Everyone at the rink flipped out during that almost-empty-net goal, it was pretty hilarious. The atmosphere was amazing at GM Place at the start of the game, but things were very up and down throughout. They really need to work on putting some more prompts to the crowd via the big screen and such, even simple stuff like "Go Canucks Go" would be nice. Speaking of chants, a bunch of people behind me had a "Turco beats his wife" chant going for a while in overtime. +1 point for originality, -10000 points for lack of class.
-
I'll be there in person to cheer on the Nucks, Bob. Any chant ideas?
-
Was that really necessary? Just say Nolan sucks if you don't like him, the racial stuff is pointless and stupid.

I think this was posted here before. Guess I need to buy me a PS3 or 360 in time for whenever this is released. Speaking of which, any release dates floating around out there? If they were smart they'd put it out a month or two before Madden.

What do have against Briere?

I just read Richard McBeef too. That was just bizarre. When I read the preface by his classmate, I thought it couldn't have been that bad, but that was just batshit. Is Mr. Brownstone basically the same, lots of yelling and craziness? Edit - Read Mr Brownstone. It was bizarre, but much less crazy than Richard McBeef.

Buffy the Complete Box Set (Seasons 1-7)
LaParkaMarka replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Television & Film
I think the old Buffy threads had about 20 pages of discussion over what the best seasons were. I personally loved season 3, but it seemed like most people liked season 2 the best. Season 5 also has it's supporters. -
The live crowd loved it, because it was booked as a local hero winning. But why would anyone else care? Some random Italian fan as a champion is kind of a strange idea, and I don't think he'll be over in North America at all.

The Amazing Race: All-Star Edition
LaParkaMarka replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Television & Film
I lost interest in this season, so I haven't seen many episodes. But Mirna can't be worse than Flo. There is no way anyone could be worse than Flo. -
Vancouver fans reacted exactly the same way after the loss on Friday. Very sad.
-
Yeah, guys like Daniel Briere are all about the American style of hockey... I like how the puckbunnies chased him down in the parking lot. At least the one in the middle is decent.

Hey guys, quick question: Should I drop Brad Hennessey to pick up Matt Belisle? Belisle is starting for the Reds now, and has done pretty well (2 W, 9K, 1.50 ERA, 0.75 WHIP). He's also listed in Yahoo as an RP, while Hennessey is both RP and SP.
-
Yeah, that's exactly why this happened. Because CBS and MSNBC hate children. Anyways, it's clear from this thread he has a fanbase, he'll probably get a new show somewhere else and continue doing his thing.
-
Honestly, it wasn't a very good game. I'd say it was pretty sloppy on both sides, especially as overtime stretched on. The Canucks were very, very lucky to get away with a win there.

By theme music.. Edge Orton Cena HBK HBK's music is nostalgic, but it's almost embarrassing to see a 40 year old come out to "Sexy Boy".
-
Edge's music is better than Cena's. I love Edge's entrance. When did Orton lose the pyro for his entrance?

It's not really based only on what Pacman did, it's more about making an example of these two guys to combat the all of the news stories about NFL players being thugs and criminals. Really, Leonard Little did a lot worse when he killed that girl while drunk driving, and nothing has happened to him. If he did that during this specific offseason though, then he'd probably be out of the league. It's the media attention that's driving this, though you can still blame Pacman for being so obnoxiously retarded.

Bumping again, since this is going to a shootout. What a way to end the season. Ah, these commentators are great. The color guy is babbling about the Force and Jedi and Lightsabers, and it's clear that the play-by-play guy has a hilariously blatant Isles bias.
-
Holy shit, what a finish in NJ!!! Is anyone else watching this? Hahah the commentator just keeps saying "Oh no, oh no", this is gold. Scores with .9 seconds left. Amazing.
-
Poor Chretien. He could speak both French and English, but never really made any sense in either language. It's probably why he held power for so long.
-
Hennessey wasn't drafted, is he worth picking up? And yeah, I think everyone in the league is a noob, including myself.
-
105th pick in the draft.

I'm not sure if this is the place to ask, but could I have some feedback on the team I have? It's in an 18-team league, and I have no idea who half of these guys are. So why don't the Bears sign David Carr? He should at least be an upgrade as a backup from Brian Griese, and he could eventually start once the Grossman experiment is over.
-
I think these moves are bad too, but I'll play Devil's Advocate a bit. Kubiak had a lot of success with an "anonymous" O-Line in Denver. Tom Nalen was a 7th round pick and has started 16 games for 10 seasons; Matt Lepsis was an undrafted free agent and did the same for 7 seasons. His scheme doesn't require dropping 1st round picks on guys like D'Brickashaw Ferguson, so refusing to use picks or dishing out $50 million to the Leonard Davis' of the world makes some sense. His linemen also have a history of backing up for a year (learning the system) before starting. Tom Nalen spent his rookie season on the bench before starting 15 games the next season, while Matt Lepsis spent a year on the bench before starting all 16 games in 1999. Maybe he has the people he wants, but they just needed time to gel and understand his scheme. Since this is year two, it's time for his guys to step up. IF the line solidifies, IF Ahman Green returns to form, IF Matt Shlub is the real deal, IF they find someone to play in secondary... Actually, forget it. I've convinced myself that the Texans will be slaughtered next season and probably have a top-three pick.
