    Lance Cade gets future endeavor'd

Yeah, regardless of the wording I don't think JR should have mentioned this stuff in his blog. It's the sort of thing the net and dirt sheets would report, but not someone who actually works for the company.

2008 NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Yeah the Phillies were the better team here and I like that Charlie Manuel basically said "I have Cole Hamels and we're going to kick your ass and not worry about a Game 6." Now they can rest a while. You know, I wish Torre had started Maddux once in this series. Could it have really hurt considering the lousy starts the Dodgers had in this series? One thought about the Phillies in the WS: Brad Lidge is a ticking time bomb. He hasn't blown any saves all year and that makes me think he's saving that blown save for a time when it'll truly hurt the Phillies the most.

    Monday Night Wars

Man, that Raw was one for the ages. The actual formation of DX is on this show, and these antics I dare say hold up better now than they did at the time. This show also had a fun early Tajiri match vs. Brian Christopher that I didn't even remember. But wow, that Cornette rant bashing Phil Mushnick was what truly stood out to me. He ranted on Mushnick's call for a Congressional hearing on the deaths of pro wrestlers in the wake of Pillman's death, which in hindsight frankly makes Mushnick look right and WWE wrong. I also was amused by a couple of Cornette's quotes from Mushnick about WCW: "Ted Turner donated a billion dollars to charity, but a bigger act of charity would be if he closed down WCW." "WCW is only being kept alive by the fringe elements of society." Hilarious stuff.

    The SHOWDOWN at SHEA

Heyman's OVW booking was some of the best the company ever did, but once he left for the new ECW and Gagne took over the booking that show went straight to hell. Like night and day different. Anyway I am looking forward to watching this show, heard about it for years but never have seen any of it.

    Lance Cade gets future endeavor'd

I don't get what JR is trying to say. It's like he wanted to come out and say the whole story but was prevented from doing so. The seizure aspect could be anything, Ross didn't elaborate on it.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

Angle's storyline with Sharmell was at least amusing and while he admitting he wanted to do all these sex acts with her nothing really came of it and he got his ass kicked. The stuff with Sting's son and this deal with him talking about Jarrett's daughters isn't needed.

    ECW on Sci-Fi - October 14, 2008

It's no shock that this thread had more posts than Raw since this show was better than Raw. Bourne/Chavo was a terrific match. I don't even think they are trying to push Henry as winning this voting since the whole storyline is that he won't win and will be pissed. Bourne vs. Matt is clearly the best match here so I would hope he wins this vote. I'd be more willing to accept Finlay if he wasn't stuck in this Hornswoggle angle and cheating to win constantly.

    Lance Cade gets future endeavor'd

I recall Cade and Jindrak stealing a bounty from HHH at one point and he immediately beat them down with a sledgehammer and took the money back. That is roughly the high point of their run.

Best Hell In A Cell Match?

Let's not kid ourselves here...this comes down to either UT vs. HBK or UT vs. Mankind. There have been other quality HIAC matches but none that match the sheer insanity and freshness of those matches and how they shocked people. I voted for UT vs. Mankind since it stunned me so much at the time. UT vs. Michaels is probably a better actual wrestling match, but my disdain for 1993-97 Shawn prevents me from voting for it. Besides, it has a run in finish. #3 almost has to be Foley vs. HHH but since the ring was padded for the finish it can't match Foley actually crashing to the ring in the UT match. All of the other matches might be solid at times, but they don't really MATTER the way the first 2 did.

    Monday Night Wars

They should be getting near Jarrett's return interview where gives his thoughts on everything in the WWF. I loved the word association with HHH being mentioned: "Tag along." He also said he would be shocked if HBK didn't win vs. Bret, so maybe he knew something....

    Guys who you KNEW sucked

I've always found it bizarre that UT didn't feud with Papa Shango in 1992 but did feud with Kama in 1995. I would have given Wright a shot at UT as Shango since the voodoo MIGHT work, but Kama was just a boring big man gimmick that wasn't interesting.

2008 ALCS: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays

Oh this is an ominous move from Maddon and I don't like it. Right now the Rays have the Red Sox flat out on the ropes and having Kazmir stink up the joint tomorrow night could shift the momentum. This eerily reminds me of the Cubs/Marlins in 2003 when Dusty Baker had a chance to finish it in Florida in game 5, but was content with taking the series back to Chicago with Prior and Wood waiting.

    WWE SmackDown - October 17, 2008

You know, if they seriously want to bother pushing Kozlov he needs a finisher better than a friggin headbutt. What is this, 1978? I think we all know where this is headed for the PPV: Jeff wins the vote anyway, Kozlov gets pissed and runs in and attacks both HHH and Hardy. Let's just skip the next couple of months and get to the part where Vlad eats a Pedigree and gets jobbed out. As far as MVP goes, he desperately needs a trade to Raw.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

This doesn't sound like a bad show but on some level sounds too much like Angle getting his ego stroked in a return favor for jobbing at the PPV. So they feed him half the roster, announcers, and job out Matt Morgan to him. It's time to go with Kong/Roxxi #1 contender with the winner getting the belt off Taylor.

2008 ALCS: Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays

It's easy to say Rays/Phillies would be the lowest rated series in history, but why? I am quite excited about the Rays, since they've seized the AL East away from the NY/Boston strangehold and become a force. I'm certainly more interested in the prospect of that series than I was for nearly every post 2001 WS. Actually I was interested in Cardinals/Red Sox in 2004 but that ended up being a sweep. But really, would this series draw less than White Sox/Astros or Cardinals/Tigers?

