Well, my friend Chris called today and told me some dude he knows got a couple of tix...at Stonybrook. I figured as much. He also said that he was probably going to see it AGAIN on Thursday, maybe I'll go then. At the latest I'll go see it this weekend at the actual good theater, the Showcase Deluxe 16.

I don't have a problem with Matt being hurt and pissed. Frankly I'd be more pissed at losing my 6 figure job than losing the skank....hey, something like this was bound to happen with Lita sooner or later. I do have a problem with his constant public whining about it though. I mean a real life tragedy? I'd say Chris Candido getting hurt on a PPV and having a surgery than killed him is a tragedy. Matt Hardy being dumped by his skank girlfriend is not. I'm almost seeing the WWE point of view on this now. Seriously, Matt should have just kept his mouth shut on this, and then maybe some day in the future stiff the shit out of Edge in a match or something. Rant in private to your brother or friends, whatever...just time to cease the web ranting, since it's only getting more embarrassing.

Anyone remember the cool glasses that Burger King had for ROTJ? I had a few of them but broke a couple of the years. I think I still had a Tattooine one, occasionally will have a coke in it. Alro, if you wanna see ROTS at midnight in Louisville, I'd suggest seeing it at the new Showcase 16. They'll probably have a lot of screens and use their main theaters for it. The old Cinemas had the big ass 4 and 5 theaters with huge screens and auditoriums so you could really take in the movie. Something like this can't be seen in a smallish place like Baxter Ave. or a downright shit theater like Stonybrook. What sucks is that my friend Chris might wanna see it and he lives right next to Stonybrook.

I think this angle could seriously kill Jericho's career. Who would invest any time caring about a guy who flat out declares that he doesn't care about winning his matches? It's not like Jericho has much of a career left at this point.

The Lita/Edge stuff is problematic because the natural thought is to do what they did tonight but the thing is no one wants to see Kane get the revenge, which is what basically has to happen storywise. Thing is, Matt is who was wronged in real life, so it sets up a "Kane getting revenge by proxy" storyline that won't jibe. Also I think them acknowledging Edge/Lita makes fans wonder if it was just an angle and that was half the fun of fucking with Edge and Lita if you're at the arena, the taboo nature of it being outside the storyline. And hey, if HHH does come back and squashes Edge, I can't say I'd weep over it. Edge might be one guy who fully deserves the HHH treatment.

This is where the old Showcase Cinemas closing down really sucks. I went to see ROTK at the Showcase at the midnight showing, though we made the foolish idea to sit in the 3rd row of a huge ass theater and that movie is enough to clear your sinuses. I got home with a pounding headache at about 4am. Point is that it was a wild experience aside from that, what with people dressed up like Frodo and what not. And that is with LOTR. Imagine that place for a Star Wars movie. If I see a midnight showing it'd probably be at somewhere like Stonybrook and that place blows. I think this film will make more than AOTC by far, over 100 million more. It didn't seem like AOTC had a lot of hype surrounding it really, just "Hey, here's the 2nd in this uninspired prequel trilogy." I saw it the first weekend but I can't say I rushed out to see it. I think AOTC is vastly better than Phantom Menace, which is by far the worst film in the series. Not close. Phantom Menace is really embarrassing in some ways, namely Jar Jar, but also the Trade Federation guys are blatant Japanese stereotypes (why this isn't hated on more I don't know), the slave owning fly dude seems like a cheesy Mexican stereotype, there are fart jokes (in a Star Wars movie???), and Qui Gon is certainly the worst Jedi character in the series. AOTC at least has a really killer last 40m or so and a good heel in Christopher Lee.

I don't think people understand the full awesomeness of Wade. I mean this guy led fucking MARQUETTE to a Final 4. Has anyone but me watched Marquette since Wade left? They're garbage. I know Melo won that title with Cuse in 03, but he had some other guys around him. Marquette was a flat out bad team minus Wade. Wade > Melo

I did watch a little bit of the Cartoon Network marathon of the Clone Wars, and really I didn't care either way about it. I wasn't going to spend such a crazy amount of time on a bunch of cartoons, especially when the films themselves should cover the important stuff. The Animatrix might be great but since the Matrix sequels sucked the fat one I am really not inclined to check it out. As I said, don't spend so much time making cartoons and all that extra crap so great...make the actual movies great.

People forget that the Heat were a 4 seed last year so I think Shaq helped them a bit but with an improved Wade they'd probably at least be a top 3 type seed this year. The Wizards were the 2nd best team in that division and the Heat beat them twice IN WASHINGTON without Shaq. As far as the Pistons go, it doesn't shock me to see them struggle. They can't SCORE. The Spurs have this problem too but it happens to them maybe once a series rather than a constant problem. The Pistons are basically transition champions.

I'd actually dig something like that but some might find it a bit too cheesy. There is a limit to my geekness. I am not about to sit around watching a bunch of Star Wars cartoons. It is way too similar to dorks sitting around with this Animatrix crap to fill in the gaps between films. Here's an idea: If it's really important, put it in the fucking movie. Sigh. I have a feeling I'm going to get a call from someone in the next couple days wanting me to see it at midnight. And like a madman I'll probably do it, even though I'll have a ton of work to do on Thurs.

