    Averagest wrestlers of all time?

John Cena, ok the crowd loves him, but everything else he does is totally average.
  3. Man, as much as I hate to see the death of the video rental industry (ok, maybe not the major chains like Blockbuster), I love it when the last few reamining mom and pop stores decide to fold and clear everything out. This one place near me started selling everything off today, and seemed to mostly want to get rid of whatever they had left rather then get a profit. DVDs were 3 for 20, VHS were 2 for 10. For about 70 bucks I picked up DVD: No Mercy 2003 The Stone Cold Truth Unforgiven 2003 Summerslam 2004 Backlash 2004 No Way Out 2004 No Way Out 2003 Judgement Day 2003 VHS: Wrestlemania 14 Canadian Stampede St. Valentines Day Massacre Royal Rumble 2000 Bashed in the USA Im drooling over the day the one last mom and pop place in town here closes so I can pick over their Coliseum Video and NWA Masters.

    Video Store Closings Rule

Heh, yeah the DVDs are mostly of really crappy recent shows, but they're still pretty expensive, so I picked them up regardless.

    Video Store Closings Rule

Yeah, I've been collecting for years, between driving around to all the various video stores that have existed int he area over the past 10 years or so, I've managed to get copies of just about every WWF PPV, and quite a bit of WCW. The only real holes in collection at the hard to find In Your House Shows, and just about everything between 1998-2000. I'd still love to replace my worn out old first generations with masters though.

    WWE House Show

Depends on the arena. A lot of newer arenas now have special entrances and parking lots for the talent blocked away from public view, so you can't get anywhere near the wrestlers.

    Live Smackdown Report

I just came back from the Casino from what was a pretty good Smackdown taping tonight. Unfortunatly I missed the opening Lonely Road of Fate video due to rediculously long lines at the souveneir stands due to incompetant employees. Opening match had Paul London wrestling a pretty bland match against Chris Cage. Lots of rest holds, and a few long headlocks left the crowd bored by the end. Velocity taping begin with Hardcore Holly beating jobber John Walters in what was pretty much a squash. Renee Dupree came out with his poodle to a pretty decent amount of heat. He wrestled a decent match against Nunzio, eventually pinning him after a slam. Bizarre moment during this match came when the crowd started a USA chant. Booker T defeated Spike Dudley in what was again pretty much a squash. Booker hit his usual spots including the Spinaroonie and finished Spike off with a Scissors kick. Final Match had Orlando Jordan defeating Chavo Guerrero in a good back anbd forth match. Smackdown began with Eddie Guerrero driving the Lowrider out onto the set, and doing his usual stuff with the car. Rey made his entrance by launching up through a ramp off to the side of the entrance ramp. Great high flying match that had a number of great spots and reversals. Finish came with Eddie accidently knocked out the ref, and grabbed the belt to fool the ref into thinking Rey knocked him out. Before the ref sees this, Rey grabs the belt and puts it on Eddie making it looks like Eddie hit him. After a brief comedy spot which saw Eddie trying to hide the belt, both guys started arguing which led to Rey reversing a rollup for the pin. No pop at all for Paul Heymans return in a viginette where Heidenreich talks about being afraid of Caskets, and Heyman promising to have the match changed. Carlito Carriben Cool makes his entrance right before Funaki vs Akio come out for their match. The Cruiserweight match goes on without enaything of note, and served mainly as a distraction for Carlitos antics with some petition he was having people sign. Funaki eventually won the match, and after it was over Carlito spit apple at some Diva who was doing time keeping or something at ringside Heyman and Heidenreich confront Teddy Long and request that the stipulation be changed. Long tels the two of them that if they can defeat Undertaker is a handicap match tonight, they can change the stipulation of the match Angle is seen backstage taling to Jindrak and Reigns when Amy Webber comes into the locker rom and asks to meet with Angle later in private. Angle comes out for his matgch and gets on the mic. He says that tonight he's having a special Kurt Angle Invitational where if he can't beat his opponent in less then 3 minutes, he'll hand his gold medal over to his opponent. His opponent is some local indy guy whose name I forget, but Angle destroys him in about 25 seconds. Another pointless backstage segment sees Daniel Puder get all rude with Miss Jackie and some other diva backstage Battlerap Segment with John Cena and Kenzo Suzuki comes next. Kenzo comes out dressed as Uncle Sam. Kenzo begins on the mic, and it was really difficult to comprehend what he was saying, but most of it was talking about how he likes America. Cenas turn is next and he goes on about Kenzo being gay and stuff. Then for reasons I do not understand he brings out three MORE women, who Kenzo begins hitting on. Segmetn ends with Hiroko getting mad at one of the women Kenzo is hitting on and attacking her. Cena puls her off and fights with Kenzo. This segment was really long and dragged quite a bit. The crowd was really into Cena though. Next match has RVD fighting Doug Basham. Doug Basham came out with Danny and Orlando Jordan. RVD comes out with Rey. Rey gets ejected to the back towards the beginning of the match for interfering. Match ends with the Bashams doing the old Demolition Switcheroo gimmick and Doug hitting a DDT on RVD to win. Angle shows up in Amys dressing room and walks up to the shower, which has someone in it. He strips down to his underwear, and it turns out it's not the right woman in the shower, it's some other faceless bimbo. The woman screams and runs and goes to Big Show for protection. Big Show and Angle brawl to the ring, where Jidrak and Reigns come out to help out. Big Show ends up beating up all 3 guys. Backstage segment shows JBL praising Amy for setting up Kurt, this is the only time JBL is seen on the TV portion of the show. One last segment is shown with Heidenreich getting ready to fight Undertaker. Heidenreich makes his entrance with Paul Heyman. Undertaker coems out. Match goes on with the usual Undertaker crap, and after about 4 minutes, music starts playing, and the druids wheel out a couple of caskets. Heidenreich goes apeshit, tags in Heyman, and runs to the back. Heyman gets the tombstone, and shoved into the casket. End of show. After the cameras rolled, JBL and Orlando come out and challange Undertaker to a two on one No DQ Casket match. This end up being a back and forth, not-bad, match which ends with Undertaker tombstoning JBL and shoving both guys into the second casket. Overall it really wasn't a bad show. I had great seats for only 20 bucks, and could see everything that was going on. One thing though that WWE needs to put a stop to is all these nameless, faceless women that have been appearing on TV lately. They server no purpose at all, no one cares about them, and they are a waste. I must have seen at least 8 different women on the show tonight, and recognized about 3 of them.

