Well then, I'm happy to draft... Desmond Mason F/G Bucks

I'll be getting the Jake DVD. I won't touch the Warrior DVD with a ten foot pole. You couldn't pay me to watch it.

I saw this match live and in that time and moment, thought it was one of WWF's better brawls. Also, the build up for the match was fantastic in that they couldn't touch each other for 2-3 weeks or so. I think that may be why I thought the match was better at the time as well as I watched it with a crowd, so it was a little easier for me to not look for detail and whatnot. Still, after viewing without distractions, it's still a solid match, but doesn't hold up nearly as well as I thought it would. Originally I had it pegged at about **** 1/4, but now I wouldn't feel uncomfortable rating it at ***1/4.

How much of the footage did you watch and what did you enjoy the most? -
Spike giving TNA it's first Prime Time Special

Another thing to ponder... Liger is supposed to be sticking around for the tapings after BFG. If they can stretch that out a few more days and land Liger for the Prime Time special vs either Daniels or Styles, you've got yourself a dandy good time and me in front of the TV! I also agree that they should try to go for at least one or two things to get a buzz going such as starting a hot angle or title change. -

Just thought of this, but with Vince in a war like mode, will he counter program like he did with Crockett in the 80's? Will UPN or USA let him do it? -
It's to fuck with Heyman. They did the same thing to Cornette. Always happens right around the time where a main event feud is about to climax. Jeter and Capotelli were about to collide under Heyman. Doug Basham and Danny (Damaja) Basham were about to collide and then creative turned around and made them a fucking tag team. Those ribbers in WWE creative are some wascally wabbits!
-
0.8 Sounds like a steady number with no growth from weeks 1 and 2. Guess it's better than dropping. Wonder what the rating will be for the pre BFG Impact this weekend.

I think you can replace Randy Orton with Kennedy since Orton is expected to face Taker again at SS. Still, not a bad 10 man tag match you've put together.

I hate to say this, but this might be the first time ever, or at least since his WCW days, that I was not interested in something Mick Foley was doing. Thing is, it really didn't have anything to do with Carlito either. Mick seemed off. Don't think it was the crowd either. I just think Mick either really isn't feeling this rushed feud with Carlito or he's lost some of his edge because I was not compelled by any of his mic work last night. Fuck it, I'll go ahead and just say it. Last night was probrably the worst mic work I've seen from Mick Foley.

Here is the dress code for the 2005-2006 NBA season... This is not out of line and is far from the tailored suits that some people were speculating. If I were a player, I would think it sucks that I can't wear what I want, but I don't think this dress code is that bad. I have the same dress code at my work, so I have little sympathy for the players and whether they can afford the clothes since I don't make anything near the least paid player of the NBA and I don't get a clothes stipend.

He already has 2 dvd's out. (although they're a few years old) He hasn't really done anything between now and the release of his other dvd's to warrant a third set IMO.

Ventura and Monsoon were excellent, particularly Ventura. I'd say 15 with Cole and Lawler most of the way and 12. I just hated Vince echoing on about the boyhood dream.
-
So much for the fast start of the Rams.
-
Just fuckin clutch. I love October.
-
Holy shit. Bet Vlad Guerrero wishes he could've done that, oh, all series vs the Sox.
-
Fucking Rams are off to a fast start.
-
Early word from PWInsider is that the stand-in lead announcer for Raw tonight will be Michael Cole. So yeah, I'll be watching the Colts vs Rams and then watching Raw tommorrow off the Tivo with the mute on.
-
Stern said that the dress code will be a lot less restrictive than what people are speculating. He says it'll be out next week sometime. However, I dug up a nugget from ESPN and Marcus Camby that just baffles my mind... Un-fucking-believable. This nimrod wants money for clothes for the dress code. In this land of sports where you have the 12th man on any roster making what amounts to a first or second year doctor's salary, this request by Mr. Camby is ridiculous.

I have my stable of guys (NoCalMike, Darthtiki, Ced, myself, others) who are chipping in for this show. We decided to forsake No Mercy for BFG since No Mercy had quite possibly the shittiest build for a show in recent memory and most of the crew hasn't even been watching the shows, so they aren't exactly juiced about throwing away scrilla for a lame show. (and by most accounts, the show sucked ass) I believe it will be the first live TNA show for them, it'll be my second one live (Sacrifice was my first live, the other shows I watched later after acquiring them on video or DVD) Realistically I don't think it'll touch WWE's numbers, but should exceed TNA's normal buyrate numbers. If it doesn't, they're in trouble out of the gate because they don't get ad revenue from the Spike deal, so that means they've got to make money off ppv revenue. Since it appears hardly any of the video outlets and stores except a few Walmarts have even heard of TNA DVD's, I'm certain DVD revenue isn't doing very well.

The only hope I would hold out for is it would slow down the bringing up of green machines who have no business in the ring like Masters, Carlito, Snitsky, Heidenreich, Boogeyman, etc, etc, etc. Then again, their gonna put whoever they want on TV, regardless of of how much TV time is available. You are probrably onto something to where they would just do one hour Raw, one hour SD if SD were to get canned. I'd like to think Vince and Co. have a contingency plan in place if this was to occur.
-
No. If you have 2 world class workers, they can make a match work and they don't need a big, long convoluted storyline. I think some folks are just so used to watching WWE's style of doing things that they want a storyline with promos, skits, lead up matches, etc that they can't really deal with a match built around 2 excellent wrestlers. One who is the best in the company and one who is the best in the world being flown in to compete and showcase their skills. Kobashi vs Joe from ROH proved you don't need a storyline to have a killer match.
-
I hope the 6 man is on the opener on the free portion of the show. While GenNext is an ROH thing, I wouldn't be opposed to it if it were reincarnated in TNA, but that's also because I'm a GenNext mark, so sue me.

A good read. Seems honest enough. About the TNA/AJ stuff, he didn't go off like he could've. He sort of shot himself a little with saying it's not his thing, but admitting to not having seen any of the matches and just some clips. Still, he was diplomatic enough to where he didn't outright trash everyone. I just think he singled out AJ because he's the face of the X Division. The bit about storytelling is funny though because the stories Batista tells in the ring aren't very good. Still, he's a company guy and no way he praises TNA, even if he did think they were putting on quality matches. I like Batista and hope he keeps the title at least until after WM22 for the simple fact that he's one of the best guys who works better holding the title rather than chasing it.
