  1. Not doing Show/RVD 1 on 1 is a blatant way of refusing to put the belt back on RVD. In fact reading about this Chamber bullshit has flat out made me refuse to get this PPV. I mean who the hell else can they put the title on that the fans won't detest? I know Vince at this point flat out doesn't wanna put the title back on RVD, but if they aren't going to do that they may as well kill the brand off since it was mostly brought back as a vanity vehicle for RVD to get over anyway.

    NFL Week 8

And now let's see how I did this week in the predictions. Atlanta (4-2) at Cincinnati (4-2): Tough game to call here since both teams need a win. When in doubt in a tossup game like this, go with the home team. Bengals by 6. (Total tossup, but I had the wrong teams. 0 for 1) Houston (2-4) at Tennessee (1-5): Jobber matchup here, though both teams have shown signs of life. Since the Titans have had 2 decent games in a row to Houston's 1, I'll take the Titans by 7. (Titans won by 6. 1 for 2) San Francisco (2-4) at Chicago (6-0): Can't see the Bears having two mediocre efforts in a row, so they should squash the Niners by at least 14. (This was an assbeating as everyone predicted. 2 for 3) Arizona (1-6) at Green Bay (2-4): Stick a fork in the Cardinals, they are done. The Packers aren't all that much but they should be able to win this one at home. Packers by 10. (Packers actually had it even easier than this. 3 for 4) Seattle (4-2) at Kansas City (3-3): Chiefs are a curious team, up and down. Seattle won't have Hasselbeck and maybe not Alexander so they Chiefs should get a home win by about 7. (Chiefs won 35-28. 4 for 5) Baltimore (4-2) at New Orleans (5-1): Will the Saints' magic run continue? The Ravens really need a win right now, so it won't be easy. I think the Saints will manage to edge the Ravens at home though, something like 20-17. (The Saints may well have finally been exposed today. 4 for 6) Tampa Bay (2-4) at NY Giants (4-2): Giants can't afford a home slip up against the Bucs, so they should win this one in tougher than expected fashion. Giants by 7. (Giants won it by 14 and are on a roll. 5 for 7) Jacksonville (3-3) at Philadelphia (4-3): Okay, here are two teams who both desperately need a win. McNabb should rebound though, so I'll take the Eagles 28-21. (Jacksonville is back to winning the only way they can: 13-6. 5 for 8) 4:00 games: St. Louis (4-2) at San Diego (4-2): This should be a fun, high scoring game. Can't see the Chargers losing two in a row, but I can see the Rams losing 2 in a row. Chargers by 7, maybe 35-28. (Wasn't as close as that, Chargers roll. 6 for 9) Pittsburgh (2-4) at Oakland (1-5): The Raiders finally got a win, but let's not push it here. Steelers should beat the crap out of them even with Batch. Pittsburgh by 14. (Oh my God. Stick a fork in the Steelers, they are done. 6 for 10) Indianapolis (6-0) at Denver (5-1): Okay, the Broncos actually have to play someone who can (gasp) score. Even though the Broncos usually have the Colts' number in the regular season (only to get stomped in the playoffs) I'll say the Colts edge them 21-17. (Higher scoring than I figured, but the result was the same. 7 for 11) NY Jets (4-3) at Cleveland (1-5): Ugh, what a boring game. The Jets should be able to get a road win here, but likely in a low scoring affair. Jets 16-10. (Browns got a surprising win here. Bah. 7 for 12) 8:15: Dallas (3-3) at Carolina (4-3): Doesn't matter if it is Bledsoe or Romo, the Panthers should be able to win this one at home. Carolina by 7. (Okay this shocked me. 7 for 13) Well I started off good but man there were some bizarre results today.

I think U of L can certainly move into a strong #3 position with wins over WVU and Rutgers, two unbeaten teams. You know what's truly a deranged thought? If Rutgers beats U of L they seriously are gonna be 11-0 when WVU stomps their asses in the final game of the season. I can buy Rutgers at 10-2 with losses to WVU and U of L, but an 11-1 Rutgers? What the fuck?

    College Hoops '07: November 2006

Well, South Carolina wasn't a great team last year or anything but they did manage to beat Florida twice and then damn near beat them for the SEC tourney title. I can't recall the two regular season matchups off hand but the SEC finals was a low scoring, plodding 52-50 type game. In the NCAA tourney Georgetown was really the only team that tried to do this. UCLA probably would have liked to, but Florida jumped them off the bat.

