    Jericho or Benoit

I said Jericho, simply because TNA has enough quality wrestlers who aren't terribly exciting on the mic and Benoit just gives them one more of those. He'd probably be the BEST of those guys, but what they need is a very charismatic sort like Jericho who can get the viewer's attention. They only have 1 hour a week right now....what would they even do with all these guys?

    College Hoops: November

I hope Michigan St. doesn't go back to the FF. God they are just so stale and boring. Almost as dull as Wisconsin. If it's someone from the Big 10 and it isn't IU, go away. UK looked pretty solid last night and man this JC transfer Sims looks awesome for them. If they can just get Rondo and Sparks to quit turning the ball over they'll be harsh. I'm looking forward to the Guardians Classic tourney once the jobbers are gone and we get to the projected 4 of UK, Texas, WVU, and Iowa. I'm kinda wanting UK vs. WVU in the finals, or if not there in the 3rd place game. Is it just me or is Texas insanely overrated? They lost to friggin Nevada in the first round and are now #3?

Major changes going on in WWE

So, Dusty isn't the actual head booker? That's odd since I remember hearing that Lagana was helping to transition Dusty into the role of booker. As long as Dusty keeps his goofy Dusty Finish things to a minimum and doesn't come up with any goofy gimmicks I have no problem with him being around.

    Batista out indefinitely

Oh God, I can just imagine Jeff Jarrett now if Lashley won the title on Smackdown: "Hey, Vince just put his title on an uppity negro. We have to be different. Therefore I say just keep the title on me for another 6 months until we find someone who is ready. Sorry Monty, now go out there and make Lance Hoyt look like a million bucks."

Any serious thoughts about the nuclear option?

Nah, they shouldn't end it simply because now they've gotten both shows to the point where they each have an identity and even a bit different fanbases. I know lots of people watch both but there ARE people who just prefer to watch Smackdown and can't stand The HHH Show. Hell, my parents are among them. Besides, do we really need to see JBL twice a week, or HHH twice a week?

Why would Lashley be BS? I'll admit he's a new guy that's pretty green but he at least has some potential and would be fresh on the top of the card. But no, I don't either he or Kennedy are ready yet to main event.

    OVW Results Thread...

Bring Doane up to Smackdown and let him continue the feud with Bobby Lashley. Money in the bank, sez I. It should be noted that at that Stuart Middle School house show I went to last week Cappotelli threw his shirt into the crowd (which nearby was 3 rows of chairs, haha) and for some reason he threw the shirt to me. It was odd considering most of the crowd were school kids who would have loved to get his shirt and yet he throws the shirt to me (I'm 26 and took my brother). I mean I could give a shit less about the guy, so I just gave the shirt to the screaming kid behind me.

RUMOR: D'Amore May No Longer Be Head Booker

I wouldn't let Jarrett be the head booker, no. But replacing D'Amore might be a nice idea. For one, the guy puts himself all over TV and he's (in my view) the most God awful manager on earth. The guy has no mic skills and is just annoying as fuck in a "change the channel" sort of way. And from what I've seen thus far he puts his own Team Canada guys over entirely too much considering none of them is worth a shit aside from Petey Williams.

TNA Announces Major debut @ Genesis

Does this mean if Edge ever left for TNA he'd go back to his indy name that he was using at the same time as Christian Cage....Sexton Hardcastle!?

Dude, I thought Smackdown was going to be cancelled or run out of business when they put the belt on Bradshaw. So in that respect he surpassed my expectations. Then again they WERE given the death slot on Fridays...

    NFL Week X

Nah I don't see the Falcons blowing them out. I'd like to think Favre will muster up a great effort in that one vs. Vick...and of course lose by about 3-7 pts. Dallas/Philly as I said I have no idea how to predict since it's up in the air how the Eagles will react to the T.O. saga. Or even if they react well can they even win anyway? I think they will win it since the Cowboys are the biggest chokers in the league come 4th quarter (these guys could be unbeaten). Next week Eli will lay a shitkicking on the Eagles however. My Oakland over Denver pick is based on a couple things: 1. I don't think the Raiders are as bad as their record and they might be tough at home. 2. Denver is right on schedule for their usual 2nd half tankjob. I call a late TD to Moss similar to the KC game, but this time the Raiders will hold on. The Pats/Dolphins game is interesting since the Dolphins give the Pats a hard time even when NE is actually good. Took em to OT 2 years ago and beat them last year in Miami, I think they can do it. Besides, what fun is there in the Pats simply winning and seizing control of the division?

