  1. I purchased the car in Febuary 2005 with 35,000 miles on it, so I put about 11,000 miles on it in a year and a half.
  2. Yeah so I'm driving home on the Highway when all of a sudden I hear a loud crunch noise. Now I'm lazy, and my car is filled with empty soda cans and bottles, so my first thought is that something just smashed one of those. So I pull over, and all I see it a pool of Antifreeze and Transmission Fluid under my car, leading back to where I pulled over, and a bunch of plastic as well. So I wait 40 minutes for a tow to Pep Boys. They call me back after dinner, and apparently for some reason comething caused the crank shaft to smash a hole through the Engine, and the car is all but dead. So now I have a dead 1994 Oldsmobile Achieva in my driveway, lovely. The car only had 46k miles on it too, so it's not like it was nearing the end. Now I gotta start calling tomorrow to inquire about getting a loan so I can buy a new car. The car was nothing special at all, but it was still MY car, and I'm kind of bummed that it had to die such a horrible death. Anyone have any suggestions about what my next car should be, withing a 3500 - 5000 dollar range?
  3. I drove out about a half hour to see it again today in IMAX 3D. It was pretty neat, the 3D Effects were pretty cool, but only the trailers and 4 segments of the film were in 3D. It was something different, but considering how I could see it as many times as I want at work for free, it didn't seem like a bargain for 10.50 per tickets.
  4. I'm telling you man, it's been a year, the heat has died down, I'm sure WWE could convince UPN to allow them to bring back Hassan. Have a storyline where Daivari uses mystical powers from Allah to bring him back to life.
  5. My bad, you guys are right. That Iron Man match was so forgettable, it was a decent idea, but it just didn't work out. Oh well, 3 years is still a pretty long time.
  6. A small piece of Trivia, last night was the first time in almost 5 years that the WWE Title has changed hands on Free (Non-PPV) TV. The last time was when Austin beat Kurt Angle for the belt on RAW on October 8 2001. The belt which Rey Mysterio currently holds on the other hand has never changed hands on Free Television in the 4 years it has existed, unless you're going to count Angle winning it in a Battle Royal when it was vacated. On a similar note, besides the aformentioned Battle Royal, has the World Title ever changed hands on Smackdown?
  7. So I got the poster today for the upcoming film The Marine starring John Cena, and I must say it's the most rediculous looking thing I've ever seen. This movie is going to be terrible beyond all comprehension. Here's a look at the poster http://img220.imageshack.us/my.php?image=raw4hz.jpg
  8. I see no problem wearing my John Cena "Hustle Loyalty Respect" shirt, and my Ric Flair "Dirtiest Player in the Game" shirt. I still occaisionally wear my JBL Shirtand my Hogan shirt, but I've pretty much retired my Captain Charisma shirt. I tend to buy at least one shirt whenever I go to a show, and I have a pretty decent collection now.
  9. Trailer programming decisions are made by the theater companies. The Spider-Man 3 trailer is in the can of every print of Superman Returns, but whether or not it'll be on there or not isn't 100%, but in all likelyhood it'll probobly be on every print of the film. I can vouch that the company that owns the theater I manage deemed that the trailer should be placed on every print of the film. I get to see films early because I manage a theater here to make some extra cash while I go to school. I've been doing this since I've been in High School, and have been manager for only the past 2 years now. We weren't even expecting to get the film in yesterday, but we lucked out and got a Sunday delivery, but I digress.
  10. he running time was one of those situations where, while yes, there was probobly at least a good half an hour of stuff they could have cut out, and the movie still would have been great, it's still not one of those movies that drags for 2 and a half hours either. It goes by really quick, and you don't even realize it's been that long.
  11. Saw this tonght, and it was leagues better then last months god awful X-Men 3. This was everything that piece of garbage wasn't, it told a good story, had great emotion, and gave plenty of time to develop it all. It wasn't quite up to last years Batman Begins in my opinion at least, but it was definitely the best film I've sene so far. Definitely give this one a look when it comes out on Wednesday.
  12. I've got tickets for Massachusetts at the end of July, so here's hoping that things only get better as they progress.
