Eww, why Emma? Marsters showed the most acting chops out of the cast of season 7, he should have gotten the spot.

Johnson was really good at the beginning of the year. He definately went downhill somewhere in the middle of the year though, and ended the season pretty badly. Still, he isn't a useless QB...better than, say, Tim Rattay or AJ Feeley. Plus, Gruden did try to sign Garcia.

DJ is much, much better as a number 2 guy than a number one. He would have had a Peerless Price time of it in Philly or something. Much better for him to stay with in Seattle. If Hasselbeck doesn't let the INT from overtime last season bother him, they should be fine on offense.

Seattle re-signs Darrell Jackson Bucs sign Charlie Garner Looks like DJ gets to drop some more passes with the Seahawks. They have a solid offense, but the D could be shaky without a quality corner like Springs. Garner is a much better running back than Michael Pittman, and his style should mesh well with Mike Alstott. There has also been rumors than the Bucs might have to release John Lynch over restructuring problems. That could be a big blow.

From the Washington Post: The deadline for Owens to void the final three seasons in his contract originally was to come in early March, but was changed through an agreement between the league and the union. A source said yesterday that Joseph was notified of that change by fax. Joseph would be Owens' agent. Maybe a couple of agents didn't get the fax. Also, TO was the one whining about how the date was changed and him and his agent weren't notified, so that piece of info should be taken with a grain of salt.

Apparently the date for voiding the contract was changed, and Owens and his agent didn't know about it. The agent for Dennis Northcutt didn't know either, so this wasn't totally isolated. If the league really allowed Owens leeway with the trade because of the voiding problem, then I can see how Owens would be upset. He's a selfish jerk, but he still shouldn't get blatantly screwed over like that. Karma, I suppose. Greg Knapp must be laughing over in Atlanta.

Sather better trade someone not named Messier to Vancouver. He's already helped four of the six Canadian teams.

I just saw the highlights of Sens/Flyers. Insane. There were at least three massive brawls that started up after faceoffs. And that was after the first huge fight. Gotta love the sight of almost completely empty benches by the end of it. I like Ottawa more than Philly. But even Ottawa fans must have enjoyed that game to an extent. Damn.

..yes, and retiring means not being a slayer, hence having a normal life. Ding ding ding. Andrew said his orders re: "Dana the psycho slayer" came straight from Buffy herself. She isn't retired. Maybe semi-retired, but still in charge.

He tried to talk at the end of the 2002-2003 season. He was in the running for MVP, and he was getting interviewed about that on the field post-game. Of course, other players kept jumping in and saying how he should be MVP, and then eventually Peyton Manning sauntered over and half took over the interview. Even though the interview was about Marvin Harrison, he barely got a word in. The only thing his teammates had to say, though, was how good he was. I guarantee you wouldn't have a similar interview with Owens, and probably not with Moss either. Harrison and Moss are better than Owens. Physically, Moss is better than Owens. Mentally, Harrison is better than Owens. Hell, guys like Chad Johnson and Torry Holt are better than Owens IMO. He just didn't produce enough in 2003-2004 to garner the sort of acclaim that Moss and Harrison get.

I understand how that story played out, RRR. But it really felt like it was something a lot more important than Buffy getting kicked out of home. It really didn't seem like the First was Joyce in that scene...didn't exactly play to it's MO (see The First fucking with Willow/Faith/Wood). Like Sakura said, it seemed like they had a lot more planned for that, and then just changed it to suit their needs. About the scythe, I didn't mind it too much, especially since it was already in canon from the Fray comics. Really lame how Caleb died though. At least with the Beast, we saw that the "good guys" could not beat him, and never would have. Only Angelus could. And jobbing to Angelus isn't exactly getting buried. With Caleb, his death was a big joke. Poor Caleb.

but NOT THE NASHVILLE PREDATORS!!! GREAT SCOTT NO! And not the Canucks either.... Believe me, no one here wants him. Stupid Messier. He drove Trevor Linden out of town. And Trevor Linden is god. Thus, Messier is obviously Satan. He should go to the Devils or Sabres.

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Great episode. Angel is hitting it's stride, and it's so sad to know it'll be gone. Also: Fred + Illyria = HOTHOT + 2. One thing though. Through the last two eps, everyone has flipped about possibly losing Fred, and then actually losing Fred. Yet Cordy has no one even mention her (outside of Angel). She also died, and in a lot of ways she was the center of the Angel gang. Obviously less so after the whole "fucking Connor/birthing an evil God" thing, but still...not even a mention from the cast. But Fred gets 100 scenes of "We have to save her!" and "I can't believe she's gone" and "Let's call Willow and revive her". Poor Cordy. And, I totally agree with Sakura re: Season 7. I loved it while it was going on, but the dropped stories (especially the Dawn/Joyce thing from Conversations with Dead People) just annoyed me. Chosen itself was an ok finale, but it just didn't do it for me.

Teen tries to kill girl, to have sex w/her corpse

Isn't it better to give people like that life in prison without parole, as opposed to the death penalty? A relatively painless death isn't exactly all that much of a punishment. Let him become the cell block's bitch for the rest of his life. A more fittting punishment. I've never really gotten the argument for the death penalty, just because life in prison seems worse. Though it does make sense if you have a lot of overcrowding in prisons.

Man, these "1st round, 2nd round, and prospect" for one player trades seem really bad. I understand with Gonchar...if he sticks around, he'll be an asset for years. But Leetch? He'll probably retire if the lockout happens. This isn't quite as dumb as giving up a 1st and 2nd in the NFL...but it's still seems dumb. Hey, who knows though. If Leetch and the Leafs hoist the cup at the end of the year, I guess it'll be worth it.

If Oakland grabs Fitz or one of the other stud WRs, who is going to throw to them? Gannon is an old jerkoff, but at least he can throw. Tuiasusopo (sp?) didn't exactly look terribly impressive last year. If the Raiders ditch Gannon, they should really draft a QB instead of Fitz.

I dunno, a 1st and 2nd round pick plus a prospect? That is quite a bit. If this lockout ever gets resolved, Washington will have a very good team in 4-5 years.

I can't believe Montreal landed Kovalev. As a Canuck fan, I'm mildly annoyed that they didn't grab a guy like Kovalev if he was available. But I guess we're fine at RW, and Montreal kicks all kinds of ass. Go Habs! A resurgent Calgary, a tough Montreal team...is it 1989 or something?

Nah, San Diego would just trade down with someone who desperately needs a QB. Like Miami or Arizona.

Xander has never been "bad;" unless you count "The Wish," but I don't count that. Xander's moment of "evil" was leaving Anya at the alter. Xander was always the normal guy, real world guy and his evil was one that would happen in the real world. And I don't care how many women you talk to, you can't get more evil to them than leaving them standing at the alter in their dress with their family there. I agree with you that it was pretty evil. But it always seemed like Xander was still portrayed as very sympathetic about the whole leaving-Anya-at-the-altar thing. I remember an ep where she was bitching about what happened and Xander told her off. You didn't see something similar happen with Willow after her evil incident. You also didn't see a whole ton of remorse from Xander either, when compared to Willow and Faith etc. And really, what's worse: flaying a misongynistic murderer, or breaking your fiance's heart? I say this because I always saw Anya as much more sympathetic than Xander about the whole thing, but the show seemed to have this pro-Xander bias going on.