    New Dawn Marie photo

I dunno, if it was Simon would there really be any serious mystery about this? After all, I read about them being engaged 5 or 6 years ago. There has to be more to it than we know. I still say Kurt, but there's nothing but circumstantial evidence (like his wife divorcing him) to support this theory.

    Batista out indefinitely

3 months sounds really optimistic considering this sounded like the back area type version of HHH's leg injury, with the muscle coming off and rolling up, etc. It made me queasy hearing about it. For God's sake they cannot put the title back on Bradshaw. Besides the fact that he was business killing, heat killing level bad as champ he's already been definitively jobbed out of the title scene. It would make no sense now for him to suddenly win the title again. Just put it on Eddie again. The storyline points to it anyway.

    Batista/Cena switch

I think the switch was a big mistake. Batista has for the most part retained his credibility, but has had little to do besides a boring Bradshaw feud and now this stuff with Eddie that is amusing but doesn't really lend itself to a heated "I'd pay money to see it" situation. Cena fit in perfectly on Smackdown, so sending him to Raw was a big mistake. Smackdown has a bit different demographic (more urban, minorities, street vibe, etc) so his act fit in well there. Put him on Raw, which I think has a more white bread fanbase (and judging by the signs in the crowd, a more smarkish fanbase) and it's only natural the fans would turn on him.

    Batista out indefinitely

Going back, yes there was a lot of praise for the initial Orton angle where he was tossed from Evolution. That lone night was a very hot angle. The problem is that they had no idea how to book it from there. Orton wasn't exactly a sympathetic figure and he was just thrown into matches teaming with the very guys he'd spent months fucking over (Benoit, Shawn, etc). There's no way they can put the title back on Bradshaw. No fucking prayer of that. That might be the kiss of death that makes me stop watching Smackdown entirely. The only other guys even in contention at the moment are Eddie and Orton, so it's got to be one of them.

    Batista out indefinitely

Well, this whole thing is very unfortunate since Batista has been just about the only stable thing in the company this year. For those who think Batista isn't over, hell, at least he hasn't had crowds turn on him like Cena. I'd just put the title on Eddie right now, but with this Batista injury I honestly can't think of anything all that decent they can do with the Smackdown main event scene. There's just no "there" there. Put it on Eddie? Sounds good, who are his opponents? Put it on Orton? Why would this draw a dime? If they aren't going to put it on Eddie I'd almost just shoot someone up the card (Lashley, Kennedy, whoever). Unlike Orton, those guys don't have the stigma of a previous title run that was a flop.

    Awesome 1-2-3 punches in albums.

I was about to mention Nevermind but how about In Utero: Serve the Servants Scentless Apprentice Heart Shaped Box (Come to think of it the following 4-6 of Rape Me, Frances Farmer, and Dumb is pretty solid too)

    Misused songs

Having read through this I will go with the CCR song on the jeans commercial. To anyone who has ever heard Fortunate Son it's embarrassing that it would be used as a rah rah song for a jeans ad. In fact that's even worse than Born in the USA being used out of context. The lyrics are similarly bleak but Born in the USA at least has a rah rah type chorus to it that the Reaganites latched onto. Fortunate Son is a raw sounding, angry song.

    OVW Results Thread...

I'm not sure what the indie CM Punk is like, my only previous exposure to him was in TNA as Raven's slave. Thus far on OVW he hasn't gotten much mic time. I wonder what is up with that Lashley/Doane finish. Is it Lashley's last match in OVW now that he's on Smackdown? If not what other reason could there be for jobbing him in a match where he seemed like the obvious winner? The whole point of the Doane/Lashley angle has been that Lashley was the real muscle behind Bolin Services and that he could KILL Doane if he felt like it. It's not like the Jeter/Cappotelli angle where the face can get screwed and keep coming back till he wins the title.

Segments that made you go WTF??