  13. But the thing is, Cena IS over with the crowd. Irregardless if he gets cheered or booed, it's at least a reaction. Every time Edge comes out to the ring, the most interesting thing that ever happens is the hope that maybe Lita will have a nipple slip of some sort. Cena may not be Ric Flair, but he's had good matches against better opponents like Triple H, Angle, and Jericho.. Edge on the other hand was only able to be carried to even mediocre matches with Kurt Angle for christ's sake.
  14. 1995 WCW vs 2006 WWF Johnny B Badd vs Shelton Benjamin Harlem Heat vs Kendrick and London Avalanche vs Umaga The Dungeon of Doom vs The Spirit Squad Lex Luger vs Bobby Lashley Vader vs Finlay Ric Flair vs Kurt Angle Sting vs Edge Randy Savage vs Rey Mysterio Hulk Hogan vs John Cena
  15. I dunno, if you ask me, Edge getting the World Title back is bullshit, he's not particularly over with the crowd, he's never impressed me at all as a singles wrestler, and it seems to me more of a situation where they simply don't have anyone better to put it on rather then him being deserving of it. The ratings spike when he had the belt back in January was likely more out of curiosity since Cena had the belt for so long. Here's hoping for a short reign where the belt quickly returns to Cena or Triple H.
  16. and even once Batista wins the belt, who is he going to feud with? A returning Chris Masters maybe? Edge might get moved back to Smackdown at the end of the summer, so he's a possibility too. Booker T has been booked so incompetantly that no one would take him seriously in the main event.
  17. There's nothiong at all wrong with a Rey vs Chavo feud, but as has been said, the idea of it being a World Title feud is rediculous.
  18. With Orton and Angle gone, it seems now that Smackdowns Main Event is completely non-existant. Rey has won what, two matches since winning the belt? Pathetic. Batista is returning soon, but all reports are that he's coming back too soon, and is not ready yet, so who knows what'll happen there. What do you think WWE is going to do for Great American Bash? Early previews had Henry vs Batista booked for the show. So assuming that WWE does Undertaker vs Khali, Hanry vs Batista, and Booker T vs Bobby Lashley, where does that leave Rey? The most logical idea to me seems to be a quickie feud with Finlay, working off the fact that Rey has lost to him twice. If WWE hadn't insisted on turning him into a damn cartoon character with that midget, Finlay definitely could have been a top contender in the Main Event, despite his age, but I could see a title match with Rey getting second billing on the card behind Batista. Even after that though, is Henry going to do the Job, but still get the title shot at Summerslam, so he can job the belt back to Batista? I think Rey vs Batista would draw as a main event, but WWE is always so chicken shit to do face vs face Main Events, especially for major shows, that they'd never do it. Anad whatever happened to the supposed storyline where Chavo was supposed to turn heel on Rey? I certainly hope that's not what they're planning for the Bash PPV, becasue that would be a joke. So, preytell, why is it that WWE seems to be able to remain consistant with everything else on Smackdown except the main event?
  19. Here are the pics Eugene talking with the Ref The Highlanders! Umaga and Estrada Carlito and Nitro Orton Cena wearing the Crimson Mask Spirit Squad DX
