Commish, are there any people who haven't posted since signing up?

Jacksonville wasn't any kind of serious contender last year, but they still racked up the wins. Check out their last 9 games last season: Nov. 6 vs. Houston Texans W 21-14 Nov. 13 vs. Baltimore Ravens W 30-3 Nov. 20 at Tennessee Titans W 31-28 Nov. 27 at Arizona Cardinals W 24-17 Dec. 4 at Cleveland Browns W 20-14 Dec. 11 vs. Indianapolis Colts L 18-26 Dec. 18 vs. San Francisco 49ers W 10-9 Dec. 24 at Houston Texans W 38-20 Jan. 1 vs. Tennessee Titans W 40-14 That was all schedule. Give any decent team that schedule and they could have won 7-8 out of the 9 and made the playoffs. The games may not all have been easy (10-9 against the Niners? Ugh) but Jacksonville took advantage and walloped some inferior teams. I think something similar could happen this season, in the AFC East (Buffalo and NYJ suck), or the NFC North (at least two of those teams will be garbage).

The big advantage for the Fins is their weak division...Buffalo's offense can't be good, and the Jets are in a very similar position. That should be good for four wins, plus they play the NFC North (~3 wins) and they have a game against Houston. I don't think the team is necessarily that good, but with that kind of schedule they should make the playoffs. Think the Jags of last year...nothing special, but they turned a creampuff schedule into 12-4.

You have to watch out with training camp reports. Remember when Chad Pennington's shoulder was fine in camp, and he looked to be leading the Jets on a deep playoff run? I'll believe Palmer and Culpepper are fine when they actually throw for 300 yards and 3 tds.

It would be pretty funny to have Eli make the SB before Peyton. The added fun of Eli choking and losing while old man Archie cries is also fun.

I started reading 52 at my brother-in-law's...read up to "Booster Gold exposed" issue. The "History of the DCU" stuff actually does help a newb like myself, as I haven't read any comics since I was a teenager. The Question is very cheesy. "Tell me how you really feel" made me want to barf. The rest is ok though, I enjoy Black Adam's antics.

It's not a bad spot actually...I drafted 20 a few years ago and still did well. And this is HHH in both leagues.

I hate Tom Brady. I think he is a stupid douchebag. He's still probably the best QB in the league and an integral part of a pseudo-dynasty in the Pats. If you were building a team from scratch and could have any QB in the league, do you really pick Manning, giving his pathetic lack of success in terms of championships? Mcnabb, he of the iffy conditioning? Carson "no-knee" Palmer? No, you take Brady. The other amazing thing about Brady is this: when the guy fucks up, it's almost shocking. That is how good he always is, you take it for granted. When Brady tossed up that brutal int while he was falling against Miami a few years back (in a meaningless game), it was so weird...you *never* see the guy do that. I made a clip video of Tom Brady blunders for a class I took a while ago, and it was legitimately difficult to fill up 2 minutes. That's scary, a QB who does not make mistakes, who can make almost every throw, who has good accuracy and a good arm, and a guy who by all accounts is a leader on his team. ...I fucking hate that guy. Stupid perfect bastard.

FFX was the worst for that. Avoid 100 straight lightning bolts? That stupid Chocobo crap for Tidus' weapon? Ridiculous.

Already have it and I endorse this statement. Especially for the lot of us that never played it on the PS1 and don't want to plunk down the triple-digit prices on eBay for a copy. Or you could download ePSX and the image files for the game. It's cheaper.

I think Noronen wants out of Van as well, but no one really wants to take the guy. I'm still shocked the Canucks got anything for Cloutier and his 2.5 mil contract.

I actually think VIII aged better than VII. VIII was retarded, but really so was VII. VII also has some weak graphics and bad music (the overworld theme makes me want to toss something at the screen). VIII's graphics actually hold up a bit, and the music was excellent.

I actually didn't even know that Ruutu was involved...that is such a ridiculously lopsided trade. Especially since Linden ended up right back with the Canucks. After looking into McCabe a bit more, they actually ended up trading him for a pick, which was again traded and used to acquire the 3rd overall pick in the 1999 draft. Who did the Canucks take there? *dramatic pause* Henrik Sedin. Oddly enough, Pyatt was taken 8th in the same draft. In more bizarre news, the Canucks actually had the players who went 22 and 23 on their team last season, Maxime Ouellet and Steve Mccarthy. And, looking even further down the list, the Canucks had the 40th overall pick, that they used on Alex Auld. Auld and Bertuzzi eventually brought Luongo to town. So, in one of the most ridiculously lopsided trade ever: To NYI: Trevor Linden To VAN (Todd Bertuzzi)Roberto Luongo Jarkko Ruutu Henrik Sedin Trevor Linden (he eventually rejoined the Canucks anyways)

Def Jam and a buttload of Japanese imports say hello. That reminds me, can Def Jam be enjoyed by someone who positively hates gangsta rap but loves the AKI engine? Yes. You have to be some kind of freak to not enjoy beating the tar out of your buddies in Def Jam. Great drunken party game.

Yeah, I realised Bertuzzi wasn't coming back, or Carter for that matter. But there has to be a poor man's version somewhere for Vancouver to at least attempt to stop the bleeding. They traded for Tayler Pyatt, a 6'4 8th overall pick from 1999. Guy is an underachiever, but so was Bertuzzi when he was acquired. Pyatt is a LW though, so he won't be with the Sedins. He might get a shot with Morrison and Naslund. The sad thing about the Canucks is they have like 4 million left to sign like 10 players. This is why Bulis and Chouinard were odd signings, and even the trade for Pyatt. That's ~3.5 mil for what could end up as a bunch of 3rd/4th liners.

What's the deal there, by the way? Rucinsky, Sanderson and Carter were all supposed to fit perfectly with the Brothers Sedin. What's the missing ingredient? Rucinsky - Soft, sucks. Sanderson - Blazing speed, but the guy was only around for one playoff run before he bolted. He wasn't exactly a great shot either, somewhat inconsistent. Carter - The best linemate they had, but still managed to miss open nets to the point where it was no longer surprising. They need a right winger who has good enough hands to consistently convert, and someone physical enough to be able to survive in front of the net. Those types of players are highly priced, and the Canucks have never bothered to spend the money to give the Sedins the threat they need. I mean, Rucinsky? Come on.

Too bad left-shot Bulis can't play with the Sedins. The Nucks will be stuck with King or someone equally useless missing open nets while the Henrik and Daniel cry.

Signed up as HHH. The problem is half of these teams probably won't be participating after the draft. Does the commish have the ability to boot these losers and disperse any players they have?

Tiburon is terrible...the last game they released, NFL Head Coach, was ridiculously buggy and broken. If Supes was so bad that EA/Tiburon pushed it back, it must be a hilarious shitbomb.

Well, I loved X-2. And Andrew is wrong about the class change, you can change as many times as you want. You can have the occaisonal boss battle where you constantly have to change around classes during the fight, which was pretty fun. It certainly isn't for everyone, but the game is like 15 bucks Canadian, so why not.