    College Hoops '07: November 2006

I don't think the Florida/Zona comparison is valid. Arizona had a fluke run in 1997 that there was no way they would replicate (beating 3 #1 seeds??). Florida had a dominant run through the tourney aside from maybe the Georgetown game. Zona also was heavily reliant on Bibby and Simon, so someone like Utah could shut them down and pound them on the inside. The only way to beat Florida is to get them into a low scoring snoozer like Georgetown did.

Oh man, I almost want to see that one doomsday scenario happen. If an undefeated WVU or U of L gets fucked over so that Michigan and Ohio St. can have a rematch that might finally be the last straw. In years past it was always two unbeatens vying for 1 BCS spot, or a bunch of flawed 1 loss teams vying for that 2nd spot. Or maybe an unbeaten team from a small conference that no one cared about. But this? It would be a team from a major conference that is unbeaten being screwed in favor of a team with 1 loss. Here's another oddball scenario that I'll toss out there since I'm a Louisville fan: Hypothetically speaking let's say U of L goes 12-0, but gets screwed out of the title game in favor of Michigan/OSU II. We'll say OSU beats Michigan in the first meeting, but Michigan avenges the loss in the title game. U of L beats someone in their own BCS game and ends up being the only unbeaten team. What happens then? Share of the title?

    NFL Week 7

Here are the games for Sunday, October 22. I'll post my predictions as well. 1:00: Detroit at NY Jets: Tough one to call really. Lions got that elusive 1st win, but I figure the Jets to win here by about 6. Green Bay at Miami: Yeah, the Packers suck but losing to the Dolphins at this point is like franchise killing level bad. I'll take Favre over whoever Miami tosses out there. GB by 4. San Diego at Kansas City: Chiefs are coming off a total beating and I'd certainly think SD would add to their woes. Chargers by 10. Pittsburgh at Atlanta: Steelers layed said beating on the Chiefs, but are they really back? Another tough call but I'll go with the Steelers pulling it out by 3. New England at Buffalo: Bills are struggling but should put up a tough effort at home. That said, the Patriots will pull this one off in typical fashion, something like 20-14. Jacksonville at Houston: Jags coming off a bye week, but it's hard to say which team will show up. The team that can barely score 10 points, or the team that scored 41. I'll say somewhat in between, Jags 21-10. Carolina at Cincinnati: Bengals are on a 2 game slide, Panthers are playing well right now. Bengals need this really, really bad so I'll reluctantly take them to win here by 7 at home. Philadelphia at Tampa Bay: Are the Bucs regrouping to some extent? I can't see them winning this game but they'll keep it reasonably close. Eagles by 6. 4:00: Denver at Cleveland: This will be like watching paint dry. If either team gets to 20 I'd be surprised. Broncos should win another 17-10 type game. Arizona at Oakland: I'll go on a limb here, albeit not much of a limb. The Cardinals may well have a hangover after the debacle on Monday, so I will take the Raiders to pull of that elusive first win. Raiders 21-17. Washington at Indianapolis: Colts are coming off a bye week, Skins are struggling. I'll go with the Colts at home by 10, since they need the win before the tough road games at Denver and NE. Minnesota at Seattle: Vikings are still a bit of a mystery team, and if this was in MN I'd take them to win. In Seattle though? Nah. Seahawks by 10, 31-21. Monday 8:30: NY Giants at Dallas: This looks like a total tossup. Cowboys finally have to play someone decent at home. I'll go with Dallas picking up the home win by 3 in OT.

I don't think there's any way they can feasibly leave out an unbeaten Big East team, regardless of who it is. The worst scenario is for U of L to beat WVU, then have a letdown at Rutgers, then Rutgers gets crushed by WVU to end the season. All three end up at 11-1 and no one goes to the title game. Let's face it, if U of L beats an unbeaten WVU and then an unbeaten Rutgers, how on earth can they not be #3 in the BCS? Ditto WVU should they win out. From there it's a matter of the Michigan/OSU loser dropping down to 3rd, which I'd hope they would. Let's just say that if the loser of that game stays #2 in the BCS and an unbeaten Big East team is fucked over, hopefully it's the end of the BCS as we know it.
  9. I'm not sure attendance is the exact way to measure the Cubs. Let's face it, a lot of people go to Wrigley for the sake of going to Wrigley. Hell, if I went to Chicago from April-September I'd likely try to go to a Cubs game. Their attendance may have sucked in those early 60s years, but I don't know if simply going to the Cubs game at Wrigley was quite the same historic experience. The Cubs have done more in the past 3 years to kill their fanbase than any team I can think of. From the horrid collapse against the Marlins to Sosa's corked bat, to Sosa subsequently walking out on the team, to the last month collapse in 2004 and the flat out embarrassing last 2 seasons. Oh and I still hate them for firing Steve Stone and Chip Caray. The Cubs made the huge mistake of tantalizing the fans with the prospect of winning big....and then blowing it in catastrophic, historic fashion. I can vouch they have pretty much lost me as a fan, though I'm from an area that has no MLB team so I mostly just watched the Cubs on WGN or the Braves on TBS. So I'm by definition more casual as a fan. How do die hard Cubs fans in Chicago feel?