Most of The Rocks best stuff came during the attitude era, which would require much blurring of the footage.

    Live Smackdown Report

Okay, honest quesion. Outside of Taker and Yoko, who ever actually *did* come back from a loss in a Casket Match? Depends on what you mean. Kamala and Mable both worked matches after their casket match losses to Undertaker, but they were both heading towards the end of their usefulness to the company afterwards. Mankind did the job to Undertkaer in a casket numerous times in 1996 and still went on to headline PPVs. Other then that though, most of the other Casket matches were worked against mid-carders like Adam Bomb and Jerry Lawler on House Shows and most of those guy never meant much to begin with.

    Live Smackdown Report

The way I figure it, WWE will just rehash 1994. Undertaker vs Heidenreich at the Royal Rumble will end with JBL, Orlando, Bashams, Renee Dupree, Angle, Jindrak, and Reigns all coming out and hitting their finisher on Undertaker and putting him in the casket. Undertaker is taken off TV for a few months, then around May Paul Heyman returns and claims he is going to bring back the Undertaker. He brings in Brian Lee as his own Heel Undertaker, eventually leading to the Real Undertaker coming back to fight Paul Heymans Undertaker at Summerslam.

    Live Smackdown Report

The Battlerap segment dragged on for over 10 minutes, so I imagine some of it will be edited. No actually scratch that, Eddie vs Rey will be clipped down to 5 minutes, and the battlrap will air in full, I forgot this is WWE we're talking about. *Edit Again* Now that I think about it, there were a few off color remarks made by Cena during the segment which would probobly wouldn't fit broadcast standards, so some of the segment probobly will be edited.

