    Angle vs. Cena

Angle has always been more effective as a goofy dork than when he's trying to act like a badass. A waste of time feud isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's sorta like Bret Hart taking on the Patriot in between his more notable feuds with Austin, UT, and Shawn. Produced some decent matches, drew some heat, and so on. That said, they have to get over this bizarre hard on they have for Brock/Angle. I mean, why would this main event TWO WMs in a row? Are they nuts? Let's see, did their first match at WM draw any money? Not really. Did the 3 way with Show? Not likely. The SS rematch? Jury is out. Making it even more asinine is that they've already done an Iron Man match, so what exactly can they even do at WM? SMDN has even bigger problems than Raw in terms of elevating talent. I mean, at least Raw has tried putting people in main events (they've all jobbed out to HHH of course). Over the past year or so we've seen RVD, Kane, Shawn, Steiner, Booker, Nash, Jericho, and Goldberg all hovering around the main event. What's SMDN had? Brock, Kurt, and the Big Show? Maybe the occasional UT push? They desperately need to push someone else. I'd push Eddie or Cena, maybe both, to the main event.

    Angle vs. Cena

First off, why is a waste of time feud such a bad thing? Not every feud has to boost everyone in it to new heights. I figure Cena and Angle will just trade wins for a while, do some mic work, it'll all be ok. It's but a small feud in the grand scheme of things.

    HHH's vendetta against RVD

Let me say this for the last time: RVD's mic skills are not poor. Anyone who has seen ECW would know that. WWE has no clue as to what his whole schtick is. RVD has mentioned this in those ranting interviews he's been doing. I actually think RVD could be insanely over and draw money if they'd let him do violent hardcore matches with a technical side to them (basically what he did in his first 6 months in the WWF). The biggest problem RVD has is that it is VERY noticeable when he is just fucking off. On this last PPV he looked like he didn't give two shits about what was happening. On Raw he had a much better albeit shorter match with Christian where he did looked motivated.

    1wrestling.com has Spoliers up

Ok Eddie wrestles twice this week on SMDN defending the US and tag belts. I haven't seen this amount of awesomeness since RVD defended the ECW TV and tag belts on the same show. Of course, on that show Sabu was hurt and missed most of the tag match and RVD had to fight the Dudleys by himself. At least Eddie had Chavo to help. Eddie vs. the Big Show? Dear God. Why do I sense them jobbing Eddie out here and killing his heat? Sounds like a good show for Thursday....the PPV so far sounds crappy.

Garrison Cade, Mark Jindrak & Maven

Well, Cena just came up with a gold gimmick, that is why he got over. And he also is also around the awesomeness of Eddie and people like that. Haas and Benjamin got a gold initial gimmick and angle as Team Angle. With the Raw rookies they are just essentially dudes thrown on TV. Garrison Cade to me is "the guy who fought Lance Storm when the boring schtick started." Jindrak is "the guy who used to be on WCW for a while." Maven is "the guy who won Tough Enough." Of the 3 Maven is the only one with any sort of decent gimmick and backstory, but Tough Enough will only carry you so far. It would help if Raw could figure out who they want on the show regularly. I mean, they are using A Train booking with half the damn roster (shows up and wins a few, gets pushed, then jobs and vanishes for months). This isn't limited to just the rookies like Cade, Jindrak, and Maven either. Even guys like Test, Steiner, and the Hurricane just sorta show up with no rhyme or reason. They might do a backstage skit but not wrestle. Example: just last night I figured the whole Test/Steiner/Stacy angle would be featured. At least some sort of running backstage stuff and a match of some sort. Instead there is one skit of Steiner carrying the bags...what the hell? They take a situation like humiliating Steiner and can't think of ANYTHING amusing? I see it all the time on Raw. Segments devoted to guys who aren't even wrestling on the show that night. Stuff like the Rosey SHIT stuff. Rosey does a comedy skit, doesn't wrestle...what is the point? Anyway, if they want Orton to lead a new group of rookie jobbers, fine. But for god's sake don't push them to the main event yet, hardly any of them are ready for even the IC level.