Controversy Creates Cash - Eric Bischoff

Hawk, I gotta take issue with some of what you say. First, Eddie eventually got awesome on the mic. Certainly one of the best in the business from roughly mid 2000 till his death. Now his early WCW stuff? Yeah, he was nervous and sucked on the mic back then. Also, Eddie wasn't pushed because Brock was leaving. In fact I'd say it was the opposite: Brock left because Eddie was going to be pushed with the title and he wasn't for a long while. To me, Eddie flat out forced Vince to push him by being the most over guy on SD, having great matches, etc. And I don't mean he was possibly the best guy on the show, it was obvious. You gotta push a guy when he's obviously the most talented guy on the show and getting the best reactions.

    World Series: Tigers vs. Cardinals

Isn't it weird that the Tigers actually had won the World Series more recently than the Cardinals until tonight (1984 for Detroit, 82 for STL)? It's strange since the Tigers basically fell of the face of the earth for nearly 2 decades and the Cardinals have for the most part stayed in the mix.

    World Series: Tigers vs. Cardinals

I must be living in an alternate universe. Did I actually just see Jeff Weaver pitch a gem to clinch a World Series? People can trash the Cardinals and call them the worst ever WS winner, but really this team was fairly similar to the teams of the past 2 years that won 105 and 100 games. Before the season if someone had predicted the Cardinals would win the World Series I don't think anyone would have said it sounded crazy. The Cardinals were solid this year too until seemingly everyone went down with injuries and they went on major losing streaks. Anyway, I'm glad to see STL win it. Back in the day Louisville used to have the AAA affiliate for the Cardinals, so I have a soft spot to this day.

oAo ECW on Sci Fi Thread // October 24, 2006

Yeah but let's face it, you know they will put off RVD/Show Part 3 until this PPV. And frankly once Show jobs the belt they need to get him off ECW period. Maybe have him say "If I can't beat RVD this time, I'll leave ECW." I dunno about an RVD/Sabu/Sandman 3 way. I don't really recall an RVD/Sandman match or if there was one in ECW it wasn't very good. And RVD/Sabu is like watching the same guy wrestle himself.
  14. Of course Christian would job to Sting. It's sort of like they turned him heel on Sting originally with zero clue of what to do with him afterwards. Perhaps they are just saving Christian and Sting for another PPV.
  15. Bobby Roode seems exactly like a dozen guys in OVW. If he was in WWE he'd probably be getting some midcard semi push on SD feuding with Tatanka or Sylvan. Russo or someone else, it doesn't really matter. The TNA bookers don't seem to grasp basic booking acumen. When Wrestler A screws Wrestler B out of a title, then Wrestler B is supposed to go after him and kick his ass. Anyone watching knows that Abyss or whomever wins this tourney is just going to job to Sting anyway, so just skip this and go straight to the more interesting Sting/Christian match.

oAo ECW on Sci Fi Thread // October 24, 2006

Yeah I meant Heyman in his TV character, though who knows. Maybe he is booking the show? It seems like his precise role differs from week to week. That said, jobbing RVD to the Show in the actual title match makes no sense on any level. There won't exactly be any contenders left at that point.
  17. Jesus, this stuff made no sense reading it. When it comes to wrestling, it's best to not have the audience decipher a whole page of stipulations for a match (like King of the Mountain). I read those tourney stips a couple times and it still makes little sense to do it that way rather than just do a standard tourney. Why the hell aren't guys like Joe and Angle IN this tourney? Why is Christian still fucking around with Rhino? Dude, you jobbed in your hometown. It's over. Now let Christian go off and lose to Sting like a good boy.

I'm starting to get a very bad feeling about this Show/RVD feud. Why do I think that Heyman will keeping booking this match week in, week out with RVD having to overcome all these stips to get his title shot...then just job in the title match?

I have to admit, I have no idea where they are going with some of this. Are they really going to just do Big Show vs. RVD for the title unannounced on TV? Can't see that. You know, I almost think they might get the title off of Show by doing a 3 or 4 way where the other guys just gang him and hit all their finishers on him, then all pin him at once (echoes of Taz losing the title vs. Awesome and Tanaka).