    Paul Heyman Released

We are clearly at the beginning of a long cycle downwards which will lead to the end of the WWE. This isn't 1989, or 1993, or 1995, this is much worse. In a few years, we will be reminiscing about the wonderful days of Vince Russo booked era of WCW. At it's worst, what is soon to come will be 10x worse then WCW, simply because of the fact that they're still (as of now) making a profit, and they are their own independent company with far greater cash reserves. Vince is no spring chicken, once he is no longer physically able to run the company, the shit will hit the fan. I envision Wrestlemania 26 making King of the Ring 1995 look like Great American Bash 1989.

    The 1984ification of IDOT

It's pretty much a known fact that most minor traffic violations that police stop people for and give tickets for like going slightly above the speed limit, rolling through a stop sign, going through a red light when you're the only person ont he raod at 3 in the morning, not wearing seatbelts, etc. are little more then just additional taxes used to fund the system.

One Man Gang never really wore any traditional wrestling gear.
  19. You know when you get depressed, when the little things in life just kind of gang up on you, as bad as things seem, you still have that glimmer of optimism? That one tiny grain of hope that maybe things will get better? What does it take for a person to lose that hope in their lives? What does it take for a person to be able to say to themselves, "You know what, my life probobly isn't going to get a whole lot better, so I might as well make due with the cards life has dealt me". Is it even possible to reach this point? Is any personal problem, no matter how demanding, possible to overcome, or does one eventually reach a point where they've either created conditions for themselves or have too many outside factors which they have no control over that their place in life is pretty firmly cemented? I've heard two schools of thought on this. The way I feel is that once you've accepted your lot in life, you can learn to deal with whatever potential problems that may occur, and end up being a pretty happy person, even if you do feel a certain emptiness inside. This is me. The other argument I hear is that through hard work, and persistance, you can overcome anything, and make whatever you want out of your life. My feeling on this though is that a lot of times you end up miserable when following this route, because you inevitably set your expectations higher then you could possibly achieve. Now I don't want this to turn into a "100,000 people just died instantly in Asia and you're worrying about your stupid ass problems" kind of discussion, because that's not what this is about. This is about the stupid personal problems that we all have to deal with in our lives. So what do you think?

    Losers you have encountered

What I always encounter at WWE shows are. A. The Young Children who act as obnoxious as possible whose parents won't tell them to sit down and shut the fuck up. B. The semi-drunk hick types who just randomly shout things at the workers even though he's on top of the balcony far away from where any of them could hear you. C. The morons who wave their stupid unoriginal signs ten feet in the air thus blocking the view of about three sections worth of people behind them. D. The guys who go crazy once the camera is pointed somewhere near their section and they can almost sorta see themselves on the titantron
  22. Well it seems pretty much agreed upon that the triple threat from Wrestlemania is MOTY for 2004, so lets get to the much more interesting debate, which match was the worst? Now from the standpoint of sheer supidity and pointlessness, the overall worst match this year workrate wise was probobly Steven Richards vs Tyson Tomko at Unforfgiven. BUT, as bad as that match was, I still have to go with Brock vs. Goldberg. That match by all rights should have been something, but you could tell that right from the opening bell, both guys could hear the crowd response, and simply chose not to give a rats ass about the match. The crowd just shit all over the match, they booed every spot, every move, the only pop came when the match was over. Even Austin at the end got overwhelming boos even after stunning both guys. Although Tomko vs Richards may have been a worse match, Brock vs Goldberg is still my choice for worst match of the year. Other Possible Candidiates: Undertaker vs Dudleyz Great American Bash Undertaker vs Heidenreich Survivor Series Brock Lesnar vs Hardcore Holly Royal Rumble Undertaker vs Kane Wrestlamania XX Hardcore Holly vs Mordecai Great American Bash (Notice a trend here?)

    Best WWE DVD

I still love my Hulk Still Rules DVD
  24. The thing with someone like Heyman though is that he's a valuable commodity, and WWE knows this. If they were to release him from his contract, TNA or any other upstart promotion would snap him up in minutes, and with his knowlege and experience with the buisness, could likely use him to become a major competitor. Once his contract runs out though, Heyman can do whatever the hell he wants though. It's the same thing with Bischoff or any successful writer really.