  20. Nope, they had the shirts on, but they had their normal ring gear on.
  21. Man, I finally got back from the show tonight after sitting in traffic trying to get out of Hartford for about 45 minutes. The show started at 7:30. Doors opened around 6:45. My friend and I arrived at around 5:30, and went aroudn the back to see the wrestlers drive in. The onyl guys of note that we saw were Armando driving in with the Highlanders, and he opened his window and did his ARMANDOOOOOO ALAJANDROOOOOOO ESTRRRRRADA spiel, it was great. We also saw Arn Anderson driving in briefly as well. The Show was about 3/4ths sell out. The entire upper deck was taped off, but everything else was pretty close to full. The Merchandise table was actually surprisingly barren. They ahd the New D-X and Triple H shirts, but everything else was older stuff. I picked up a Cena shirt, and the new D-X DVD. The first match was Eugene vs Conway. This was a total comedy match. Eugene got most of the offense, and did his lame Rock and Hogan immitations. This guys act is getting seriously old, it's been the exact same thing for 2 years now. Eugene got the pin after hitting The Stunner. Next up was Trevor Murdoch and Lance Cade vs The Highlanders. I believe this may have been the first in ring appearence of The Highlanders, they were basically doing a Bushwhackers gimmick. When they came in the ring, they started beating one another, and instead of making tags, they slapped one anotehr in the face. They also did a spot where they did headbutts in opposite corners, instead of ten punches. The Highlanders eded up giving Cade the Bushwhackers old Battering Ram finish, and then did a splash off the ropes onto Murdoch for the pin. Highlanders were entertaining, but didn't seem too competant in the ring. Umaga vs Viscera was next. Estrada got on the Mic first and did his whole act. This match was a total squash, with Viscera only getting in some token jobber offense. Umaga got the pin with the spike. Carlito vs Nitro turned out to be the workrate match of the night. Both guys went back and fourth and kept reversing one another. Both guys are much better workes then they are allowed to be on television it seems. Carlito got the pin here after his finish. Matt Strkyer did his school segmetn next which was a waste of time. He got beat up by Jim Duggan. Last match before intermission was Orton vs Kane. Really slow and plodding match. Orton stalled for the first five minutes, and when the match really did finally start, it was mostly just a lot of rest holds and headlocks. Fake Kane came out at one point and Real Kane beat him up. While he was distracted though, Orton was able to set him up for the RKO and got the pin. After the match, fake Kane gave real Kane a chokeslam. A very brief intermission came next. They started up again with no announcement at all, and most of the crowd was still in the bathroom and at concessions when Coach came out. Coach came out next and cut the usual GM promo, mentioning ECW and DX. He set up the next Divas match, Candice and Mickey James vs Torrie and Maria in some sort of bra and panties deal, you know the drill. I was in line for nachos for most of this match. The end came when Mickey ripped off the rest of Torries pants. After the match Mickey and Candice beat up Coach for wanting a kiss. Cena came out to mostly cheers. He cut a promo about ECW and then ran down Edge for intefering and costing him the belt. Edge came out, and they had a street fight match. This wasn't very good either. Most of the action took place outside the ring, and if you know anything about the Hartford Civic Center, you know that the field of vision is terrible for anything but first row floor, so most of the crowd didn't see most of this match. Cena bladed and his face was soaked as a result. Finish came when Cena hit the F-U and got a clean pin on Edge. Spirit Squad came out for the main event. They got on the mic and did their cheerleader bit, to loud boos. Michaels and Triple H came out and did the whole D-X entrance, with the music and the crotch chops. Triple H got ont he mic and did the Road Dog Ladies and Gentlemen promo, while Michaels did the Suck It line. This match was mostly a squash, with the Spirit Squad being treated as jobbers, and getting in limited offense. One of the Spirit Squad guys missed a splash outside on Michaels off the trampoline. In the ring, Triple H hit one of the Spirit Squad guys with the Pedigree, and Michaels his the superkick on another that tried to break up the pin. After the match, Triple H walked down the entrance ramp and came out in the crowd, right in front of where my friend and I were sitting, we got to shake his hand and everything, real class act. I definitely was not expecting a good show tonight, especially with the level of shows RAW has been putting on lately, but I was pleasently surprised. Although it was more entertainment then workrate, it was still voerall a very enjoyable experience for my twenty five dollars. I'll post some pictures in a bit.
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7QvTP1-12s...ndys%20training So awesome.
  23. Now see, I was the toal opposite. I was a huge Hogan mark, and seeing him get killed on The Brother Love Show scared the shit out of me back in the day. His debut where he squashes The Warrior on the other hand...... So, Let's discuss, what's your favorite Earthquake match / moment? The one segment that always sticks out in my mind was his feud with Yokozuna in 1994, which led to the Sumo Match on RAW. It was pretty stupid, but it was different at the same time. I remember being pissed too the enxt week then they replaced Eqarthquake in the KOTR tournament with Doink, after showing clips of him getting squashed at a House Show.
  24. So I was at this Indy show last night, and one of the guys on the card was Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Now Hacksaw, the poor guy, looked terrible. I know the man beat cancer, and as far as other people in his age bracket go, he doesn't look too bad, but he still looks like a 55 year old guy out there in the ring. The question I have though, is when these legends like Duggan or Snuka wrestle on these Indy Shows out in the middle of no where, are they doing it because they just enjoy wrestling, they like meetign the fans, and just come out to have fun, or are they doing it because they legitimately need the couple hundred bucks they get from the payoff to make a living? Are some of these guys going to be wrestling into their 60's and 70's just to keep making enough money to pay the bills?
