Wrestlemania 9, Hulk Hogan vs Yokozuna. I would haveabolished the match, and just had Yokozuna squahs Hogan once and for all at KOTR.

They also should recognize the hardest workers of all, the jobbers, Carlos Colon, Barry Horowitz, SD Jones, Steve Lombardi in all his various forms, "Iron" Mike Sharpe, and all the rest should have their own special place in the hall of fame.

A majority of classic Niuck Stuff like Pete and Pete, Clarissa, and the Game Shows and Cartoons air on Nicks digital channels , Nicktoons TV, Nick GAS, and Noggin. Despite the fond memories we all have of these shows being entertaining back in the day, most of them really don't hold up well at all today.

TV shows that lost their "place in history"
spman replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Television & Film
ALF was a pretty geeky show, but yeah they had pretty much stretched the gimmick as far it could have gone by the time the series was canned in 1990. The reason for the cliffihanger ending was becuase thyehad no idea the series was going ot get canned, so they filmed that last episode thinking that they would be picked up for a fifth season. Unfortuantly, the show was canned after production of season 4, so the series ended with a cliffhanger. The story was continued to a satisfactory ending in the 1996 made for TV movie Project ALF. Well if we're going to include Daytime, then I think Meet the Press is on Season 56. -
I'll believe it when I see it. As far as I know, Nick doesn't own the rights to ANY episodes of You Can't Do That on Television, and it's doubtful they'd be able to obtain them so quickly. The poll isn't even working right now, so it's likely that they're just going to fix the poll to have one of those other two lame shows win. I think both Clarissa and Alex Mack air on Noggin anywyas. Man do those shows suck.

So what WWF and WCW PPVs weren't released to the
spman replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
A majorrity of the early In Your House type PPVs, including, but not limited to IYH 2, Good Friends Better Enemies, Mind Games, It's Time, A Cold Day in Hell, and Ground Zero were released in limited numbes available only through WWF Magazine. Degeneration X (The PPV) on the other hand got lost in the shuffle between the transistion from Coliseum Home Video to WWF Home Video, and never got any home video release outside the UK. Anyone know why Souled Out 1997 never got released on VHS? I'd really like to see that show. -

I actually think Married with CHildren is kind of odd with the way it evolved. The first couple seasns are nothing special, it didn't pick up and become laugh out loud funny untill the early to mid-ninties, then it sank again by the final season. -
I'm not used to buying PPV tickets, only Tickets to House SHows and TV Tapings, which are usually advertised well before ticket go on sale. Well, Prowrestlinginsider.com says that tickets for the Vengence PPV in Hartford go on sale this Saturday, but there's no mention of it at all on WWE's website or on the Ticketmaster Site. Does WWE usually wait this long to officially annonce PPV venues and on sale dates? Maybe I should just wait for RAW tomorrow and see if they air any local ads....

Definitly Drew Carrey. The first three or four seasons is classic, but somewhere alogn the line, oh I'll say when Drew's Brother and Mimi Get married, the show just ran out of steam and relied rtoo much on gimmick peisodes and rediculous plotlines. I think I stopped watching for good around the time Drew went into a coma and met the baby, and then woke up and married two women without the other knowing. -
Amazon.com lists July 27th as the release date for this.

Looks like a picture from one of the house shows from this past weekend. It's about time WWE had a Supervillan for Hurricane to feud with. EDIT: I'll host that for you - Nik.
-
THanks for hosting the image. Hopefully this is something that'll make it to RAW and not be some pointless Heat feud no one will see or care about.

Yeah, it's definitly a RAW show, with Benoit v Edge as the proboble main event, and no Triple H or Michaels likely on the card.

Well, it's slim pickings as far as Race's WWF run goes, I dodn't remebmer him really having ANY decent matches, although he did some decent stuff with Hogan. They should ahve included the JYD vs Kamala match where they spend the first five minutes barking at each other.
-
Race s JYD isn't the WM III match, it's from SNME in 87
-
According to Meltzer, it's going to start out with 20 hours of programming per month presented in a best of series, so say September would be BEst of Hulk Hogan October would be Best of Andre the Giant, etc.
-
Wow, it would take about eight and a half years non-stop to watch all of the footage WWE currently owns the rights to.

What is the whole deal with Bruno Sammartino and WWE? Can someone explain that to me? I think it was always just more or less Bruno Sammartino being bitter about the direction professional wrestling was going at the time of his retirement, less sports and more entertainment, and he blames it all on Vince.

That's usually how it goes on this board. Just hope you never misspell any important words in the sbject lines of a post because you can't change that, and you'll never hear the end of it.

I nevr really thought it was real per se, I guess I just evolved into learning the whole truth when I got on the Internet.

Well here it is, the Wrestlemania XX DVD. It comes in a hard covered casing and almost looks like a book. It's three discs, Disc one has the first half of the show, Disc 2 has the second half, and the first set of extras, and disc three is all extras. Now here comes the dissapointing part, the extras. Disc 2 is mostly just filler, Post Match comments, Confidential Pieces, stuff from Heat, the usual stuff you see on the DVDs. The third disc is comprised of three main parts The Mania of Wrestlemania show from UPN. The Ten Greatest Wrestlemania Matches show from TNN, and a reprint of the information on past Wrestlemanias taken directly from the Wrestlemania website. The Mania of Wrestlemania has three deleted scenes on it. The Ten Greatest Matches is exactly as broadcast on TNN, WWE didn't even bother to include the full matches or anything. The information on past Wrestlemanias is exactly the same stuff that could be found on the website, including Results, Pictures, Facts, and Trivia. Finally there is a brief trivia game which features ten moderatly difficult questions about Wrestlemania. Pictures will come soon, then I want to see if they dilluted the crowd at all on Lesnar vs Goldberg.

Which Hart brother was it that died shortly before the 1990 Survivor Series show? They make mention of it on the show, but I don't remember if they mentioned his name. Also, what did he die of? If I'm thinking of the right person, I think I remember hearing that he had died suddenly because of some really bizarre illness like Ebola or something. Anyone know?

In these days of overnight UPS deliveries, a 2 week wait for shipping is pretty long. Like I said, It's not the wait that I care about, it just would have been nice if on the site he mentions that he ships from Canada and thus there would be an extra delay during the shipping process. It also would be nice if he replied to his e-mails.
