I think we should be getting Raven/Jarrett III myself, but in the big picture I prefer heel Raven.

The Boogeyman is going to bring me tons of laughs and make me cry all at once. Seriously, I just hope he doesn't hurt anyone if and when he steps into the ring.

I've heard this is wrong. I heard it was the Tolands (Chad and Tank) from OVW not the Shane Twins. Unless the Tolands are being called or billed as the Shane Twins. The Tolands are highly entertaining in OVW, yet are not very good in the ring. They are not as good as MNM, but are better than the Heart Throbs. They are huge in terms of muscle mass, but hover at around 5'6 or so. Since they have very cool personalities and are colorful, I bet WWE mutes them and never lets them talk a la MNM.

If you only gave the options of Raw or SD, I'd have taken SD. Since you gave neither, I picked that since ROH, TNA, Lucha, and my old puro tapes dwarf Raw and SD in quality.

If there is one rule I'd write in stone for the TNA booking committee, it's to never do a handicap match, ever. WWE has killed that match and it's intents and purposes and I would put this rule on the blackboard of every booking meeting.

This is correct. Most of those people are in the Southeast U.S. (not all, but a large number) Didn't matter how bad WCW was, they still watched and when they went under, they stopped watching wrestling because Vince's brand of wrestling just wasn't for them. That is one of the audiences that TNA should really be trying to attain and I think they are getting there somewhat. TNA needs that audience if it is to someday do shows from anyplace other than Universal Studios and also to turn a profit. They need to not worry about WWE and concentrate on establishing an audience to the point of being able to make some money. Baby steps, TNA. Baby steps.

Study: God Unnecessary For Strong Society

Don't you know all religion is just an opiate for the masses! Praise Marx! -
True dat. True dat. To the tune of about 9 a game.

Actually, I'm pretty sure WWE themselves wished they didn't move because at least when they were on Spike, they were getting ad revenue. Under the new USA deal, they don't see a dime of ad rev. to the tune of $20 million loss every year for the next 5 they are under USA.

So what makes a good pay per view in your eyes? What is your critieria? Does it have to have a certain amount of good matches? Does a ppv containing a classic match become a good or great show even if all the rest of the matches were sub par or horrible. WM13 would be a very good example of this in that it had Bret-Austin I quit match, but just about everything else on the ppv sucked pretty badly. If a show doesn't have great in ring action, but has memorable angle or storyline, does it then go from "eh" ppv to a good one? One Night Stand kind of comes to mind in this regard as well as Bash at the Beach 1996 sans Mysterio vs Psycosis opener. If a show's main event doesn't deliver at all, but the undercard was very good, do you consider it a good ppv? WCW in the early nWo days as well as TNA come to mind here. What makes a good pay per view to you?

I wonder if space was a factor since they could've probrably made a 4 or 5 disc set from just his matches alone. Also, maybe WWE told Bret to scale down his match list some because they were going to release a matches only disc or two similar to HHH and HBK's.
-
I think Haas should be brought in, but not for the X division. He's too tall. It'll look bad. Haas should be used to bolster the lame heavyweight division.
-
While I'll still buy this, I have to admit the match listing is a bit of a disappointment considering what has been excluded. I wonder if this is because they plan on more Bret DVD releases and didn't want to "blow their load" on one DVD set?

The Greatest Tag Team ever....
Dangerous A replied to CanadianGuitarist's topic in General Wrestling
Harts were a good team, but a lot of the votes here are fanboy votes. If it were to go on straight in ring work alone, the Harts wouldn't have made it this far because the Anvil wasn't very good. If you are going by perception in the wrestling world or drawing power, Roadies have them by leaps and bounds. -
My wife felt the same way about Serenity that Jason X does, except the whole Whedon's career dying part. I wasn't a fan of the death, but I wasn't so against it that I think the whole thing should just die.

Well, my Skins have their work cut out for them yet again. KC on the road is not going to be easy, especially with KC coming off the bye week. I'm Hoping they'll be more rusty than rested.

Jim Ross possibly leaving RAW announce team
Dangerous A replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
I tell ya, go to the Observer site and read some of the feedback from last night's Raw and you will read some pissed off fans. Of course, they make up the minority of wrestling fans, but still, this JR move is obviously alienating the hardcore wrestling fans away from the product. -
True, KingPK. I'd think perhaps they would go to once a week tapings or tape a show one day and then tape again the very next day for the next week. So it would go taping 1 to air that week, taping 2-the next day, to air the next week so there is still that long stretch to edit things as well as give guys that time off to recover and/or work ROH/Indy shots. I'm sure it's workable.

Every team in the Pacific has got to be licking their chops right about now. The Kings have got to be thinking that the division could be theirs if they have their usual good start and the playoff hopefuls of the Clippers, Warriors, and Lakers are thinking their chances to move up have increased dramatically with this news. The Suns aren't fucked, but they are in trouble for the time Amare is out and then the time it will take for him to get back into the rythym of the team and the games.
-
ESPN is reporting Amare will be out longer than that... Ripper is gonna be mad.
-
I don't agree with a lot of what Todd Martin writes when he does the Raw recap for the Observer page, but his final thoughts on this week's show was nail on the head material...

This is good. I too expected a dropoff of around .2 or more. They are not out of the woods by any stretch and the key will be maintaining and building on this audience in the coming months. The growing number should be encouraging and should boost morale in the lockerroom right before BFG. With WWE doing things like putting Stephanie back on TV as a regular, TNA should really focus on the in ring action and trying to really set themselves apart as a real alternative. It's not hard. Just don't do what the 'E' is doing creatively. Now if we can only get Samoa Joe on the tube...
