    RAW Rating

That 5.0 has to be like a 3 year high, doesn't it?

    Bowfinger

Holy Man was easily one of the worst films in recorded history. Anyways, Bowfinger is a really smart, funny, original comedy, there's really no other film like it.
  3. Copy and pasted from prowreslting.com who copy and pasted from PWInsider.com -It is looking more and more like WWE will move from Spike TV over to USA Networks. There is already some motion between both sides which would indicate that this move is becoming more and more likely. Also, if Raw is to move to USA there is a good chance that Smackdown! will be dropped from UPN and will also end up on USA. This may mean that Smackdown! will change nights in the future and may even become a live show after the change. -There is still talk of turning Randy Orton heel in the future and this may also play into the fact of having him go against Undertaker at WrestleMania 21. Since right now, both Orton and Taker are considered "babyfaces" then it would make the match more marketable and also set Orton up with a possible match with Batista in the future.

    Rob Van Dam DVD

I went out to a few stores today looking for the RVD DVD, but so far have turned up with nothing. Amazon.com has it listed as a "Special Order" title which is usually code for "It hasn't shipped yet or we ran out of copies". Has anyone seen it in stores today?

    WWE's Tape Library

Ok, I was thinking about this today, and it had me wondering. Now I'm sure WWEs complete video archive in Stamford is probobly expansive beyond our wildest imagination, but what exactly do the companies save, and what do they discard? WWE has several cameras taping the action during TV Tapings, and even stuff like dark matches and commercial breaks are filmed. Obviously what is caught by all the different cameras is edited and spliced to provide the best possible view on television. But once WWE is done with the live footage from their events, do they discard it and only leave the finished product that airs on TV for their archive? It wouldn't seem logical to me that they'd have two tapes of every show, a live version and a TV version. Also, do thye keep archives of other stuff like clip shows, foreign shows, and other crap with little to no value? I'm just trying to conceive how WWE must have all this stuff archived and catalouged, it just seems impossible to be that they have 30 years of footage from 4 different promotions all organized and catalouged. That must take up like an entire warehouse.

    The Age of Jobbers

I think it could work, but it would have to be a much much gradual process done over the course of like a year or so. You have to ween the fans off expecting headline matches on every show.

    WWE's Tape Library

Yeah, actually now that you mention it, I do somewhat remember a few local news broadcasts mentioning it, and airing what appeared to be footage shot by a fan with a handheld camera. I do believe though that the very instant (A few seconds before Owen actually hit the ground) WWE knew something was wrong, they killed most of the lights, so even the live crowd didn't get to see a whole lot.

    Action Figures Thread

Yeah, the Tag Team sets were available in very limited quantities shortly before Christmas, only at Toys R Us. All three sets skyrocketed in value very quickly, with LOD in particularl worth well over 100 dollars now.

    WWE Married Wrestler/ Diva Affair?

From what I've heard, this story is legit, there's no angle here folks.

    What If....

They were pretty intent on burying Pillman during that Goldust feud, so I don't imagine he would have lasted much longer then 1998 or so, at least in the WWF.
  12. I believe it was the increased antimosity between them and the Hart Foundation that led them to turn heel. The fans were siding more then the Harts then the Demos so they had Demolition cut a screw the fans type promo. As for the Crush deal, straight from Herb Kunze's RSPW news update on 6/11/90 "- Brian Adams (?) is Demolition's new partner. He will fight has B.A., which stands for Bad Attitude. He has apparently already made appearances at house shows featuring Demolition vs. Hart Foundation, interfering on behalf of Demolition who win with a screw job or get disqualified. Perhaps Vince is going to make the Warriors faces after all. ."

    Worst booked title reign ever?

It's clear that the WWE has no intent on EVER having any legitimate cruiserweight matches, let alone a legit division. They simply don't want to take the spotlight off the main eventers. If Vince lets Rey Mysterio and Chavo Guerrero go out there and do whatever for 20 minutes, it would probobly be exciting, and the crowd would probobly get into it, but then when it's time for the main event, that same crowd would likely shit all over JBL vs Big Show or whatever. If you don't expose the crowd to good wrestling, they're less likely to notice the bad wrestling. A good example of this is WM 3. All reports said that Hogan was furious at Savage and Steamboat for stealing the show, and he used his clout to pretty much bury both guys for the next year afterwards.

    WWE's Tape Library

I'm pretty sure I had read that Vince had the tape of the actual fall destroyed so he could never be subpoened and forced to submit it as evidence during a trial. I do remebmer reading though that he did have one camera completely fixed on Owen while he was in the ring and the paramedics worked on him for his own liablity.
  15. Rocky Maivia what the WWE was banking on to make Rocky a star was a complete flop to the point of fans having Die Rocky Die signs. They were banking on Dwayne Johnson, when you cut down to it. He came through. That's the only instance when guys who are crammed down the fans throats manage to be successful, when they have the Charisma to work the crowd, this is why The Rock was so successful. While it's true, there will likely never be another Rock in our lifetime, charisma and mic skills are enough to overcome even the worst booking. Orton has none of this at all, and will likely be a faded memory in the mid-card by the summer. Cena almost has what it takes, but he's still not quite there yet. A hard fought loss in the main event at WM and a jump to RAW would probobly do it for him though. They definitly have something with Batista, as long as they don't muck it up, which they probobly will.
  16. This is another big problem, WWE trying to push all these big guys hoping they'll catch on and be the next Brock Lesnar. The thing with Lesnar though is that not only was he huge, but he had the skills in the ring to back it up as well. Sure, he couldn't talk worth a damn, but that's why they gave him a mouthpiece manager. The only thing guys like Heidenreich have going for them is that they can shout angrily and look somewhat menacing. I still think Snitsky could catch on though as a modern day Sid Vicious type, if only they weren't so intent on jobbing him non-stop to Kane and killing any credibility he might have. Not that he's any good or anything, but they could probobly pull a few decent drawing PPV main events out of him.
  17. The next big thing in wrestling is usually something that comes completely out of left field. Rarely are guys like Cena and Orton who are built up and "groomed" for the main event successful, and history has shown that. Look at todays crop of main eventers now, and look at where they were 10 years ago, and you'll see my point. Wrestlers can't be groomed for success, the fans are the ones who make that decision, and it either happens or it doesn't.

When was the WWF the worst off?

I think King Mable was the absolute rock bottom for the company, everything after that just kept going up. Even now while we're on a decline, we still haven't reached a King Mabel level of bad yet.

I'll need to figure out how to transfer my tapes to PC so I can upload TAKA vs Triple H.... On another note, anyone have The Rock vs Brooklyn Brawler?

Your WWE Hall of Fame picks

Oh God no. Hey, from what I've heard Duggan was an outstanding brawler in memphis, and had some awesome matches with guys like Ted Dibiase in the mid-80's, but if we're just basing this on his WWF run, then yeah he's a lousy choice.

I know it's still early, and we're still getting through the WM 1 Era guys, but do you think one day Honky Tonk Man has a shot of getting in?

Your WWE Hall of Fame picks

Why not have a special induction each year for Tag Teams? Sure, seperately Barry Darsow and Bill Eadie have no right being inducted, but together you could make a hell of a case. Same goes for a lot of guys, like The Bushwhackers, The Nasty Boys, The Natural Disasters, etc.

    Most Humiliating Losses

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Steve Austin losing to Jim Duggan in seven seconds yet.
