabu whipped Big Show into the corner that had a table propped up, but Big Show just kind of fell and had his foot land through the table and break it. Sabu then slipped off the top rope when attempting the facebuster. Big Show was slow and worthless as always. Overall this show was absolute pits of hell awful. Fitchburg, MA is a nothing town out in the middle of no where, in an area where ECW never really ran that often anyways. Connecticut is maybe 2 hours down the highway, and it's always a hot market, where ECW used to run all the time. I've been to Indy shows that have had larger crowds then this ECW show did tonight, and they were more excited to be there then anyone here did too. If you have an oppertunity to buy tickets for a WWECW House Show, by all means, pass. This was a worthless excercise in futility, and it's really a fucking wonder that they still pull strong 2's every week with this trash.

    Bam Bam Bigelow

Hogan held him down because he was arguably becoming as popular with the fans at the time as Hogan. Bigelow was out with an injury shortly after WM 4, and was released despite his popularity. He was essentially promised a World Title run for agreeing to do the job for LT at Wrestlemania 11. Instead he got to Main Event one of the worst PPVs of all time before jobbing to Goldust.

    WWECW Report Fitchburg, MA

Whoever told Meltz there was 1000 or more people there is delusional. There were 500 people there tops, despite Tommy Dreamer claiming "1700". Also, Bowling Alleys DO have a unique smell, similar to night clubs and other similar places. It's the smell of decades stale cigarette smoke.
  20. But the 2 main arguments in support of Breast Feeding are normally 1. It's perfectly natural, in which case procreation and urination are too and 2. I have to feed my kid and this is the only way to do it. The point is, most women who are blatently just breast feeding their children in front of other people are no different then any other inconsiderate people in society. Sure, there's no law against me cursing in public, laying on my horn when I'm in the car, pushing my way to the front of a line, and so fourth, but you don't do these things becasue we have respect and common courtesy for other people. There are other ways for women to feed their children in public ranging from discreet breast feeding out of the view of others, to bottling the milk and giving it to them that way, but some women choose to just make a scene and do it in front of everyone for whatever radical feminist statement it is they're trying to make.
  21. Again, it has NOTHING to do with Sex or breasts or anything, it has to do with me, and many others, jut not wanting to see women lactating in public! The true purpose of my penis is to be inserted in a females vagina in order to replicate the species, and to expel liquid waste from my body. Sex and urination are BOTH perfectly natural activities but I understand that no one is interested in seeing me engage in either activity, so therefore I am respectful of the wishes of the rest of society and do both in my own privacy.
  22. Lactation is disgusting, and I have no interest in seeing it.

    Exposing the Biz

I go back to my orginal post in the thread.....Hulk Hogan. From the time he entered WCW in 1994 the company went downhill from the bad PPVs that featured Hogan vs Vader with the undercard consisting of Brutus Beefcake, Jim Duggan, Kamala, Dugueon of Fat Bastards lead by Sullivan who was trying to kill Hulkamania but killed my passion for pro wrestling when it got so fucking predictable that I could not watch. It also had Hulk Hogan changing his colors from the traditional mustard & ketchup to black at a rate of every 5 months because it got stale real fast. In a time period of about 5 years of doing the same ol shit Hulk Hogan KILLED pro wrestling on TBS/TNT. When the great orange goblin could'nt suck anymore heat out of Hall, Nash, Sting, Flair the company died. FUCK YOU HULK HOGAN! The Doomsday Cage match at Uncensored 96 single handedly killed killed WCW, until it was miraculously revived by the NWO Angle. Had the NWO and Hogan's heel turned not taken off like a rocket, that match alone would have been the death of WCW 5 years early.

    Exposing the Biz

WWE still does this to this very day putting women like Ashley Massaro, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, Maria, and others who have absolutely no serious wrestling training at all, in legitimate wrestling matches on TV and Pay Per View, and the results are always horrible. The biggest business exposing move in my opinion is when a wrestler botches a spot severely, and then just gets up and repeats the spot.
  25. There was a big long debate about this on Fark. I personally am of the mindframe that, While I like to see boobies and all, lastation is disgusting, and if you absolutely feel compelled to do it in public at least be discreet about it. Any woman with any regard for the rest of society would already be doing this, but too many women feel the need to just be blatent about it and do it right out in public, just in an attempt to make some sort of misguided statement. No one wants to see me pee and poop in public, so why should we have to see women lactating?