    Coliseum and WWE Home Videos

Bruiser, you hint at something I thought about when I saw a HHH DVD. His matches, even the classics he's been in, all follow a pattern of shortcuts and sledgehammers, etc. When you watch one of them you'll walk away saying "Wow, what a great match." But then you watch the 3 Stages with Austin, the Foley HIAC, and bunch of others all at once and you see how repetitive it all gets.

    Lance Cade gets future endeavor'd

This is a little surprising since he's supposed to be Michaels' boy. The problem Cade had is that he's just another boring, bland white dude with a solid physique. His work is just whatever, nothing great, nothing awful. After Shawn destroyed him on Raw last week I kinda knew he was toast on Raw at that point, but I suggested trading him for MVP and getting him away from Jericho and Michaels.

    WWE Raw - October 13, 2008

I'm not sure I understand where the Jackass stuff is headed. Are they going to seriously attempt a PPV match with all of those guys vs. Khali? Or just drop the angle entirely? As far as last night I didn't think it was as horrid as others, but I could do without seeing Big Dick ever again. Personally I thought the Batista/HBK match was worse than the Jackass segment. I wasn't exactly expecting War and Peace once Knoxville showed up, but you'd think Michaels and Big Dave could have a better match than that. Worst Michaels match in a long time.

2008 NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Philadelphia Phillies

Good win for the Phillies. At this point I hope they just finish this since they are at least a credible team to make the World Series. Shall we get Philly vs. Tampa and have the lowest ratings in World Series history.....or perhaps Philly vs. Boston in a rematch of the 1915 World Series?

    NFL Week 7

Predictions: 1:00 games.. Dallas Cowboys @ St. Louis Rams: Wow, without Romo this looks iffy especially considering the Rams might have come to life. That said, I think the Cowboys somehow scratch out a win by 4. San Diego Chargers @ Buffalo Bills: Chargers look good one week, look like crap the next. This is a week to look like crap, with a trip to the east coast tossed in as well. Buffalo by 7. New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers: Both teams are puzzling and both need a win here. When in doubt, go with the home team. Carolina by 3, but the Saints should get payback later in the season. Minnesota Vikings @ Chicago Bears: I really don't buy the Vikings after nearly losing to the Lions. Bears are a good 3-3 if that makes any sense. Chicago by 8. Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cincinnati Bengals: It's the Bengals. No Palmer. Steelers coming off a bye week. Pittsburgh by 10. Tennessee Titans @ Kansas City Chiefs: Part of me is thinking upset here since the Chiefs beat the Broncos recently, but I just can't see this somehow. Titans by 6. Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins: The Ravens looked like a joke against Indy this past week, while I would think the Dolphins would be pissed over their last game. Miami by 10. San Francisco 49ers @ New York Giants: Giants really laid an egg vs. Cleveland, so who knows how they will respond. Still, I can't see the Niners going to the east coast and winning here so I'll say NYG by 12. 4:00 games.. Detroit Lions @ Houston Texans: The Texans are pretty good for a 1 win team, while the Lions have to be deflated after that Minn game. Houston by 7. New York Jets @ Oakland Raiders: Raiders may well be hopeless at this point, while Favre looks to be getting into a groove. Jets by 13. Cleveland Browns @ Washington Redskins: This is the toughest game to call of the week. On one hand the Browns look to be shaping up. On the other, the Redskins can't lose 2 in a row at home to STL and Cleveland. I'll take the Redskins by 1. Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers: If Matt Ryan can win at Lambeau, then Manning will win at Lambeau. Colts by 10. Sunday Night Football: Seattle Seahawks @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Dare I say Tampa with Jeff Garcia might be the best team in the NFC? Bucs by 14. Monday Night Football: Denver Broncos @ New England Patriots: Both teams need a win here but I can't really see Denver not putting up some points in a high scoring affair. Broncos by 5.

    WWE Raw - October 13, 2008

I have to admit I cracked up at Beth's botched slam of Knoxville tonight. I had to rewind the DVR to check it out again. Could have done without Big Dick Johnson however. Main event was dubious since it put the face of the match (Punk) in a bizarre position of getting biased officiating from a guest ref.

WWE General Discussion - October 2008

What is SD really building to in that case? The entire direction of the show is the storyline of "Jeff Hardy can't quite beat HHH and get the title." The only payoff to this angle is for Jeff to finally get over the hump and win the title, even if it's just to lose it back. Ironically giving Hardy the title right now is easier to do booking wise than if he was on his 1st or 2nd strike. In those cases it would require jobbing him and then suspending him, then not quite knowing what to do when he returns. In this case if he screws up again, he's fired.

    WCW Halloween Havoc 1992

This show has a lot of foolish stuff on it. It's not as bad as reputed though, I recall it being on 24/7 a year or two ago and I thought it was fairly entertaining. That said, stuff like Steamboat/Pillman wasn't as good as it could have been. Tag title match was solid wrestling but ends up not really mattering.

Ouch. Out 4 weeks and while the Cowboys should get a win over the Rams next week after that they have Tampa, NY Giants, and Washington.

    Bound for Glory Discussion

Taylor Wilde is getting the most wildly blatant push I've ever seen. A blatant push is someone who keeps winning, there's no reason why exactly, the wrestler isn't over enough to warrant that spot, yet they keep winning. Taylor has had the Knockouts belt for quite a while now yet we still don't know what her finisher is (does she have one?). It's clear that her title run has seriously hurt the women's division. It also doesn't help that these matches with Kong tell no real story other than "Taylor just does a lame roll up finish." There's no valid reason as to why or how Taylor Wilde could beat Awesome Kong. It literally isn't believable. At least with McCool I do see improvement from her in terms of adding moves and submissions. It's more tolerable with her since it's not like she holds the serious women's belt, just the pointless Divas title.
