    Brett @ summerslam?

Actually, BECAUSE of the egos of Hogan and HBK, I am now damn sure Bret doesn't show up at Summerslam. Do you really think that those 2 are going to allow Bret to come in and scoop their heat? After all they've done to build to this, they are going to let it be about Bret? That right there should kill the Bret coming in for Summerslam talk.
  2. Thanks for the shout out, as well as the support. BTW, which show is yours on itunes? I see there are several dealing with pro wrestling.
  3. I know it's fantasy booking, but here's a question. Is Tanahashi healthy? Going in G-1, Tanahashi was in pretty bad shape. If he is healthy, perhaps he, and not Nakamura or whoever gets in the final four?

HHH now is officially part of creative team

One of the issues with something like Trish/Viscera not being explained, besides laziness, is the lack of importance placed on house shows. There is still the attitude of "if it didn't happen on television, it didn't happen" and that same mentality is why house show business is in the toilet right now. They don't care, which in turn makes us not care.

    Brett @ summerslam?

It's called bait and switch. This is not below the 'E' to do this sort of thing.

    Brett @ summerslam?

Unless WWE has completely and utterly lost their minds, there is no way in hell Bret shows up on a WWE ppv unadvertised. That would be monumentally stupid. They will have proven that they are marks for the pop, and not marks about making the most money. And as bob barron and all the major wrestling newsletters pointed out, Bret has already said he doesn't want any part in storylines or angles.
  8. Bret not wanting to drop the belt in Canada had nothing to do with his Canada v. the U.S. feud. It was a personal thing in that he didn't want to lose in his home country to Shawn. He felt that strongly about it. He was willing to job to ANYONE on the roster except Shawn in Canada.
  9. Bret had already said he had no issue dropping the title to Shawn at the Dec. ppv in the U.S., since Bret couldn't show up on WCW until sometime in mid December. He just didn't want to drop it in Canada.

    Did anyone else...

Here is an excellent observation from Todd Martin off his Raw TV report on the Observer site... Now, I won't go so far as to say Bret was screwed again, but they have definitely taken liberties with the news of Bret agreeing to the DVD work. Some very good points here that are lost on some in the heat of last night's promo.

WWE doing subtle bait and switch? Surely, you jest.

    Patch Adams slams Bush

You should've. If Patch Adams was going to slam someone, it should've been Robin Williams and the makers of the lame ass movie based on him.

    Diva Search

The only difference with Ashley, Leyla, and Elisabeth is Ashley gets a quarter of a million dollars. The other two will be offered employment by WWE, mark my words. Whether they accept is another matter.

    NBA Offseason Stuff

Well, I hope you guys are right. This is the best team SAR has been around, so if he can't at least get into the playoffs with them, then something is wrong. The Kings need a guy like him as well since the West is so uber-competitive. Everyone's predictions have the Kings not making the playoffs this year and expect team's like the Warriors or Phil-lead Lakers to take the Kings spot this year, but Petrie and Co. have made significant enough upgrades (SAR, Bonzi, drafting Garcia) that hopefully they build on the deep team we have, trade Peja for something good, and make a run in May.

    Triple H on Punk'D

HHH getting Punk'd explains a lot. Scene: WWE Headquarters- Stamford, CT HHH: So you thought it was pretty funny helping Steph set me up to get Punk'd on national TV? Stacy: It was all in good fun, Hunter. Don't take it personal. HHH: I'll show you Punk'd. What do you think about "Super Stacy"? It starts with Hurricane and Rosey.... (A single tear starts to fall down Stacy's lovely face)

    Sushi, sashimi, etc..

Actually, I know what you are talking about, but not for the sushi. I hate fish, cooked or uncooked. They do have killer beef and chicken alternatives though.

You guys are underestimating the power of the boob. Leyla "showed", the others haven't. She will probrably win. Elisabeth is my second pick. Ashley is too much like Christy, all amped up and whatnot. What does it matter anyways? I'm banking WWE offers all 3 women jobs before the new year let's out.

HHH now is officially part of creative team

Active wrestlers getting too much creative is what hurts booking. There have been some very small exceptions of wrestlers who were active who were on a booking team and didn't let things get in the way of doing what was right for business. Hiroshi Hase of NJPW in the early 90's is probrably the best example of this. Giant Baba would probrably be a close second, and even he would book himself to win things like Champion Carnival year after year. I would assume it's very hard to book things not involving yourself because you need to have the ability to think outside the box. HHH is very much inside the box.

Sorry to say, but the shows haven't been good from a creative standpoint on a consistent basis since WM17. Sure, there were some spots here and there that were not terrible such as the SD Six run and some of the summer of '03 was watchable from the SD side. But the shows haven't had a run of even a month's worth of good TV in years.

HTQ on the G1 Climax Tournament Finals

Unbelievable what NJPW pulled. I've got to believe Chono had damn near full booking power over G-1. This was a total ego stroke to me and not a memorial to Hashimoto like Chono said it was. And I'm actually a huge fan of Chono, but he shouldn't have gone over here. I'm sure it plays well on TV, but business wise I just don't get it. I guess Chono wanted to cement that no one will have as many G-1 wins than he. That is the only logical explanation besides this being an ego stroke. Nakamura or Fujita should've won, bottom line.

    TheSmartMarks Wrestling Radio Show!

I've got a new show recorded, however, I've had some mic issues and need to edit/re-record some spots on the show. I'm hoping to have it up sometime in the next 24 hours. Topics that will be touched upon.. TNA Sacrifice PPV thoughts (fresh from being watched!) WWE Summerslam; what is working and what is not working Bret Hart agrees to work with WWE on a project DA

    Sacrifice

Whether it makes sense or not, by hook or by crook, Jarrett is main eventing BFG with Raven. The reason last night's ending was what it was is Jarrett isn't stupid enough to book his title shot before TNA gets on Spike. Rhino winning and taking the main even slot for the Sept ppv let's Jarrett spin his wheels some until TNA is on Spike, then he'll make his main event move.