God no, my friend Ian has told me all sorts of stuff about the post ROTJ books. It sounded REALLY horrible, stuff like: Luke does a heel turn and joins the Emperor, who amazingly survived his fall in Jedi. I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to see something like that. As far as Chosen Ones go, I have a hard time believing that a guy who turned on his friends and had them all murdered could be considered the Chosen One. It's funny really, it seems like Vader is somehow redeemed for stopping the Emperor finally, yet he oversaw the deaths of all the Jedi (Obi Wan aside), aided in blowing up an entire planet, killed his own men, etc. Would him helping Luke out really excuse all THAT shit?

Oh God, I was having bad memories of Konnan's video. I swear WCW showed that damn thing EVERY week on Thunder back in the day, and it wasn't when WCW was dying either (this was like 1998 or so). I got to the point where I'd just turn the channel the moment it came on, and I am now doing the same with Cena. I liked it the first time, but I KNEW they would keep playing the fucking thing and I refuse to watch it constantly.

Considering Kurt's wife's former employment maybe he was telling the truth about his vices. I never found Shane/Kane a "so bad it's good" feud. I think that is mainly because the feud never should have happened. They basically sacrificed RVD to Kane to build him up and then Shane got all this offense in on Kane.

Am I the only one who kinda likes this Angle/Booker feud? It's just so over the top and trashy that I am amused by the whole thing. I do agree that Booker needed to be more pissed off and just should have gone after Angle and tried to beat his ass.

What's with the Griffey mention? I'd say the dude is easily a superstar. Tayshaun is on his way there. I know he's retired but how about Dan Majerle. He was always on that pseudo star level. Also liked Mark Grace, he's on that same almost superstar level.

Hey I agree with Maria...The Edge is a lot cooler sounding than merely Edge. Edge sounds like shaving gel. The Edge sounds much cooler, although already a rock star.

If there is one thing that SMDN is doing that Raw is not, it would be that they are crafting characters to either get behind or hate. I mean let's face it, who didn't detest Angle for his actions last night? Or Eddie for his psychotic heel actions? Conversely it makes it easy to root on Booker and Rey to come back and beat their asses. Hell, attempted rape angles, partners beating the shit out of each other....all are normal to anyone who followed Memphis wrestling, haha.

I suppose Phantom Menace has useful stuff going on in it, in terms of Qui Gon finding Anakin and the initial lurking of the Sith and all that. But the movie is easily the weakest of the entire series. AOTC is a film that is admittedly full of smoke and mirrors in terms of what is really going on. I'm STILL not quite sure really...something to do with Dooku leading a separtist movement with the Trade Federation assclowns, while also creating an army of clones to destroy said separtists....is that anywhere near accurate? The film does have quite a bit of good stuff though, and I am possibly the only one on earth who kinda likes the Anakin/Padme part.

Incidentally, why the hate towards classic Flynn swashbucklers? As far as the Kenobi/Vader fight in Star Wars, well it's really not a contest at that point since Obi Wan was old and Vader was clearly better.

I'm sorry he is dead (if it's actually true) but I have never shared this huge love for 2000 that everyone else here seems to have. In 2000 we had: 1. The beginning of HHH's push from hell that lasts to this very day, which included him retaining at WM (a move which pissed me off to the point where I nearly stopped watching Raw). In fact that whole WM main event was screwed up from the get go...what should have been Rock vs. HHH with Rocky winning ended up a convoluted 4 way. 2. The entire HHH/Angle angle was totally botched. Sure it was built up well but the whole payoff was the drizzling shits. When Kreski was booking it was the matches and wrestlers that were selling PPVs. His storylines and payoffs were lacking.

I've really only heard the single Mars Volta have had on the radio and it is pretty cool. I tried to download some of this stuff but it's sorta tough when one song is like 30 mins and broken into 5 different sections. All of these titles are really, really weird too...I have no idea how they could even try to release most of it in a single form.

I can't stand that shitty bassist from Korn, Fieldy. Nothing personal really but the guy is so hideous and out of tune that it kills virtually all of their songs.

I took a look at the recent Mars Volta album and its tracks and LB aren't remotely as bizarre as that. I mean hell I don't even know what in the hell those titles even meant on Mars Volta. Note the only song they released as a single (The Widow) is the only one with a normal title. Ironically The Widow sounds like a title off this Bizkit album. As far as Mars Volta as a band, that single is pretty cool I think. It doesn't seem much like At the Drive In (Bixler and Rodriguez' previous band) aside from knowing it's the same singer.

Adrien Brody has sucked in pretty much everything I've ever seen him in, though I didn't see his oscar performance in The Pianist. No way in hell do I want that ugly fuck stinking up a Batman movie. I'd like to see Mark Hamill too but it won't happen. He's too firmly viewed as Luke to be seen onscreen as the Joker, though I think his vocal performance as Mr. J on the cartoon is the definitive version of the character. That said, they have to be careful here since Nicholson is so firmly etched in people's minds as the big screen Joker that whoever it is needs to be REALLY good. I will second the Tim Roth notion, it would team him in a movie with Oldman again.
