Not sure what to think about this thread beyond the word "gay".

Not sure if they stopped making the Ginseng Sobe or not. I remember flying after taking down some of those. They didn't taste too bad either.

I will avoid this movie like the plague. If I want mindless entertainment, I'll watch Raw and SD, at least they're free.

Let me just say, fuck yeah.

R.I.P = WDI You were fun (at least the porn folder was) while you lasted. Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust.

Em would kill just about anyone in a battle just freestyling. Give him a chance to think it out and write, it'd murder. However, what's on paper and what comes out of the mouth are two different things and I'm not sure Dre would translate to good. Em vs 50 is where the real money is. Ok, now I'll stop commenting. Just looked this story up, it's in the rumors section of allhiphop.com, so take with a grain of salt.

Actually, Dre would be battling 50 through Game because Dre has no desire to get behind the mic. As awesome a producer as Dre is, no way he tries to battle even an elementary MC like 50 behind a mic. Until more comes out of this, I'll wait until commenting further on a potential 50/Dre beef.

The Heat have also had a mandatory dress code before this one was implemented. Seems like teams that have supposed "old school" guys in the front office like Isiah Thomas and Pat Riley were already ahead of the game as opposed to the "new school" types like Mark Cuban and the Maloofs, who have been vocal against the dress code.

I'd go Westbrook because Bell still has to share carries with Mike Anderson and it's a crapshoot as to who will break a game between the two. Westbrook will definitely get his touches and receptions, regardless of who Philly plays.

Who should I start at my second RB position? Kevin Jones (probrable) vs Cle Larry Johnson (probrable) vs Mia

I wonder how ticket sales have gone since this is the first time they've charged people for show's in Orlando?

While I'm all for criminals doing max sentences, I just gotta say... what an idiot.

Bret vs Flair from Souled Out is very underrated. I think even Bret liked the match a lot. Come to think of it, Souled Out 98 was just a damn good show all around.
-
Well, for the old audience, they never officially turned Monty face. However, since the debut on Spike, they've pushed him as a face, so who knows what was going on in the booking of this match.

Another potentially shitty thing is this could effect Liger showing up at all. From what I gather, he's on a tight schedule and may not make it if they have to postpone the show. God, I haven't asked for much, so please have this thing become a tropical storm by the time Sunday rolls around.

Very good episode IMO. I was also digging Drawn Together.
-
As of right now, the tna website is saying everything is going ahead as scheduled. I really hope this doesn't effect this sunday.

Can someone show me a source or something for the terrible ratings where the NBA is about to tank and die according to some in this thread? I know ratings have been effected because almost all the games are on cable except a few weekend games and the Finals and the Finals are still a high ratings grabber in regular television, in particular the 04 Finals between the Lakers and Pistons, which saw a 67% increase in viewership. This year's finals slowed down until games 5-7 because, well, game 7's tend to have high viewership. I know live attendance was higher than it has ever been, post Michael Jordan. Question for Mike, if you hate the NBA so much, which is pretty clear by your statements, why do you care what the players wear? Why bother? If this were an NHL argument (the NHL has a dress code, but for arguments sake) I wouldn't go into the NHL threads taking shots because I don't care about NHL players.
-
I don't think we'll know much of anything about impacting BFG until sometime Saturday. It'll suck because it may impact not only attendance, which is low anyways and their first paying show, but the wrestlers themselves may not make it. I really hope this thing either takes a sharp turn away from Orlando or weakens to a tropical storm or something.

An interesting article from ABC news about some people who are contradicting what Morgan Spurlock was saying about McDonald's and fast food in general... http://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory?id=1030920 RALEIGH, N.C. Aug 11, 2005 — Inspired by the documentary "Super Size Me," Merab Morgan decided to give a fast-food-only diet a try. The construction worker and mother of two ate only at McDonald's for 90 days and dropped 37 pounds in the process. It was a vastly different outcome than what happened in the documentary to filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, who put on 30 pounds and saw his health deteriorate after 5,000 calories a day of nothing but McDonald's food. Morgan, from Raleigh, thought the documentary had unfairly targeted the world's largest restaurant company, implying that the obese were victims of a careless corporate giant. People are responsible for what they eat, she said, not restaurants. The problem with a McDonald's-only diet isn't what's on the menu, but the choices made from it, she said. "I thought it's two birds with one stone to lose weight and to prove a point for the little fat people," Morgan said. "Just because they accidentally put an apple pie in my bag instead of my apple dippers doesn't mean I'm going to say, 'Oh, I can eat the apple pie.'" Spurlock, who turned his surprise-hit movie into a TV show on the FX network, isn't talking about Morgan or the many other McDieters who have criticized his film and found success losing weight by eating healthy foods off the McDonald's menu, said his publicist, David Magdael. One person went so far as to make her own independent film about dieting at McDonald's. "Me and Mickey D" follows Soso Whaley, of Kensington, N.H., as she spends three 30-day periods on the diet. She dropped from 175 to 139 pounds, eating 2,000 calories-a-day at McDonald's. "I had to think about what I was eating," Whaley said. "I couldn't just walk in there and say 'I'll take a cinnamon bun and a Diet Coke.' … I know a lot of people are really turned off by the whole thought of monitoring what they are eating, but that's part of the problem." As might be expected, McDonald's also objected to the impressions left by Spurlock's film. Walt Riker, the company's vice president of corporate communications, said Oak Brook, Ill.-based company is pleased but not surprised that some customers have lost weight eating only at the fast-food giant. Spurlock's film "really spurred a backlash based on common sense," Riker said. Morgan used nutritional information downloaded from McDonald's Web site to create meal plans of no more than 1,400 calories a day. She only ate french fries twice, usually choosing burgers and salads. Those choices are a stark contrast with those made by Spurlock, who ate every menu item at least once. At the end of the 90 days, she had dropped from 227 to 190 pounds. "It feels great," she said. "Because, the truth of the matter is that beauty is power, and if you're fat, or your overweight, then people don't really take you seriously." Dawn Jackson Blatner, a registered dietitian and spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association, agreed that a low-calorie, McDonald's-only diet can help people lose weight but said it may not offer enough long-term variety. Whatever an individual does to lose weight, they need to do for the rest of their life, she said. Morgan said she hasn't decided if she will stick with the McDonald's-only plan to reach her goal of 150 pounds. But she does have one complaint about McDonald's. "If I could suggest anything to McDonald's, I would suggest the McMargarita," Morgan said. "Dine-in only, of course." Copyright 2005 The Associated Press. Yeah, they aren't doing the same regiment as Spurlock, but still an interesting read.

You know Mike, I was with you on a lot of your arguments about the dress code, but not here. I've seen just as many MLB and especially NFL players dressed just like NBA players do. I am not sure if you just choose to see all NBA players a certain way, but don't sit here and lie and say that MLB and NFL players don't dress the same way because you will see the same doo rags, gold and/or platinum chains, and sunglasses and headphones that you do in the NBA. Your bias against basketball really shines out in this particular statement.
