So, it hasn't been mentioned here, but the Rams have signed Chris Chandler. Pretty odd move, since they already have Kurt Warner and Marc Bulger. Odds are that Warner gets traded or released. I think Warner can still start, as long as he doesn't get concussed on the first play. A team like Arizona would be a good fit. He can help groom whoever they think is their long term QB (McNown?), and Warner throwing to Fitz/Boldin could work out very well.

One of the top rated RBs, Kevin Jones, ran a 4.6. Heck, USC WR Mike Williams supposedly can't go faster than 4.7 (source is Pete Prisco, though). I think the numbers are excellent. If he can do that without a lot of prep, he'll impress a lot of scouts once he improves on those scores.

I have absolutely no clue why, but you know that scene where Binky and.....whatshername, the star of the show.....when they're fighting in the van? I was hoping for some major lesbian action right there. Same here. I guess it's one of those things...two women + catfight could lead to major lesbian action.

Come next season, Legace needs to start or depart. If he doesn't replace Joseph as the #1 netminder, trade him away to a team that can showcase his talents. (Chicago) Chicago has Thibault, and he's a fine goalie. Legace might be better off with a team like Vancouver (assuming Cloutier bombs again in the playoffs).

Broncos sign Lynch, Elliss If everyone is healthy, the Broncos D could be pretty scary.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

I had never noticed that until now (my third viewing of the episode) and it makes me crack up every time. It's little things like that that make the episode. Yeah, that was hilarious stuff. Excellent ep too, even though they've done the "possessed by ghosts" bit before. -
Well, that's complete crap. Booo.

It was a match penalty to he's gotta face Cambell Monday morning. Considering there was no real injury and the fact he plays for the leafs(which is BS) he'll only get 2 games. That's crap. If they really want to cut down on things like the Bertuzzi incident, they need to enforce appropriate sentences regardless of whether or not the victim was actually injured. If Belak hit him below his visor, the guy could have been really hurt. You're right though...the NHL probably won't do very much beyond a couple of games. It's sad. I guess you only really get punished if you succeed in injuring someone. Attempt to injure isn't nearly as bad. And this is why this crackdown on violence or whatever won't have any effect. This Bertuzzi thing will die down, and five years down the road another player will get seriously injured by a cheap shot.
-
Anyone see Belak swing his stick like a broadsword at an Avs player tonight? He gets five and the game for attempt to injure, and the Avs score twice on the ensuing power play. As far as I know, he isn't a repeat offender, so his suspension shouldn't be too bad. But the guy should still get suspended.

I never saw all of the first, but I liked what I saw. I really enjoyed the Binky episode though. You could see the Buffy/Angel humour seeping through in some of the scenes. The "she's sitting on your stool" type of lines. It was a fun little show, and I'm definately going to catch the next ep.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

So I got an email from the local station that carries Angel: Attention all Angel fans: There's been a change of plans in our schedule. We will now be airing the final episodes of Angel beginning on Wednesday, April 14th at 9:00pm. We hope you will be able to tune in! Are you guys in the States getting the episodes then too? The station sent an email before saying the new eps were in May. Thought it was kinda strange that they moved them out of sweeps. -
Didn't he get into a confrontation with Big Show a couple of weeks ago? Maybe Show has more clout than we thought.

John Milton: Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off. He's a tight-ass. He's a sadist. He's an absentee landlord. Worship that? Never. John Milton: Freedom, baby... is never having to say you're sorry. John Milton: Guilt is like a bag of fuckin' bricks. All ya gotta do is set it down. Kevin Lomax: What about love? John Milton: Overrated. Biochemically no different than eating large quantities of chocolate. I really liked Devil's Advocate, even though no one else did. The last sequence with Milton, Lomax, and Christabella was excellent, and Pacino really delivered on his anti-god rant. And I'm glad someone posted the best quotes from Casablanca. It's amazing how ubiquitous they've become. Phrases like "the usual suspects" have become part of the common lexicon. It's interesting how much came from that movie.

