    Hogan/Michaels Backstage gossip

The sad part is the Nitro lineup sucks, but it doesn't suck nearly as bad as Raw.

    what to do with ashley

Everyone has to go through initiation. It's a test to see if you've got what it takes to survive in the 'E'. Sure, it's sophmoric, but it's the way things are done. Trust me, Ashley will be put in a ton of humiliating scenarios before it's all said and done.

What are you eating right now?

A pinto bean and cheese burrito with grilled chicken from Baja Fresh, along with chips and salsa and Raspberry Iced Tea.

    WON MMA HOF

Speaking of Ultimate Figher, From the Observer site... "The debut of Ultimate Fighter did a 1.7, actually lower than the unpublicized show built around Matt Hughes and Frank Trigg did the prior week." What the hell is up with that?

    Hogan/Michaels Backstage gossip

Actually, you can say Shawn didn't even draw the WM14 buyrate. Austin, coupled with Tyson drew the buyrate. Shawn was a transitional champ, I just think he didn't see that, hence his not wanting to let Austin go over for that show. While Michaels and Co. did play a part in the dismal early-mid 90's WWF funk, they were not the sole reason the company was killed. Vince almost killed the company because he refused to change his product with the times. It wasn't until WCW surpassed him as competition did Vince get a hair up his ass and change his product. Part of that change was ushering out HBK on top.

    Natasha Lyonne

He's got a helluva case too. While her taking heroin is her bad, the hospital absolutely has to observe the patient confidentiality rules and whether she dies or not, that family is gonna get paid.

HBK just overdid it for my tastes. He was bounced around the ring by Undertaker in their HIAC match as well, but it wasn't as cartoony. The biggest offenses that overstepped the boundaries were his flip bump midway off a turnbuckle shot and of course, the big boot spot. The rest was in context of usual HBK, small guy bouncing around stuff.

    NBA Offseason Stuff

In the stat dept, Atkins has him. Even if you increase McKie's minutes, he isn't going to produce much anymore because of his age. He's limited and is no longer a defensive presence. However, Mckie has never acted up in the lockerroom whereas Atkins is a cancer on just about every team he's been on. So it's a two way street. In the numbers department, it's a downgrade. In the lockerroom it's an upgrade.

Depends on what you are looking for. McKie is a big guard who provides leadership, but Anderson is a better athlete. McKie knows his role and can deal with a ball hogging 2 guard (Iverson). Anderson is a little better right now at this stage in their careers, but perhaps McKie may be the better Laker fit. Don't believe the hype on Lue. He's a backup lifer, nothing more. He has not shown he can be a #1 PG and lead a team to a winning record. When he was with the Lakers in the middle of their 3 peat, he had the benefit of playing behind Derek Fisher and was very fresh when he entered games, making him look better than he really is. When given starter minutes, he's mediocre.

    Fatwa issued by radical cleric

Actually Mike, the guy is a fuckass. I mentioned this to my wife and while we don't agree about Pat Robertson shooting off at the mouth like he did, she did say Chavez is a pretty brutal bastard who pretty much has intimidated his way to the top. She knows some people who left Venezuela because he's such an ass. He is one of those people that makes people who speak out against him "disappear" all of a sudden.

I don't much like it from either man, so they are both douche's. This explains HBK's ridiculous overselling in the match, especially the selling of the big boot to lead to the legdrop. At least they had a decent match for a bunch of old people.

HHH is in the WON HOF

Actually, the Summerslam 98 Ladder match was Hunter's better "gutsy" performance. The '01 tag match against Benoit/Jericho gets the lip service because of HHHim continuing on through the torn quad, but before the ladder match, Hunter's knee was fucked 6 ways from Sunday and he gutted out a decent ladder match pretty much on one leg. He was out until January after that match IIRC.

HTQ on the Fantasy G1 Climax Tournament Finals

That's because your mind hasn't been poisoned by Inoki-ism!! (yeah, I know, I'll get off that now)

    Rumored Bret Hart DVD Matches

If Bret's participation stays intact, I'll get it. No problem with getting a DVD set Bret signs off on. I will have a problem getting "Screwed: The Bret Hart Story" for the simple fact that it'll revolve primarily around Montreal, and there aren't any new revelations about SS'97 that I don't already know about.

HTQ on the Fantasy G1 Climax Tournament Finals

They can still be built into draws, but the window of oppurtunity is closing fast. Inoki was really trying with Nakamura for a bit because Inoki splooges over shooters and while Nakamura has fought mainly soup cans, he has a good shoot record. Problem there is he was pushed too hard and now there is a regurgitation effect. If Tanahashi was around in the mid-late 90's, he would probrably be at least as big as Nagata, Nakanishi, and Tenzan, maybe even bigger. However, in this day and age where the pro wrestling market in Japan has been hurt by MMA, Tanahashi is a casualty of Inoki-ism. Also, Tanahashi was banged up before his NOAH Dome show match. The match just made bad injuries worse and created some very bad new injuries (leg).

Kenta Kobashi v Samoa Joe is on

ROH fans are very smart and would pick up that both men were going broadway about 20-30 minutes in. I think they'll have a finish and it'll be Kobashi over Joe.

    Pat Robertson

This is already covered in the "Fatwa issued by radical cleric" thread. Don't trip, I almost posted what you did and then found this cryptic thread.

Can we talk about the Trade a little more?

From the Observer... The reason it was done? [Norm MacDonald] You guessed it. Randy Orton. [Norm MacDonald/]

HTQ on the Fantasy G1 Climax Tournament Finals

Being a huge Kawada Mark, I am pleased you went with this finish. I figured you would try to strengthen the IWGP champ (which has lost a ton of luster since Sasaki won it in such awful fashion from Fujita a year or so ago) by having Fujita win G-1. Instead, you built up a future Dome show ME by having an outsider win G-1 for the first time. HTQ, I knew you were all about booking to make the most money, as opposed to booking for the shock value, pop, and/or appeasing egos. (see: WWE Creative)

    An Idea for Jordan/Benoit

OJ is very good friends with JBL behind the scenes. He isn't going anywhere, anytime soon. I would prefer for Benoit and OJ to never cross paths again.

The "Ross Report" makes a COMEBACK !!!

Well, there goes the whole "WWE.com is getting more inside with their news and information" bit, right out the window.

    Fatwa issued by radical cleric

Robertson is a muthafuckin fool for this one.
  23. I think you are going to go with Fujita/Kawada in the finals, with Fujita winning a sick, stiff, Frye-Takayama style potato fest. Tenzan is not worth giving another G-1 to and Nakamura against Fujita in the finals is sort of anti-climactic. You've built two indestructible forces for the finals in Fujita/Kawada. Don't let me down.

    Randy Savage...

Thing is, the Legend's deal is $10,000. That's a lot of bones to you and I and on the outside seems worth it, but Savage is of the mentality that he can do better than that money, even if it includes residuals from toy and merchandise monies. I'm not saying Savage is right, I'm saying that is what he thinks and I don't think he'll sign that Legends contract anytime soon.

    Danger Zone 8-22-2005

Don't trip, Coffey. The show is still in infant stages. I think later in the week I'll post some topics I plan on hitting next show in this thread so emails aren't dated and whatnot.
