    NBA Offseason News and Moves

If the deal is Odom, Grant, and future #1, then I think it's worth it because you still have great perimeter players like Butler, Wade, and Eddie Jones around Shaq. Along with the emergence of Udonis Haslem, the Heat would instantly become at least Eastern Conference contenders. From LA's side, it shores up PF with Malone not sure what he wants to do and gives them the solid 3 man in Odom that they have lacked for awhile. Odom can also play some 4 during small lineup changes or stretches where LA wants to go small.

    NOAH 7/10 Tokyo Dome Results...

Actually, if NOAH and AJPW start working together as was shown last night and possibly for AJPW's next big show, Misawa could definitely be looking to put the title on either Muto or Kawada to do big business. Here is a question to the few puro marks here. Would you be interested in a renewed feud with Kawada vs Misawa if both men were to put personal differences aside to do business? They have both been away from each other for awhile now, so I wonder if they had another match or series of matches, if it would succeed, from an in ring standpoint as well as a business one?

    Anyone up for Fantasy Football?

Problem is he isn't carrying the Titans anymore. Is he even on a team right now?

I'm eliminating George off of my list in my prerankings unless he scores a home, and even then I may still leave him. I'd take crackhead Willie Green, who probrably won't even play over Eddie George.

    Bush Military records destroyed......

I'm listening to Savage right now and even he is questioning what's going on with Bush's records.

Their numbers speak for themselves. Alexander has had double digit TD's the last 3 seasons. Portis could've had Tomlinson/Holmes numbers if he would've played all 16 games. There is a natural hesitation about Portis because he is going into a new system, but he should still be an effective back, a definite top 6'er.

    If anyone can't make the draft live, you should definitely go to the fantasy home page and edit the pre rankings. While the first 2 picks are dead on and the the first 6 are solid, the rest of the rankings are VERY suspect and I'd be mad if that's how I were to be drafting. Here are yahoo's top 25 in order.. 1. P. Holmes 2. L. Tomlinson 3. D. McAllister 4. A. Green 5. S. Alexander 6. J. Lewis 7. S. Davis 8. E. James 9. C. Portis 10. R. Moss 11. M. Faulk 12. T. Henry 13. M. Harrison 14. R. Williams 15. T. Holt 16. D. Culpepper 17. F. Taylor 18. C. Johnson 19. S. Moss 20. C. Dillon 21. K. Barlow 22. A. Boldin 23. H. Ward 24. P. Manning 25. D. Davis

I'm hoping Gibbs will correct some of those offensive woes we had last year under Spurrier. Gibbs is a big proponent for the O-line and it's role in blocking for the RB as well as max protection for the QB. I'm not saying they are going to do a complete 180, but we should improve where we were deficient last year. Harrison is the only guy I would put on the level of Moss. I don't think the McNabb/Owens combo is going to be as potent as people think it will be and eventually TO will be TO and start moaning about how he isn't getting the ball enough. Plus, TO drops more big passes than Moss. Moss was an MVP like candidate last year whereas TO was just a team cancer. Moss > Owens

Hasselbeck will put up strong numbers again this season, so you don't need a new quarterback unless Manning or Culpepper become available. LT, Portis (despite the silliness of razazteca), Williams, and Moss are the order of value from highest to lowest that I'd put the guys you list. LT is probrably going to cost near Holmes anyway. Portis is going to get carries in Wash.,but is a bit of an injury risk because he loves contact, but isn't necessarily built for all of it. Williams is sliding and the O line in Miami has much to be desired. On any given game day, Moss can be as devastating as a top flight RB. He's done wonders for me, so don't be afraid to explore him as an option.

BTW, it's no secret about the top two picks. You aren't going to go wrong with either Holmes or Tomlinson. They are the cream of the crop, the next 5 guys are damn good too, but Holmes and Tomlinson are the top guys.

Damn, once the 16th team gets on board I'm drafting 14th overall. Better get my draft game and research on! Good news is I'll be picking early in the second round, so hopefully I can still get some studs.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

I can agree with that if Cleveland shows upward growth in the next 2-3 years. If not, I can see a guy like Isiah throwing around money and the lure of the big city to LeBron. BTW, LA Times is reporting that Kobe has ruled out the NY Knicks and Denver Nuggets as possible homes and has narrowed down his choices to the Clippers and the Lakers. IMO, Kobe is waiting to see if and when the Lakers can move Shaq. If they won't, don't be surprised to see Kobe actually leave, but I doubt it.

Ginobili re-upping with the Spurs puts them out of the Kobe sweepstakes.

    NBA Offseason News and Moves

If Isiah can't land Kobe (which he probrably won't), I can see him trying to make a play for LeBron in the next few years. LeBron will probrably demand a trade, the Knicks will dump Houston or Marbury and whoever and Isiah and the Knicks will get their man before his rookie contract runs out. Then once that runs out, the Knicks will give LeBron a max contract and he'll be a staple of the Knicks. I'm not a Knicks fan or anything, but I've been an Isiah Thomas fan for awhile and that is a move I think he'll go for.

Where is your word from, Flyboy? Mitch Kupchak has gone on record as saying they won't do a sign and trade for Kobe, however that doesn't mean they won't do one.

Don't forget they are also coached by "The Man", Jerry Sloan. They should be very competitive and exciting to watch next year. (I never thought I'd say that about a Jazz team)

Agreed. With the Jazz re-signing Arroyo to go along with Kirilenko, possibly Boozer, and hopefully a healthy Harpring, the Jazz all of a sudden look like a playoff contender.

That is devastating news for Cleveland. Looks like another year of not making the playoffs for LeBron.

Ginobili > Turkoglu Turkoglu is too inconsistent. Ginobili does have stretches and games where he slowly but surely kills Popovich with boneheaded play, but he's got more upside than Turkoglu. Neither deserve max contracts though, IMO.

Parka, how are we getting players in your league? Draft? Auto-pick? If it's a draft, when is it being held?

Flik, I think you should go to 2 running backs in the yahoo league and eliminate one of the utility positions (either TE/WR or WR/RB)

I'm in the yahoo keeper league as well as LaParkaMarka's league.

I'd go with Kobe first and foremost, but since it's likely he'll stay somewhere in LA, K-Mart would be a close second with Boozer behind him.
