I think Kobe is waiting to see if the Lakers can move Shaq before committing to them. With Nash gone on to the Suns, that wipes out a potential LA/Dallas deal unless Dallas parts with Dirk and Cuban has restated that Dirk is not movable. The only other team that could deal with the Lakers and Shaq would be the Kings and I don't think LA wants to help their rivals at this time. Word on the deal breaker with Sac/LA is Sac doesn't want to part with Bibby and/or Brad Miller. Everyone else is up for grabs, but LA isn't feeling Chris Webber with a hole in his knee, Doug Christie turning 35, or Bobby Jackson in the last year of his contract. Peja would be great, but he is on the level of Brad Miller in that if the Kings don't have to part with him, they won't.

For now. Duncan will surpass him as the best PF of all time when he is finished.

I'm at work and 2 different radio stations confirmed that Marlon Brando is dead at the age of 80. This news is so fresh (as in new) that it isn't up on any news sites yet. I'm positive it'll be up in the next 5 minutes or so. RIP, Marlon.

Very disappointing to hear. DMX is one of my favorite rappers to come out in the last 6 years. He needs to cut out the knuckleheadedness and kick the drug bit. I know he's been trying, but he may need to go to a facility this time. Speaking of Ja Rule cracking on Crackman X, at least he hasn't been taking ecstasy and having relations with a male clothes designer. As you can tell, I hate Ja Rule.

MikeSC is sort of like Anglesault in that a lot of his posts come off as flaming or flame baiting and some are short with nothing good to say, but he almost always backs it up with something down the road. Sometimes that something is pulled out of his ass, but he still eventually backs it up. If all he did was post little flame after little flame with no explanation as to why he is making the little posts, you'd have a case.

Actually now that I think about it, Moore is too smart to get into it with Stern. He knows that as popular as he is, he'll never be as big as Stern and knows he'd lose a pissing contest with the "King of All Media".

As I mentioned in the Brando thread, I think Edward Norton is a handful of great roles away from being mentioned in the same breath as Pacino,De Niro, etc. I dug him in American History X and 25th Hour.

I think Stern will attempt to take credit for swaying the election if Kerry does indeed defeat Bush. Thing is Michael Moore is also going to be claiming credit for it as well. Then they'll war with each other. That's what I'd like to see. A Stern/Moore war over who swayed the 2004 election.

Saw it last night. Excellent movie. I was not bored with the so called slow spots. I thought the action sequences were spectacular and I liked the way the Peter/MJ/Harry triangle progressed. I would grade it an A-/B+, leaning towards A-.

I'd also put Edward Norton in that same boat along with Pitt.

In the big picture I can see this coming back to haunt them, but I think Nash is good for at least 2-3 productive years. Daniels is good, but he's not a true point guard. He's more of a 2 guard. Because he's young, he can still be molded into a point, but his natural game is 2 guard and you can buy some stretches with him at the 1. He's a smart player too. My problem is with the move that brought the Mavs lockerroom cancers like Laetner and Stackhouse.

LOL On another note, it looks like the Suns have come to terms with Steve Nash to the tune of $65 million over 5 years. I think this move gets the Suns back to at least playoff level and takes the Mavs down a notch because they lost their playmaker. With Nash running the break and finishers like Marion and Amare, the Suns should be fun to watch and back to over .500 ball. I like the move.

His 15 minutes in Apocolypse Now was the most brilliant 15 minute performance I can recall in film.

I've seen On the Waterfront and own The Godfather, but this weekend I may try to rent Streetcar named Desire in honor of one of the greats.
