"We don't advertise to kids... I mean...We do now"
spman replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
I always laugh when WWE says they don't advertise towards children, but they allow their advertisers to air commercials for whatever the newest Spy Kids or whatever that's coming out in theaters that won't be seen by anyone over the age of ten. -
Just have Rosie and Hurricane win the belts in an upset victory, and then team up a couple of guys from OVW to come in and be superdominant right away like Demolition or soemthing. Have them squash La Resistance, and Lance Storm and Garrison cade over two weeks,a nd then hae them flatten Rosie and Hurricane for the belts at whatever PPV in like 30 seconds. That'd be a bit better.

Great show overall. Foley and Orton went all out, I was cringing at the sight of all the tacks imbedded in Ortons back. The main event was great, and even Coach vs Tajiri was surprisingly solid with the psychology of Coach working Tajiri's leg and all. The rest of the show wasn't terrible by any means, not great either, but entertaining still. Edge is DOA after his comeback in one of the most boring matches I've seen in a long time. Unless Smackdown does something crazy for their uyndercard, there's no way they can top this, especailly with the main event of Eddie vs Bradshaw which is just doing to kill the buyrate.

One And Only Beg For A Backlash Webcast Pass Threa
spman replied to BoboBrazil's topic in The WWE Folder
YOu know, we have these every month, but have we ever actually gotten anyone to give up their password for the webcast? -
Wouldn't it be cheaper and make more sense just to air Classic WWF Programming to start and gain interest towards WWE 24/7? Hell. it'd do better ratings anyways. I'd be shocked if this recap crap every broke a 1.0 rating. Classic WWF could draw AT LEAST a 2.5 every week.
-
I always thought it would be great if they repackaged La Resistance with the old Fabulous Rougeau Brothers gimmick. Have them announce that they're moving to AMerica and have them wave miniature American flags and become faux American sympathizers, but still have them be heels as the same time

I can't remember Nathan Jones ever exceeding DUD in the handfull of matches he had in his WWE run, and I doubt he did much better in WWA. Volkoff is a tough one, as far as his WWF run goes, the flag match with Hogan on SNME was probobly the best of the worst, but he had quite a long career in wrestling before then so I'm sure he MUST have had something atleast margainally better.

Some guys like A-Train and Kane are often considerd to be notoriously bad workers, but who do you think is the worst of all time? In this discussion you have to consider two factors 1. Length of their career- Yeah, guys like Zeus, Ludvig Borga, Nailz, Nathan Jones. etc. were black holes of workrate, but their careers were very short, usually only lasting a handfull of notable matches over the course of a year or less, so they really can't be fairly considerd with other awful workers whose careers spanned multiple years. 2. Position on the card- Yeah, El Gigante sucked, but he only worked lower card feuds in matches that lasted three minutes or less. Again, bad, but not as offensive as the turds who acutally got upper mid-card, or even main event pushes. My nominee? Ed Leslie. Hogans BUTT buddy was pushed in every pomotion Hogan was a part of, despite a complete lack of any talent. He main evented a few WWF shows, and almost won the IC Title had it not have been for the parasailing accident. His six year run in WCW was even worse, as he was often a part of some of the worst matches and angles imaginable. If you want crappy wrestling, look no further then Ed Leslie. Other possible Nominees- Jim Duggan, Big Bossman, Sid Vicious. Awful workers I give a free pass to due to reasons outside of ring work - Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Ultimate Warrior, and The Undertaker.
-
Warrior ahd ahcraisma and was over though. His impact and contribution to the buisness absovles him from his shitty workrate.
-
I'm pretty sure John Tenta had a match with Ray Trailer in WCW which went like *** or so. It was the one with the bag of quarters on a pole or something where if you get the bag you can use it on your opponent.

Best of COnfidential 2 was canned. The Confidential segments are just being added to whatever DVD they'd be relevent on.
-
I'm sure they'll likely replay the entire Confidential series again starting from the first episode which would take them to the end of the Summer, and then at that point decide what to do.

Yup, the lazy bastards contract expired today, and it doesn't look like he's accepting WWE's temrs on a new contract. It's being reported that he might make one last run with Scott Hall in TNA and / or Japan. Thank the lord that he's off my TV anyways.

I was gonna say Jeet too, but I really wasn't familliar with his work. His son TIger Ali Singh was supposedly just as bad, but atleast his role in the WWF most mostly limited to a manager. Here's another name, Lex Luger. Has Luger ever been anything more then an overpushed roid monster?
-
On a similar note, was the Second Savage vs Flair title match where Flair wins the belt for a second time any good? Was it ever released on video?
-
The Hart Foundation one is really good. Smack Em Whack Em has 2 really over rated amtches on it.
-
He's the bastard son of Bastion Booger and Bertha Faye!

I highly doubt WWE would consider having a major PPV like summerslam abroad in England. Because of the difference of time, the show would ahve to be pretaped, and I don't think WWE wants to have spoilers leaked for it's second biggest Pay Per View of the year. It happened in 1992, and it did cause a minr impact on the buyrate.

RAW 2 has to be the worst offender of this. You could have matches with Hulk Hogan that go for 25 minutes. You could squash Hogan, and hit your finisher on him five tiem in a row and he'll still Hulk up, give you the big boot, the leg drop, and pin you in about a span of 30 seconds.

I will most surely chnge the channel anytime Stephanie Mcmahon is on screen.

Xevious and Ice Climbers were both huge hits in Japan, and these ae just ports of the Famicom Mini Games that were released in Japan, so they're just porting them as well.

Remember One Man Gangs tranformation into Akeem the African Dream?

I always had an idea for a segment where someone is having a copnversation with Eric Bishoff and suddenly in the background a time machine appears! A wrestler coems out and claims he is the world champion from the year 3000, he has beaten all the competition in his time, and has no more worthy challangers. He has decided to travel back in time and challange the superstars from 1000 years in the past whom his people revere as legends of their time! It could work....maybe.
