The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Exactly. Connor knows, he just decided to go back to his happy life at Stanford. The way he handled the ax after seeing him bumble with weapons before showed that. Had to love Angel's reaction to "there's nothing he can show me that I haven't already seen". I thought that ep was brilliant. It wasn't like "Hole in the World", but it wasn't supposed to be. It was much more low key in ways, yet it still did a lot with Wes/Illyria/Angel/Connor/Gunn. The relationship between Illyria and Wesley is amazing, I'm loving seeing it all play out. I had to admit, I marked when Illyria went "he doesn't follow you anymore" and bitchslapped Angel across the room. Connor - "I sorta have a thing for older women" Angel - "They were supposed to remove that" GOLD x 10 Angel was great this ep too, doing the doting father thing. I mean, fixing Connor's collar before he fights a demon, the cutesy "you have your whole life ahead of you" stuff, and especially "You go to Stanford?". Excellent stuff. I actually think this is my favorite episode of the season right now. That flashback sequence that encompassed the Connor arc was really cool, I must see it again. -
Ray Emery is the new man in Ottawa. But wow, are all those guys departing their teams? Burke will end up somewhere and do okay. I don't know where Pat Lalime is going. Florida? Somebody's gotta replace Roberto Luongo when he leaves for greener pastures. Florida is stupid enough to let Luongo go? I think it would be almost funny if Lalime came to Vancouver. Then we'd have two Cloutiers.

Minnesota Vikings select.... Tony Hargrove, DE, Georgia Tech Well-built athlete who was a quarterback and safety in high school, but rapidly grew to defensive end size upon his arrival on Tech's campus. Regarded as one of the finest pass rushers in the South, he saw his career come to an abrupt end when he was declared academically ineligible for the 2003 season. Rather than return to school in 2004, Hargrove decided to teats his wares in the National Football League. Started 13 of 24 games for the Yellow Jackets, recording 70 tackles (36 solos) with six sacks for minus-31 yards, 19 stops for losses of 58 yards, two forced fumbles, a pair of fumble recoveries and three pass deflections. I'm not sure about any of the OLB prospects still left, so a gamble on Hargrove could work. Again, the Vikes need a pash rush off the end, and Hargrove could fit the bill. Him and Hill can compete for DE, and Hargrove could be moved to OLB, as he is competent at coverage. He seems to be a bit of a project, but the man is certainly talented.

Too bad to see the Sens eliminated. Both teams don't seem to have much of a chance against Philly though, due to the rest that Philly has gotten. And then Philly plays either Tampa or the Habs, two speedy and small teams. They have a really good shot at coming out of the Eastern Conference. I would love to see Calgary go all the way, but Detroit is a very strong team. Seems like another Colorado/Detroit battle in the West.

I think either Arizona or Oakland would be the best place for him. Oakland already has an aging/declining QB in Rich Gannon. I think Arizona makes the most sense. Arizona has a good young RB in Marcel Shipp, and a very strong receiving corps with Boldin/Bryant/Fitz (we all know Green is taking Fitz). They sign Warner and let McNown tutor under him for a couple of years. Warner actually looked really good last pre-season...I think his performance against the Giants was more due to the concussion that because he's "Rob Johnson"-suck. With Warner, the Cards wouldn't be the weak team in their division anymore...poor San Fran. That's embarrassing for them.

His character is a retard, what kind of depth are you expecting? Is he going to become a schizophrenic retard? I understand your point, and it's valid: a worker needs some kind of personality/gimmick to get anywhere. I just don't see how Dinsmore's character could possibly go anywhere, beyond George Steel 2004. To be honest, I think Conway's sympathizer thing does have a bit of potential. He could ditch Grenier and just do a play off of his current gimmick, and it could work. They originally said he was a veteran or former soldier, right? The character could actually have some kind of motivation and depth from that.

Congrats Calgary, good luck against Detroit. From such a high to such a low. Sucks to be a Canucks fan right now.
-
That was so insane. Everyone in Vancouver flipped the fuck out. OT baby! Really excellent game from Kiprusoff though...I hope Van gives that man a standing ovation.
-
So, do the Pats stick with both first rounders and get even more depth, or do they trade up and grab one of the better corners?
-
Possibly, but there are so many stupid athletes that you can only say that he's the dumbest athlete so far this year... Is Mike Danton stupider, or just insane? Anyways, Ty has lost it. The guy might as well go to the Raiders, who seem to be amassing Cornerbacks for no apparent reason. They have Woodson, Philip Buchanan, Ray Buchanan, and Denard Walker.
-
I hope this game goes to four overtimes.
-
I'm still in. We might as well let new people in, too. Can't hurt, and the more the merrier, as long as they actually make their picks for both rounds. Six-hour intervals should be fine. We should have a few people that can take PMs and post picks. Any volunteers?

CKNW That's the home of the Canucks for radio. Generally, they do a good job. I used to listen to Canucks games back they weren't all aired. Sometimes the radio commentary is superior to the tv commentary. Man, I tried listening to an Oilers game online, it was terrible. Their radio guy is insanely bad. Believe me, it varies from team to team, and the Nucks have some decent people running their radio PBP.
-
Yup, Monday night. You can always listen to it online, NHL.com usually has radio links for all the games.

Morrison came out from the corner in front of the net, almost around a sprawling Kiprusoff, and put it barely past him. It was so great.
-
How so? I don't see why it is terrifying. Terrifying in that a goal would have knocked my team out. Morrison...so great.
-
YEYSYEYSYEYEYEYSYSY MOROROIROISW WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
-
This game is terrifying.
-
Yes, Ruutu rules! 1-0 Canucks.
-
Was it me or was the last empty net goal unnecessary? There was like 3 seconds left and a two goal lead, just dump it in the corner. Raycroft is playing pretty well...that save on Zednik was great. I have no idea what is going on with the Bruins D...they should be way better than this.
-
It's Elimination Saturday as the Stars, Predators, and Devils are all gone. Doesn't bode well for the Canucks and Habs tonight. I'll cheer heartily for both.
-
Man, if someone told me at the beginning of the season that the Lightning and Sharks would be the first teams to advance into the second round, I would have laughed and/or dismissed the person as some kind of drunk.

Why is it that when the writers can't come up with any ideas for somebody, it's with a guy who has a ton of talent? They also had problems coming up with things for total losers like Mideon. Creative is universally incompetent, not just incompetent with respect to good workers.
