That probrably stems from Kobe getting everything he wanted when all the smoke cleared. Yes, Shaq is selfish, but Kobe is no saint in this. He ran the coach and number one option out of town because the owner is infatuated with him. For Kobe to say that he had nothing to do with Shaq and Phil no longer with the Lakers and that he's hurt and angry when people insinuate to it is laughable. He got what he wanted: his own team with the guys he percieved in his way to being the next Jordan now out of the way along with $136 million in his pocket. Just because his tone came off ok, doesn't mean he isn't selfish. To say that Phil and Shaq left to do "what was best for them and their families" is a joke. The Lakers will be more fun to watch IMO, but for Kobe to go and bold face lie like that is insulting.

Fisher leaving the Lakers hurt their depth at PG because it's Payton and, well, that's about it. I think Fisher saw the writing on the wall and figured between Payton and Bryant with no handcuffs on anymore, he wouldn't be seeing the ball except during warmups. I'm not sure this really improves GS, but it gives me someone to watch since I'm moving to the bay area now

They should. The Clippers should not be sharing Staples with the Lakers or the city of LA because they don't belong there. They should try to get more dollars from the rich folks that live in Anaheim because any rich people worth their salt in LA go to Laker games.

Everything points to him remaining as a Laker. They have done everything he has wanted which includes axing the coach he hates, axing the one player he hates, and getting a max contract. With legal fees piling up and his future divorce on the horizon (you are high if you think his marriage will last) he can use the extra 30 million the Lakers can give him in the last year of he deal. If he goes to the Clippers, he will have single handedly decimated the entire Laker franchise and force all those Hollywood bandwagon actors to become Clipper fans. :: goes into corner and prays Kobe becomes a Clipper ::

I find it fascinating that when Divac starts being talked about in Purple and Gold, he is all of a sudden younger and a bigger impact player. However, when spoken of in Kings terms, he is a shriveled up old man who needs to hang it up.

Sass, you've got a lot more faith in Rudy T than I do. That team you listed is decent and is definitely a playoff team. However, I do not feel it is a championship team. Those guys have to gel and get acclimated in a new system before I can start to call them a championship type team.

Shaq's salary was so high they couldn't make the deal work with more guys from LA is why it was 3 for 1. Payton may still have a smidge of value since Tomjanovich will probrably run a more traditional offense of the point and number one option touching the ball more. Fisher will prove to be a below average point IMO because his spot up jump shooting is his best offensive asset. He is a suspect ball handler, is not the fastest guy and won't burn most point guards off the dribble and is not creative enough off the dribble to either take the ball to the rim consistently or draw a double through penetration and kick to the open guy. Defensively, he is a very good on the ball defender, but he can be beat by the younger guys. Fisher is very overrated IMO.

I don't think Shaq will win a championship in Miami, but I do think a move to the East will help prolong his career a smidge because the comp is more lax. I also think he'll have a chip on his shoulder and will want to prove his detractors wrong by coming into camp in shape. I think he'll have a very good year, he just won't win a championship.
