    PRIDE Welterweight GP

That is merely a good picture and I am a fan of fight fotography. It in no way implies Fisher Fandom. So who is in the final 8? Kang Chonan Misaki Gono Filho Suloev Mousasi Henderson If so, Suloev/Gono would be swank, Filho/Hendo, Mousasi/Misaki, and Chonan/KANG.

And I can't possibly like Gono, Misaki, or Ishida -even if I wanted to, which I do- just because Lei Tong liked them first. I DO NOT FOLLOW!

    X-Men 3

The computer effects in the beginning to "de-age" Prof X and Magneto SUCKED, btw. Seriously, this was the X-Men George Lucas would have directed, shitty dialogue and needless special effects and all.

Diego is going to get fucked

All 3 of Karos losses have come from strong wrestlers who took him down and grinded him out (Sherk 2x, GSP). I see Diego doing the same thing. Some will point to the Alessio fight to show how poor Diegos takedowns are, but Karo doesn't fight like Alessio - Karo will engage Diego which will make the takedowns easier. Plus, Karo got taken down by Nick Diaz, it shouldn't be hard for Sanchez to. Also, Sanchez has a better gas tank than Parisyan, and his sub defense is very good, which means Diego could possibly out-work Karo in the first two rounds and maybe even finish him in the third, and even if he doesn't finish, the work he did will get him the decision.

    TUF 3: The Thread

"Throw a flying knee" is one of the more ridiculous suggestions made by a coach, unless Nickels was practicing them for a while in training, which is unlikely. The coach should, you know, give instructions a guy can carry out. "Flying armbar~! DO IT!" In regards to Promos and Personalities, I think Brandon Vera is comparable to The Rock in regards to charisma.

    TUF 3: The Thread

Here's the thing, and this is why I think TUF3 is the best pro wrestling show on television today... It's not about highly skilled fighters having a technical battle. It's about two personalities fighting each other. While the fights are a big part of the show and the end result, they are not, however, what drive the show. The personalities do. So calling the show bad because the fights aren't of high quality is missing the point - this show, perhaps better than the past two, and certainly better than every pro wrestling show out there today and in the past 6 or 7 years, has done a tremendous job showing these fighters' personalities and developing storylines and relationships and conflicts and have managed to resolve them as well, and have built towards these entertaining, albiet amateurish and lopsided fights, in a way that I have not seen or been effected by in a long, long time.

    X-Men 3

I don't think extra time would have saved the dreadful dialogue. Writer: I think this script is ready. Writer 2: I know it's ready, but are YOU ready? Writer 3: Guys, come on, team work. Writer: The best offense is a good defense. Writer 2: Slow down guys, I gotta get this down, this stuff is gold... Writer 3: I hear you're a real animal. Writer: You've always wanted to build bridges. Wah wuh.

General legal question about business world

It's usually written into the employment contract whether or not an employee can be/is monitored. Generally speaking, if the message is on the companies phone message server, it's the companies message and the boss can listen to them because of his position. The employee could request that the boss not listen to the specific message because it was of a personal nature and if the boss does the employee can take it up with HR and call it some sort of harassment, however -again- depending on the contract, there may or may not be a case there. If it is the employees personal phone, then the boss has no right to do that.

The wild punches reminded me of Lindland. Are you saying that in regards to Matt using punches to set up the takedown and then grinding out GnP as well as complementing his wrestling with some submissions? I'd go more towards Evan Tanner with the way Tanner used the clinch as well as his hard(er) GnP. I dunno if Matt has a problem taking guys down, but when he's down there he couldn't finish it. Plus when he had Nickels in the clinch, he just dirty boxed and didn't throw any knees.

Hamill/Nickels was so not the worst fight I've ever seen. One of the less skilled fights, yes, and it certainly had an amateur quality about it, but that was non-stop slop, which was tremendous.

What are you a total geek about?

I'm too lazy to be a total geek. I've got almost 20,000 posts on a wrestling message board, so there's that, but that doesn't take a whole lot of effort and to be a geek you've gotta put effort into it. But then again, I know way too much stuff about wrestling for me not to be a gigantic nerd. But it's not like I go out of my way for wrestling as most of the shit relating to it I do on a whim, and it's not like there's this organization of things which tends to also be a geek deal. I once went to a Star Trek Convention, which is probably the geekiest thing I've ever done and while I am a Star Trek fan, I went there for a Firefly panel discussion and then left shortly afterwards. I'm not one to be too cool for school, but I don't see me going back to one of those deals again. MMA is probably the geekiest thing right now. I'm willing to spend lots on MMA, whereas with wrestling if it's over $20, it's too much. And TV. Television Shows are probably the most geeked out I get. Gilmore Girls, Lost, AR, 24, etc. When I enjoy a show, I enjoy it to absurd levels which can only be considered pure unfiltered geekery. I own more TV shows on DVD than I do movies and music put together and I am trying very, very, hard not to put any of my pay to buying more DVD's mainly because if I start I might not stop until I have no money left. Maybe I am confusing geek and junkie, or would they be interchangable?

    HTQ's Thoughts - 6/1/06. Inc. some MMA.

So what are the odds the main event ends up being Sabu/RVD vs. Rey/Cena in typical ECW match-merging fashion?

Good Rant, lord you really hate MMA journalists (are there any you do like?). Though I imagine why he still has the position is because he gets the articles done in time and can format them, both of which tend to be problems among writers, MMA in general (cough).

LOTC, watching the fight was a Fedor/Cro Cop-like experience, only scaled down with less crying. The kneebar and kimura attempts had me yelling "NONO NONNONO!" and when he escaped I celebrated like Chute Boxe.

So what is going to be the semis? Ideally, Kalib and Ed fighting in the finals, as it would be kinda unwise to have either of them against Rory/Kendall where we'd get another Diego/Kenny blow out. Matt/Bisping, by far, has been built as the number one fight on this show, and it's a question of whether they want it in the finals. It's tough, because going by Matts performance tonight against one of the worst guys on the show, the odds of him making it to the finals are slim so they might as well get a big rating out of it and make it a semi - because the TUF finals are pretty much guaranteed a 2.0 rating, given that TUF2 was far inferior and still got a 2. But then you'd get either Jesse or Josh in the finals as well, and while Josh has the nice story behind him, it's not really a marquee match. I could see them doing Jesse vs. Bisping just to foreshadow what happens when Bisping fights a wrestler (which is to say, slaughters), and how he has benefitted from all the training with Matt, and then have Matt and Josh swing away until one falls or the bell rings.

TUF3 is the best pro wrestling show on television today. Which may not say alot because Raw, Smackdown, and Impact are all pretty awful -especially Raw and Smackdown- but TUF does pro wrestling better than TNA and WWE by a fucking mile.

Bisping is going to slaughter Matt unless Matt magically finds skill outside of wrestling.