TO is a whiny bitch because as soon as things didn't go his way, he pouted and flat out said many times that he was not going to honor a contract he signed and play for Baltimore. San Francisco was well within their rights to trade him to whomever they wanted, and that's tough shit for TO. He should have been mad at Philly for not ponying up a more comparable trade offer. As far as his paperwork not being filed on time: boo-fucking-hoo. There is a bit of controversy about when the exact deadline date is/was, but that's irrelevant. The real point of the matter is that TO didn't pick up the damn phone, call his agent, and tell him to file the paperwork ASAP. There is no rule that says they HAD to wait until the deadline day to file it - why didn't it get turned in the day after the Niners' season ended (or whenever league rules allow that sort of stuff to begin)? Why did TO allow this to drag on and on and then have this happen? Sure, it's maybe not his responsibility to actually fill it out and file it himself, but there has to be some degree of responsibility on TO's part to make sure that it IS done. All that takes is a phone call - the agent works for TO, so TO could have demanded it be done ASAP. He didn't, and he missed the deadline. End of story. TO belongs to Baltimore, and he should have to play for the Ravens. His "winning" the right to play for the Eagles is a black mark against the league and potentially sets a very dangerous precedent. And how were the Niners "working a loophole?" By trading TO to the highest bidder when he belonged to them? By demanding compensation from the Eagles after the trade they made was (apparently) unjustly overturned? I don't get what you mean there. You want to talk about honoring his contract? Fine. The contract said that it could be voided by March 2. Owens' contract states that the player needed to void the contract by March 2, but the NFL and the 49ers have argued that the player needed to do so before the Feb. 21 date listed in the collective-bargaining agreement, a document that they argue supersedes Owens' contract. Kessler disagreed, saying after the hearing: ``The bottom line is that he was within the time period provided. Very simply, the language that changed certain players' dates did not apply to his contract. That's what the dispute is about.'' Source

You silly man. This is either Bill Clinton's fault or George W. Bush's fault. Everything bad that has ever happened is because of them. -

how long till a parent group blames this on Buffy or Angel? Geez, he didn't even try to use a stake or a crossbow. Some vampire slayer he is. Maybe he thought it was a demon with a hole in the side of his face. "Those things never work." -
I really really don't understand why Boston was traded yesterday. Baltimore would have definately given up a 3rd or 4th rounder this year for him, since he's infinately better than Dez White or Kevin Dyson. The Baltimore receiving corps is dead, the only legit threat is poor Todd Heap.
-
David Boston on the verge of being traded to Miami For a 6th round pick and a player to be named later. Uh...wtf? I mean, I'm no fan of David Boston, but he has to be better than a 6th rounder and some scrub. AJ freakin Feeley was traded for a 2nd. The Chargers are getting screwed here, especially since they could just wait it out and dish off Boston to the loser of the Terrell Owens sweepstakes.

What? I mean, if they cut him to free up room for someone not named Warren Sapp, it could make sense...but Sapp?!?!?! WTF. Cleveland signed a good blocking Fullback yesterday. They've made a lot of improvements.

Police Secretly Watching Hip-Hop Celebs
LaParkaMarka replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Current Events
There is nothing wrong with this reasoning above. Plus, I don't see how it's racial profiling since the biggest rapper right now is a white guy. It's a good idea to have some vague understanding of the people you're dealing with. Knowing whom is feuding with whom can only help the police. There were 200 arrests last year stemming from when they were all in town. A better understanding of the underlying culture can possibly prevent things from flaring up. It's bizarre to see the cops get knocked for actually trying to learn about people. I can also see rappers who know they're being staked out just blast "Fuck Tha Police". -

That would be my favorite segment ever. Sorta wonder how Brock will get treated if he ever does come back. I suppose he'd work a limited schedule and would be used to elevate other talent, sort of how Goldberg was used. McMahon is spiteful enough to really bury the guy. But hey, Hogan got another title reign, so who knows.

Depressing, yes, but you have to admit that it's hilarious when he re-discovers food! That was such a great scene, because it's so rare that you actually see him happy. Of course, that happiness gets snatched away, but what can ya do. Mole- That's funny that you watch the depressing eps to make yourself feel better. If anything, they make me feel worse. I suppose watching "Hero" last night didn't help. Whoops. Jesus, this thread is going to be like this until May. -

Buffy was done. Where else could they have gone with her story? Buffy's wacky European adventures? Doesn't really work. Spike would have still gone to Angel, even if one of the other Buffy characters got a spin-off (eg Faith). At least, that's what I figure. Back to Angel, I finally saw the ep where he becomes human for 24 hours. One of the more depressing Whedonverse eps, especially when Angel and Buffy have a minute left and their stupid song comes on and Buffy is so upset...sigh. I need to go watch Smile Time or something.
