Unfortunately the first match is not a joke. Just dumb on all levels. The only thing I can think of is Piper and/or Orton sweet talked Vince into giving them a spot on a ppv.

The Burger King 0wns. That is all.

Selling ad time is a Spike thing. TNA doesn't get ad revenue because of the deal. TNA gets free TV and according to the latest Observer, Spike is also handling most of the production costs for the show. TNA will have to start seeing spikes in PPV buys and get revenue from the DVD's because, just like WWE, they aren't getting ad revenue from the TV show no matter what the rating is.

Cool, it's before the season begins, so I can tinker with my current lineup and put in a rookie. I've got my eye on Chris Paul, Bogut, Marvin Williams, and Ike Diogu as possible buys before the season begins.

Yes, but you can now catch Yang on ROH!

Joy Giovanni. Not a wrestler, but missed none the less.

Your best bet is to email Meltz and check his once a week mailbag for the answer. I've had several emails make the mailbag already.

One of the shots did hit him in the face. I believe the caliber of gun used was like a Saturday Night special .22 or something along those lines.

While that could happen, remember you still need guys to put up very good stats to win the game. The salary stuff and buying and selling is there to eventually build up to getting better players who will put up the big numbers. The name of the game is still to get stats and fantasy points, it will just really help in the long run (which this game is designed perfectly for, it's a marathon not a sprint) to buy some prospects low and hope they up their value, leading to you buying better, more reliable guys to help you get your points.

I put in Chris Paul and it said that no rookies are in yet. Forgot if the message said if they were going to wait until after the season began or not before listing them. At least you can play around with lineups as much as you want before the season begins, but after it starts, you only get 2 trades a week. My first lineup is as follows (lineup subject to change) G Josh Smith G Delonte West F LeBron James F Kwame Brown C Amare Stoudemire 6th Man Dwight Howard I have a little over $300,000 left over. I'm hoping Josh Smith and Kwame become better and up their value so I can eventually sell them.

Man, have you checked out the game? It's like the VGM/FastBreak game, but taken to the next level. Very interesting in that it still has the element of the old VGM game, but throws in the Wall Street angle with the salaries and how your team gets more money to spend as your players get more valuable. Also tricky in that you only get 2 trades a week, so you have to be on point from the get go, but still have the chance to make a comeback through spotting good low buys and then selling high. This game is going to be fun, yet kill me.

I have this set to Season Pass on my Tivo. Sounds like I need to watch yesterday's ep pronto. Sexual Harassment ep was great.

What year did WWE start to lose their edge?
Dangerous A replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
For the most part, I thought 2001 was botched very badly, but I also felt it could've been salvaged somewhat with some decent booking. 2002 is where desperation started kicking in like bringing in the nWo, which kind of threw the lockeroom into chaos because the feeling of bringing in 3 guys at high salaries who had bolted to the competition years earlier. Then the split took Raw into a horrible creative tailspin. They even talked HBK back into the mix to help save it. Raw gave us Katie Vick, Jackie Gayda wrestling, and the Dudley's pointing out Ass Cream exists in WWE land. While the split created the SD 6, that wasn't enough to help hide the embarassing stuff on the other end of the WWE spectrum. -

HHH didn't want Steph to leave him storyline wise because their real life off screen romance was in full tilt by then. Bad blowoff for the love triangle. HHH then wanted to be the guy who masterminded the Austin Hit and Run because even though the crowds were warming up big time to him as a face, he'd still be #3 on the face side with Rock and Austin still in the mix, so he went and cemented himself as the #1 heel. Day after WM17 was a huge dropped ball oppurtunity because the crowd was so hot to see HHH 1) turn face because he had been booked strongly against Austin the month prior and 2) help out Rock, even though both men had been feuding for almost all their careers. It was something they had not seen yet and it was right in front of their face and WWF took it away for nonsense. -
I actually think keeping the belt on Batista that long is a good thing. Batista is better as a reigning champion fighting off all comers, not chasing the title. Cena is the guy I think is better chasing, but this discussion has been done already.

I don't think creative even knows who is winning the Rumble. Remember, they don't do long term booking and shit changes even on a weekly basis with WWE. The person who is going to win the 2006 Royal Rumble will be whoever is at or near the ME scene who is hot. That's about the best educated guess I can give right now.

It's hard to really see it as any sign. Most viewers are probrably going to want to see the first run show as opposed to the replay. As someone also pointed out elsewhere in this folder, viewers for Impact in general are more likely to watch at 11pm on Saturday night with Sunday ahead as opposed to a replay at midnight on Monday when most people are already in bed for school or work the next day. Now, if Impact were to move to an earlier monday slot and the monday show be the first run, then I can see the monday rating being lower a bad sign.

Jim Ross possibly leaving RAW announce team
Dangerous A replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
That would be a disaster of epic proportions. Coach is bad. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with JR being ousted as Raw announcer because Raw desperately needs any and all changes it can get. However, I envisioned the changes to be positive ones and Coach as play by play guy is not good. BTW, can JR take Lawler with him? I hate that son of a bitch more than Coach. -
I think Isiah (if he's still the Knicks GM) is going to go after either Carmelo, LeBron, or Wade, whichever falls most easily into his lap. He probrably figures that not all 3 will re-up with their current teams in the next 2 years and when one of them hits the market, the Knicks will be there to make that person the cornerstone of the Knicks.

Kahran, you are more accepting than I because I don't think that card is worth $10.00, let alone $34.95

With Hogan having creative control, I guarantee you this will not happen. He may job, but no way the above scenario goes down with Hogan having CC. No way in hell.
-
Not when you don't make them special they won't. That's part of what creative has to do, get back to properly promoting ppv's. No Mercy looks like shit because the 2 guys in the main event are frickin bossom buddies. What they are doing now with Batista and Eddie gives me zero incentive to buy this show. Taboo Tuesday could be good because they still have roughly a month to promote it right. Vengeance probrably wasn't destined to do a huge number of buys this year, but WWE got a hair up their ass and wa-la, the show was a financial and critical success. It's just up to them to do it.
-
WWE need to have their heads examined giving away so much on free TV being that they don't see any ad money because of the USA deal. They should have built their next PPV up the way they did the Homecoming so they can at least get the money from so many "legends" returns. Tons of money down the drain.

Another thing here is that Kreski wasn't fired IIRC. I thought he moved on to the greener pastures of Hollywood, where ironically enough, Heyman is rumored to want to go after his contract runs out and stint in OVW is over. Word is he's burnt out on wrestling and wants to use his creativeness in writing for Hollywood since he's never done that. I could see him succeeding in Hollywood at first, but since he's kind of crazy and loves the business too much, I could see him back in a few years if he leaves for Hollywood. -
I'd say Al Jefferson puts Amare-like numbers up in two years because Doc doesn't like playing the young ins. Dwight Howard is the guy I think will be putting up Amare numbers this year.
