Useless Gretchen. Glad they're gone. So, predictions for next week? Judging from the previews, Ron and Kelly seem to have the best chance.

Anyone watch the Mirror Universe episodes...
LaParkaMarka replied to LaParkaMarka's topic in Television & Film
I thought it made sense. Basically, the crew will follow whoever has the power and backing to take control. Archer took over Enterprise from Forrest in the first episode, and most of the crew went with it (with the exception of T'pol). Then Forrest took the ship back, and everyone went along with him. Hell, Archer offed an Admiral and demanded the unconditonal surrender of Starfleet, and even then only some of the crew rebelled. Plus Mayweather was the power behind Archer, without Mayweather Archer's first coup would have failed. His backing seemed to be fairly significant. -

"In a Mirror, Darkly" Parts I and II. Episodes 18 and 19 of the season. <3 Slutty Hoshi -
I thought the Salary system was fine. I never had a problem with money in that game. Draw was stupid because it was a waste of time. But I thought drawing GFs was kind of interesting. It's only annoying to perfectionists who need every item on their first playthrough. Besides, you could just use Ifrit almost exclusively and blast through the game, so no big if you miss a few.
-
All that means is that they didn't consider Jason Campbell/Charlie Frye etc as better than any of the other available players.
-
That's interesting, since I steered completely clear of FFIX for the same reason. Still haven't played it. VIII was fairly enjoyable, though.
-
Favre throwing it out there for Moss would be absolutely bizarre/hilarious/cool. It must happen.
-
It was great, because you actually save the Espers and ally with Leo and it seems like the game will end happily. Then Kefka slaughters everything. Wonderful swerve. I honestly don't remember the end of FFVIII. The game had a lot of potential up until it imploded during the garden battle.

Hey I've tried repeatedly to bring up Mark Clayton. But there's no controversy there. Everyone knows he rules and will be good. With White there is controversy and a better discussion. I mean with Clayton I just say "He's awesome and will be a solid NFL player" and everyone says "I know." You're acting like bringing up OTHER OU football players makes you look any better. I still like the Rodgers pick for the Packers. When you have a potential #1 drop down to 24, your QB was actually thinking of retiring THIS Year, and that draft pick has the chance to learn under one of the best, it's not too bad. They couldn't have gotten anyone that would have been an immediate impact player anyway, might as well go for the most important offensive position. What would a guy like Dan Cody have done for you this year? Not that great, certainly not enough to pass up on a guy like Rodgers who might be able to do so much more for the future. Unlike VX, I'm not sold on guys like Craig Nall. Stupid Bills didn't get rid of Henry when they had the chance, now they might get nothing for him. They were being offered what they needed, a LT and they STILL didn't take it. Sometimes Tom Donahoe can be a real moron. I don't see why Donahue assumed a 2nd pick AND LT should be considered good value for Travis Henry. I like Henry just fine, but solid RB's just aren't THAT rare. I'd take an LT OR a 2nd round pick --- but expecting both? Tom was bloody insane. BTW, who the heck are the backup QB's for Buffalo? -=Mike One of the backups is Kelly Holcomb.
-
Anyone see this? I found it in the CNNSI Truth and Rumours page. So the RB beats up women, the starting corner sexually assaults women, they lost most of their O-line and their top WR is holding out. Did you kill a baby or something, VX?

I wasn't exactly blown away by that trailer. I really don't think it will attract a lot of new viewers, only the original fanbase. Mentioning Buffy was a terrible move, as Buffy has such a stigma attached to it (ever talk to a non-Buffy fan about Buffy? Yeah). I thought it might have been better if they tried to be a little more mysterious about the movie, instead of giving away most of the story and talking about how it has millions of fans. A Matrix-style marketing approach could have worked; try and draw in some non-fans to see it the first weekend out of "what's going on?" factor, then they word-of-mouth spreads about how good the movie is.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
LaParkaMarka replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
The Scoobs main strength lies in planning. They couldn't beat the Mayor and his Vamps, but they could organize a rather convoluted plan to blow him up. They couldn't really beat Glory, but they could plan out a way to stop her. I'm sure all of them together could take out Cyvus on his own, or maybe Sebassis. But they would never have been able to do the same thing Angel and company did to the BT. And Lindsay rules. -

Team Angel slaughtered the Black Thorn. I think the Black Thorn could have taken the Scoobs. Without Demon Anya, who really shouldn't count, I really don't see Buffy/Willow/Riley/Giles/Xander taking on the Thorn. That Devil guy would have ripped out Xander's other eye and shoved it down Riley's throat (why does this image make me smile?), Cyvus would have demolished Willow. Buffy might be able to take Hamilton. -
I think A-train is a free agent.

X-2 had an excellent battle system, but you can't get over it's style. There was plenty of substance.
-
KC drafted a guy named Craphonso Thorpe. That's awesome. Denny Green just has to take McPherson in the 5th. They haven't drafted a QB yet, and Warner/McCown won't cut it.
-
The Broncos took Clarrett? How funny is that. Did Adrian McPherson get drafted?
-
So who will end up with Khalif Barnes?
-
I've had to move to radio. Is there an online station carrying the broadcast?
-
Damn TSN, no more draft coverage for me.
-
...get out of my brain!
-
I thought Jones would go in the 2nd or 3rd round. This draft has been funny for the NFC North. Minnesota passes on Mike Williams, Detroit drafts Mike Williams, and Green Bay gets a QB. The most sensical pick was Cedric Benson going to the Bears.
-
At the very least, Minnesota has it's core locked up for a long time, and they're young. Theoretically they can fire Tice soon and then get a real coach a year or two down the road, and they can still contend.
-
Same. I didn't this board would have issues handling traffic on a Saturday afternoon.
-
They still have Az Hakim on the roster too, and they might still have Tai Streets from last year. Also, they signed Marcus Pollard at TE to help out the passing game.
