    Who will take Batista's title?

Nah I think they'll just view the WWE title as what Edge will go after. Anyone who has seen my postings on the 2002 KOTR and Lesnar beating RVD in the finals knows my feelings on it. I think it was the single dumbest one match booking decision of the past five years. Anyone want to come up with something worse? There are plenty of "HHH beating _______" decisions, but there isn't just one that stands out. I never had any use for Brock after this match, it was the sort of "I will never like that guy" feeling I had when Michaels beat the British Bulldog for the IC in 1992. As far as JBL goes, I guess he literally wasn't the only reason why SMDN is being moved to Fridays and near certain death. But much like Justin Credible in ECW, his reign was so tedious and offensive to the casual fan that it hurt interest to the point where no one cared if the show was on anymore.

What is your predicted GAB card?

Actually Booker has quite a bit of credibility at the moment. Hell, he beat Angle pretty much every time (one on one) and basically ran him off the show. It was Angle who came out of that feud looking horrible. I pretty much agree with the other matches however. It'd be great for Eddie to finally get the win over Rey, then move on to Batista. Can't think of much else for him to do at that point. The bizarre aspect of the whole Eddie/Rey feud is this: They have built it up to where the big payoff is the heel FINALLY beating the face after having insane trouble with him. What the hell?

    For those who love torture

The 3 hour part is what makes it so hilarious. I haven't seen a Boll film and frankly the reviews I've read have steered me clear....I can't imagine anyone wanting to see 3 hours of this guy's work.

    I feel like

I assume you mean the two lame blond dudes from Reloaded....Smith would bitchslap. Hell, Morpheus more than held his own against them (I guess he killed them? They didn't show up again). Think about how Morpheus did against Smith in the first movie. Besides, even if they got lucky and killed Smith he'd just become someone else and it'd still be on.

    Who will take Batista's title?

Yeah but Orton is just sort of groan inducing, yet another rookie (or 2nd year) guy that got pushed way too fast. He goes right up there with Lesnar in that category. I think most people like Batista fairly well because he at least paid SOME kind of dues and got over naturally with the crowd, rather than being shoved down our throats. Is it just me or does WWE have no idea who to push and when? It's either push the rookie fucksticks (Lesnar, Orton, Hassan) or push a career midcard bum (JBL, even Bob Holly briefly). The idea of pushing people who are actually over seems to elude them, such as Jericho circa 1999-2000 and RVD 2001-02.

    Who will take Batista's title?

JBL isn't getting the belt again, please God no. Do you realize in the wake of his title run UPN moved the show to Friday and basically killed the entire show? His title run was like the Justin Credible reign of Smackdown. I'd personally like to see either Eddie or Christian but Christian just got waxed by Big Dave on Raw not too long ago and doesn't seem like a serious threat. I still think Eddie could be a threat because people remember him beating Lesnar and his losses of late have been mainly a mental block against ONE wrestler (Rey). Eddie would be fun because 1. Despite jobbing he still has credibility and 2. He's the most over heel on the show. Sadly, if I really had to lay down money it'd be Orton, and won't that suck? Is Hassan really Italian? I remember seeing him at an OVW taping when he was called Mark Magnus and didn't remotely think he was an Arab or anything.

    Napoleon Dynamite

I liked it pretty well, more than whatever Wes Anderson stuff I've seen. There was a lot of really out of nowhere humor in it, some of which cracked me up (Nap doing the bike jump and crashing) and some of it just baffled me (the farmer shooting the cow in front of the school kids). I swear some of this movie reminded me of Beavis and Butthead. There was a deleted scene with Nap and Pedro dicking around in the store, where they hide the suit Nap wanted, then go to a 7-11 type store and try to buy lotto tickets. I was thinking "Man this is straight out of a Beavis and Butthead episode."

My movie's close to being completed

Thing is, it was for English class so if there was a lot of talky stuff people mostly half assed it and just did the actual book dialogue. We had some amount of dialogue but there was a lot of action in it.

Well it isn't something I was keen on but we had like 1 day to film everything and we just did whatever came to mind really. And ketchup blood it had to be. Regardless I think we had the best video by far of anyone, but then we had the best stuff to film (Myrtle being run down, Gatsy being shot, etc). Other groups had this crap like Gatsy chatting with Nick Carraway, wasn't too exciting.

My movie's close to being completed

This reminds me of something fabulous. In 11th grade we had a class project in English to do to video skit on the Great Gatsby. We ended up doing a Tarantino style Gatsby project at my HS friend Chris's house. I was Gatsby and some other guy named Brian was Wilson (thankfully we had the action packed last 3 chapters that were fun to film). We had a fat chick playing Myrtle, and we ran her over and threw ketchup blood on her, had her quivering on the ground and dying. I was actually Gatsby and wore a goofy old man's cap, someone's sweater, and was reading "A Boy's Sex Life" for no discernable reason. We amped it up a bit though and instead of Gatsby just getting shot I got hacked in half with a chainsaw (my jeans were soaked in ketchup blood) and had my brains blown out. You can imagine when we presented this in class, it was a great kinetic blast. I wish I had a tape of it now. By the way Raven, check your PM...I sent you one just now.

