Casino was better, but this was still pretty enjoyable. Matt Damon was actually excellent, as was Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen. Marky Mark was hilarious. Worth watching for sure.

So what happened to the Bruins? I was not expecting Bertuzzi and the Panthers to put up 8 goals on them. The Canucks win back to back games on the road, nice start for them. Definately look to be competetive in the Northwest.

"You don't even need the other guys on the field. It's all about McNabb and Favre"

Anyone watching SD/BAL? SD's kicker just hit a 54 yard FG, and then tried to do a jumping chest bump with someone. The kicker hits the chest, gets knocked backwards, and keeps on rollin. Kinda like one of those clothesline oversells. It was great.

Too bad Rivers tossed a bad pick on the next drive which led to the Ravens tying it up.

Let's take a look at my first loss. The only touchdowns I had were from Drew Brees. I had Joe J in my lineup, and he got hurt before doing anything. I got buttfucked that week. I also won last week, so I don't know what you're talking about in reference to losing twice to consecutive teams. I can't remove players in order to make sure that active managers beat inactive ones, because that would skew the standings. I can lock them, and plan on doing so after this week. My bad, I got your team and Foreign Objects confused regarding the two straight losses. You're right about the Week 1 loss being bad luck, but you still lost to a team that doesn't have any backups. There's not much that can be done about inactive owners, besides emailing them. 18/20 active owners is actually pretty good.

2 people in League 1 aren't playing. Sobe Overdose only has 9 players on his team and hasn't done anything since July (still somehow 1-2). 2Deep hasn't done anything since Aug 14 (also somehow got a win, weird). Sobe managed to beat "Can I Get A Witness"...the owner of that team should be embarassed. 2Deep defeated Foreign Objects in an epic 33-31 week 3 matchup...2Deep actually had 2 players on Bye that week vs Foreign Objects full team. That's just sad. This week, 2Deep is actually favored against Can I Get a Witness...losing to two completely inactive teams in consecutive weeks would be very pathetic. Meanwhile, Sobe takes it's two players on Bye and faces Leena....this actually will be close, since Leena is starting Samkon Gado at RB, a WR on Bye, and Atlanta's punter. Of special note is Rosenhaus' Rangers, a team that has been starting either Vince Young or Jay Cutler since the beginning of the season. Needless to say, they are 0-3. Last place team Chosun Ones is also pretty funny, what with starting 3 players on Bye versus 3-0 Serenity. I guess you never know, maybe Chosun's starting RB tandem of Lendale White and Tatum Bell (on bye week) will be able to outscore Serenity's Brian Westbrook/Reggie Bush combo (btw, nice work Serenity getting both of those guys in a PPR league...beautiful drafting). In conclusion, our league is retarded. But I'm in first, so whatever. *poses, spits water, tears quad*

Haha, I noticed that as well. I don't think it was the same guys, but they were pretty much dressed up in the exact same outfit as . I think one of them even had a headband.

The load times just kill the game. It is pretty fun just demolishing QBs on every down, but it takes 10 years just to get to the gameplay because of the load times. Then if you want to save after, 10 more minutes of loading. Whee. The other issue is that there are too many money plays that the CPU cannot stop and will not adjust to. You can literally call the same play every time, and just thrash the computer (eg a go route with an HB...pretty much unstoppable). Once you get a lead, they abandon the run and you can just play a cover two deep, rush with a player-controlled linebacker, and just kill shit dead. One big feature of the game (for me) was the detailed uniform-design process...it's got a ton of options, and you can design some pretty slick uniforms. So much better than ESPN 2k5's pathetic excuse for custom teams. So the gameplay is fun but super easy, and the load times will make you never want to start the thing up just to get to a quickgame. It might be worth 20$ on Xbox, assuming the load times are severely reduced.

Good for Tie. He plants a seed in there, and his kids are set. Bad for Stronach. Hard to believe there's a step down from Peter "Dogfucker" Mackay, but there ya go.

But Leftwich isn't very good. 1 passing TD and 1 rushing TD isn't anything special, he's at best slightly better than Culpepper. Meanwhile Plaxico Burress is lightyears ahead of Amani Toomer. Maybe if Bryant was going the other way instead of Toomer.

Shadow Hearts: Covenant is one of the better RPGs on the system, and you don't need to play the original to play Covenant. That, FFX, and Disgaea would keep an RPG fan occupied for a long time. From there, you can move on to sequels like X-2, Disgaea 2 (or the other Nippon Ichi SRPGs), or Shadow Hearts 3.

Speaking of stats geeks, Football Outsiders has a very interesting system set up to measure WR rankings. Check it out here. In 2005, the top receivers in their system were Steve Smith, Chad Johnson, and Santana Moss. They make sure to note that you can't really seperate out a WR stats from the QB...a guy like Randy Moss is a lot more talented than Keenan McCardell, but McCardell had a pretty solid offense around him and a good QB. Moss had Kerry "Interception" Collins.

I'm not sure if you have the other systems, I think the ones below (excluding GoW) can be found on Xbox as well. If you don't mind the older rosters, NFL 2k5 is awesome. I still play that. God of War is excessively violent fun (and cheap), but the game gets repetitive by the end and it's fairly short. Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge are fun arcadey racing games, where it's fun to crash. They are also cheap to grab, I think Revenge is greatest hits now. The Dynasty Warriors games are excellent mindless fun, but it's something you should rent first. You just run around killing hordes of underlings, while other generals run around the battlefield trying to complete objectives or take bases. There's a ton of characters, but most do play fairly similar so it falls into the same "repetitive" boat as God of War.

The Kesler story is actually pretty huge for the NHL. The DiPietro signing only really hurts the Isles, since no one else will ever dish out a contract like that. Offer sheets to RFAs though is huge. Kesler is a former first round pick, but he was a 3rd line center for Vancouver, scored 10 goals or something. Not exactly the cream of the crop. Vancouver was all set to sign him for 850k a year until Clarke comes along with a comparatively huge 1.9 mil. Like TSN says in this article, this could result in retaliation by GMs, which will shoot up free agent prices. The article I linked is a really good read, check it out.

Culpepper hasn't exactly proven himself in Miami. How many passes did Chris Chambers or Marty Booker get their way? The Raiders problem is the line and play-calling...Brooks, when he had a bit of time or a quick 1-step drop, was able to make his throws. I'm pretty sure Culpepper in a Raiders uniform would have had the exact same problems, if not moreso since he doesn't have the mobility of Brooks.

I have fond memories of this game. I'd ask other kids if I could use them in the game, then immediately ford a giant river. If everyone didn't immediately drown, they would soon die from disease (dysentery!) or starvation. Good times.

The Islanders are so awesome. Garth Snow should try and put together a team that's entirely goalies.
-
Oakland is terrible. Randy Moss and Lamont Jordan are next to useless now.
-
He did miss a pretty killer party last year. Ugh, fumble. I really should have started the San Diego defense instead of Washington.
-
This is embarassing to watch. I feel bad that Randy Moss has to waste a another prime year with this team.

The people above are, iirc, Pats fans. They want Seattle to do badly because then the Pats will have a better 1st round pick in the trade for Branch. I doubt it's anything personal.

Not football related, but fuck those Mac commercials. Anyone who buys a Mac because of those is a giant douchebag. No wonder Ricky Manning Jr beat the tar out of that laptop guy, he must have had a Mac.