Yeah but the initial NWO stuff was good WTF type stuff. It was so out of nowhere and revolutionary. Before Hall and Nash did guys show up and run in on matches with no rhyme or reason? Attack people in the back they had no direct feud with? Hijack the production truck for the hell of it? Take over the announce booth? It was all really brilliant and insane.

Segments that made you go WTF??

Another forgotten WTF moment that I saw on 24/7. It was on the ECW Aug. 1994 show with Mikey Whipwreck vs. Jason. In that match Mikey bumps the ref, covers Jason, the refs seems to count 3 and the match is over. Then the Pitbulls come out and run in, beating Mikey down and then Jason covers him for 3 (?!). It was really, really weird. It continues on as Jason gives his victory speech to a bewildered Styles, seemingly hitting on Joey while then ECW jobber Chad Austin pours champagne on Jason. Oh, and Jason also said something like "It is so nice to have a belt now after years of promoters trying to take advantage of me!" As in, sexually. Styles was completely put off by the whole thing and when Jason left Joey then pleaded with the entire ECW lockerroom to beat the shit out of Jason and run him out of ECW!

TNA Announces Major debut @ Genesis

I'm amazed anyone thinks it's going to be that Nigel dude, or Haas, or Test. The Carter release said it was the biggest signing in TNA history. I can't believe she'd say all that about a Brit no one has ever heard of, or boring old Charlie, or fucking Test. Has to be Christian. And he has to cut a bitter, ranting promo.

The OAO RAW thread - 11/07/05

I actually saw Carlito in person at an OVW taping and can safely say he was shitty there too. Same old boring headlocks and restholds, zero credible maneuvers, etc. Mark Magnus (Hassan) was also on that taping and made zero impression on me either. So of course they bring up both guys and push them. Mind you, when I wondered about the HHH/Cena thing I'm not saying I even object to HHH beating him for the title. Lord knows Cena is stale as all shit. I mean we'll have a face (in theory) holding the title for a long time and then have the heel chase him down at WM. Personally I'd just have Cena drop it to Angle, use Angle as a transition guy to HHH at the RR, then have Cena chase the title at WM. The only big problem is that Cena's face heat is dwindling and I'm not sure fans would get behind him wholeheartedly.

    Christian Quits the WWE

Agreed. I wasn't seriously looking into getting this PPV but now I might want to see it. Well, that and to see the brutal Sabu/Abyss brawl that should be amusing.

    NFL Week X

And now, the predictions! Arizona at Detroit: What a shitfest. I guess Detroit since it's at home for them...by maybe 7. Baltimore at Jacksonville: The Mighty Jaguars (right 4hartthreat?) should win this by their usual boring means. Jags by 6. Houston at Indianapolis: Indy will have a slight comedown from the big win at NE, but should still win by double digits. Kansas City at Buffalo: Buffalo is uninspiring, so I'll take KC by 10 in a nice road win. Minnesota at N.Y. Giants: Vikings win one, then get their asses kicked. They won last week, so now that means Eli will kick their asses. New England at Miami: Not sure if this is an upset, but I'll take Miami. They are fairly tough at home, having beaten Carolina and Denver. San Francisco at Chicago: Let's hear it for the soon to be 6-3 Bears! Chicago by 7. Denver at Oakland: Denver is due for their usual 2nd half fucking up, and this is where it'll start. Oakland at the buzzer by 3. N.Y. Jets at Carolina: Panthers in an assraping, by about 20. Green Bay at Atlanta: This SHOULD be a good game in a just world, but the Pack is sad. Falcons by 6 in a decent affair. St. Louis at Seattle: Very interesting game, but Seattle already won in STL and I can't see the mighty Jamie Martin winning in Seattle. Hawks by 10. Washington at Tampa Bay: Bucs are falling apart with the crappy Chris Simms. Skins by 7. Cleveland at Pittsburgh: Without Roethisberger this will be UGLY, but I expect the Steelers will stagger to the win by about 10. Monday, Nov. 14 Dallas at Philadelphia: Very difficult game to call. What will the T.O. thing do to the Eagles? I think they'll be inspired at home to avenge the earlier loss to the Cowboys and win by 6. Doesn't mean much though.