My Film Clips on You Tube

Hey guys. I posted several clips of the footage I have filmed so far on my movie, Welcome to Paradise. I am including links to You Tube so everyone can have a look. It was filmed with my Canon XL2 and done in 16:9 widescreen. The actors are my friends Jimmy Humphrey (as Brad) and Ian Neal Little (as Chris). In this scene Brad and Chris discuss punk rocker GG Allin before picking up their friends. The guys discuss the ill fated comic book crossover Deathmate. Chris gets on Brad about his drug use and inadvertantly getting the duo involved in an assassination attempt. The guys discuss their love lives before going off to assassinate Rev. Biggins. After the plan goes awry, Brad and Chris are tied up in a dingy basement and Brad relates a terrifying experience at a crack house. This is part 2 of the same basement scene, I had to break it up into 3 uploads. This is the last part of the basement scene, plus the last scene where Brad tosses his box of drugs. Anyway, that is what we've done thus far.

    Bound For GLory

In regards to Bobby Roode...the guy is crap. I think some of it is that he flat out does not fit the TNA roster in any way, shape, or form. Is he a well known hasbeen from WWE or WCW? Is he a homegrown dynamo that is generating huge buzz? An ultra talented X division guy? He's not any of those things. He seems honestly like the sort of guy who works down here in OVW and then gets brought up to Smackdown and feuds with Sylvan. I enjoyed the 8 Mile match. I don't think the crowd really gave a shit about Rhino losing in Detroit because it seemed like half the crowd were Canadians who came across the border. And let's face it, Rhino trying to play the sympathetic face causes cognitive dissonance.

    NFL Week 7

Let's see how the predictions went for today: Detroit at NY Jets: Tough one to call really. Lions got that elusive 1st win, but I figure the Jets to win here by about 6. (Jets won it by 7. 1 for 1) Green Bay at Miami: Yeah, the Packers suck but losing to the Dolphins at this point is like franchise killing level bad. I'll take Favre over whoever Miami tosses out there. GB by 4. (Packers actually somewhat easier than that. 2 for 2) San Diego at Kansas City: Chiefs are coming off a total beating and I'd certainly think SD would add to their woes. Chargers by 10. (Hmm...Chiefs are such a schitzo team. Upset here, so 2 for 3) Pittsburgh at Atlanta: Steelers layed said beating on the Chiefs, but are they really back? Another tough call but I'll go with the Steelers pulling it out by 3. (Crap, this was a total tossup and I picked the wrong side. 2 for 4) New England at Buffalo: Bills are struggling but should put up a tough effort at home. That said, the Patriots will pull this one off in typical fashion, something like 20-14. (Bills always seem to play the Pats tough once, then get crushed. 3 for 5) Jacksonville at Houston: Jags coming off a bye week, but it's hard to say which team will show up. The team that can barely score 10 points, or the team that scored 41. I'll say somewhat in between, Jags 21-10. (Wow, this was a shocker to me. The Jags usually don't have really out of nowhere losses like this. They usually beat who they can beat and lose to those better than them. 3 for 6) Carolina at Cincinnati: Bengals are on a 2 game slide, Panthers are playing well right now. Bengals need this really, really bad so I'll reluctantly take them to win here by 7 at home. (Hey, Bengals get a solid win today. 4 for 7) Philadelphia at Tampa Bay: Are the Bucs regrouping to some extent? I can't see them winning this game but they'll keep it reasonably close. Eagles by 6. (62 yard FG wins it for TB! 4 for 8) 4:00: Denver at Cleveland: This will be like watching paint dry. If either team gets to 20 I'd be surprised. Broncos should win another 17-10 type game. (It was 17-7, I think we all knew what this one was going to be. 5 for 9) Arizona at Oakland: I'll go on a limb here, albeit not much of a limb. The Cardinals may well have a hangover after the debacle on Monday, so I will take the Raiders to pull of that elusive first win. Raiders 21-17. (Haha. Did anyone else have this? 6 for 10) Washington at Indianapolis: Colts are coming off a bye week, Skins are struggling. I'll go with the Colts at home by 10, since they need the win before the tough road games at Denver and NE. (They won by 14 actually. 7 for 11) Minnesota at Seattle: Vikings are still a bit of a mystery team, and if this was in MN I'd take them to win. In Seattle though? Nah. Seahawks by 10, 31-21. (This was one of the biggest surprises of the day. Vikings looked really solid. 7 for 12) Man, there were several upsets this week. There's a reason I stopped betting.