As far as the church goes, it's really just for a few scenes (there is a speech given by Rev. Biggins, an assassination attempt, etc). If you wanna read the script I can send it to you in an attachment, though the formatting gets screwy. Still readable though. The subway stuff I might just have to change to a bus. We have TARC (Transit Authority of River City) here, and though I haven't been on one in a long time they used to look really shitty and creepy, knife slashed seats and stuff.

    ECW One Night Stand

I have a hunch on that original 800,000 figure. I bet whatever cable insider dude who said that looked at the huge amount of orders from the NE area of the country and projected that for the rest of the country. Thus, ECW would draw huge in PA and NY but not so much out west or in the middle states.

Does anyone know what something like Clerks was shot on? I took a look at that Panasonic and it sounds quite cool. Cheaper than the Canon XL2, but some on amazon said it wasn't quite as good. The main problem with my script is that I have several locations that will be very difficult to do. Some stuff is in a church but given the insane profanity, nudity, and violence in the script I dunno if a minister would be too keen on me filming there. Also there's some stuff in a subway but I live in Louisville where there isn't a subway. Are you telling me I can simply create these things if I have a bluescreen?

    ECW One Night Stand

That chart was really weird, you're telling me that the Backlash listing was actually the ECW listing? I dunno. Has this actually been reported on another website? As in Meltzer, Scherer, etc.

My movie's close to being completed

That's cool, man. I am also thinking of finally filming my script that I have been working on for the past 9 years on and off. Just wondering but what kind of camera did you use? I have thought of getting a Canon XL2 HD type deal, but those are kinda expensive. I do want it to look professional however. Also how exactly do you use the bluescreens and stuff like that?

    War of the Worlds

Yeah I agree. I might go see it at the new Showcase 16 rather than the Dixie Dozen cheapo theater (not like a 2nd run theater but a bleh 1st run one). The smaller theater is fine for stuff like Land of the Dead but for a big movie you gotta go to the fancy theater. Imagine trying to see ROTK or something at a dingy cut rate place, it would suck.

Hey if they didn't want comparisons to the original Dawn of the Dead, call the new one something else. When you call your new movie Dawn of the Dead that kinda invites comparisons.

    King Kong

This trailer looks like King Kong on Jurassic Park to me. Either way there's no way it'll have the same impact the original did in 1933. The original was jaw dropping and revolutionary, while this just looks like another CGI fest. I have a semi related question: Why was Joel McCrea not in the original King Kong? Bruce Cabot was the hero in it, but yet I'd say McCrea was the bigger name and RKO's top line action type hero. He even worked with Fay Wray on The Most Dangerous Game, which was filmed on the same sets as Kong during a production hiatus.

    Bad Games That You Love

I didn't say Streets of Rage was a bad game...I commented that I played it on the Game Gear and noted some of the flaws of that system. It's amusing that everyone is referring to Final Fight as some revolutionary, original game...hell it's derivative as crap in its own right.

The OaO "Land of the Dead" talkback thread

I didn't say the Dawn remake wasn't any good, but there is no way it's on par with the original. While it is a tighly constructed film it lacks the big scale of the original and the social commentary.

    NBA Draft

On the UK front both Randolph Morris and Kelena Azabuike went undrafted. I have no idea what either guy was thinking, my God UK didn't have a single guy on their roster that I thought was even a pro prospect this year. Chris Thomas flat out never lived up to his potential at ND. He was a very up and down sort of player, one day he could go nuts for 30 points but other days he would just vanish. It also didn't help when Matt Carroll graduated, Carroll was a great shooter to dish to and once he was gone Thomas didn't seem so hot.

    NBA Draft

I assume Bracey was the victim of IU being horrible now under Mike Davis. He was really all they had and any defense could shut him down and IU didn't have a whole lot else. Or he'd have to take far too many shots, some of which weren't good ones.

The OaO "Land of the Dead" talkback thread

The Dawn remake is decent in its own right but it is in no way on par with the original. I mean you don't have a biker gang, and those fucking security guards kill the fun. Hell, half the fun of the original is people being alone with zombies in a mall and stealing everything in sight. It adds to the utopian aspect of the film. Mall = Utopia. Outside world = Zombie Hell. That's what pissed me off in the Dawn remake. The original made me think "Gee I wish I could go to an empty mall and take whatever I wanted." The remake had guards pointing guns at everyone to make sure no one stole anything...I mean what the fuck? I think it was in Maltin's book where he said Romero could twist your view of the zombies at the drop of a hat. They are terrifying, then inept, clownish, forgotten, and even sympathetic. In the Dawn remake they're just.....zombies.

Ok who else went to the Warped Tour?

Billy Idol on a show with Offspring and a bunch of emo goth jobbers. I have to admit it sounds curious. I can see why the punk bands would trash the emo bands...who thought combining those two scenes was a good concept? Punk is supposed to be fast, catchy, and angry...emo is mid tempo, whiny, and not really hook driven.

One and Only "ECW: One Night Stand" Thread

I dunno, why would I want to buy something that is actually worse than what I already have? In my opinion it's always best to have the original PPV taping, rather than the tinkered factory release. Didn't they edit the Rock being booed vs. Hogan at WM 18 and all that for the DVD? Stuff like that seriously impacts the show, and it goes the same for editing the Sandman's music.