    Weekend Box Office Estimates

Yeah I will hopefully see the Rundown as well. I'm actually kinda shocked at the highly positive reviews I've read so far.

    Another RVD Radio Interview

Here's the thing. RVD might work a totally different style in the NWA. Jerry Lynn doesn't wrestle the same way he used to in ECW, I dare say his NWA stuff has been better. Heyman used to actually ENCOURAGE RVD to go out there and point at himself and all that. Let's face it, without the WWE match style restrictions and some common sense (i.e. not letting RVD take 10 mins to get to the ring or pose during the match) he would be on fire. You know what's sad? RVD was sloppy and sluggish last night but his match was probably the best match on the PPV.

    Anger Management

Actually Mr. Deeds is a Frank Capra movie with Gary Cooper. You know, an actual classic. I like Sandler pretty well but he shouldn't ever attempt this sort of stuff. The Wedding Singer is Sandler's best movie (to me anyway). It's pretty much the only movie where he seems like something that resembles a human being, instead of a goofball retard or irresponsible jerk.
  9. I'm not sure why people give Pretty Fly For a White Guy such a hard time. It's basically in the same catchy Come Out and Play type gimmick song, albeit with a sillier subject matter. If Americana has a problem it's that it took Smash's elements of success and reduced it to a formula: the gimmick song, the "my girlfriend is a bitch" song, the latin or ska song, and a few regular Offspring rockers for the die hard fans. I like most of Beck's stuff pretty well but his last album was way too dreary and depressing for my taste. When I get a Beck CD, I wanna laugh my ass off.

    Favourite bands and songs

I gotta also say TATU. That damn All the Thing She Said song gets in your head and stays there. The rest of that CD sucks for the most part though. Incidentally why would anyone say Come Out and Play is a song that sucks? One of the best rocks songs of the 90s.

    Another RVD Radio Interview

RVD has something that guys like Daniels and Lo Ki don't have: an ability to get over. That's the main problem with the NWA's X division. It's guys who can certainly do spots more bizarre than RVD, but they lack the charisma to get over. Drawing money is a relative term. RVD hasn't ever drawn much in the technical definition of ratings or buyrates. But to anyone who watched ECW circa 1998-99 you would know RVD was basically the guy who held the promotion together. It's hard to draw much money when your promotion is almost going under. Ask Flair. Now, some might say RVD couldn't draw for the NWA. Define draw. If RVD could have a good title run and perhaps get them in position to get a national TV deal, that is great. Obviously the NWA isn't going to start drawing 10,000 a night. WWE isn't even doing that now. I doubt adding RVD to the roster would triple buyrates, but I'd imagine more people would watch the NWA if he was on it.

    How to stop the bleeding

I'm one of the few who never thought the Angle/Edge feud did anything for either guy. It made Kurt look like a complete jackass when he got shaved bald. And Edge didn't really advance any higher on the card. I'd say the Edge/Eddie feud would have proved better for Edge if he hadn't gotten hurt shortly after it. That feud did wonders for Eddie, hell he was getting standing ovations.

    Another RVD Radio Interview

One thing that is an odd criticism of an RVD match is that they are crazy spotfests. What is so wrong with this? A wild spotfest can be a great match too if guys hit their spots. You want to know about RVD in ECW, and why he never got the title? It boils down to this: Heyman wanted to save it for when he could get on a better network than TNN and truly draw money with an RVD title run. Hell, the only promotion at this point that could draw money with RVD is the NWA. Between Heyman's inept business decisions and WWF backstage politics RVD hasn't ever won a world title. Unless Jerry Jarrett is a fool, he'd likely take advantage of this.

    Smackdown Rating Drops

I too am sick of the Brock/Angle feud and am in amazement that they would consider having that main TWO WMs in a row. My god, that's what you do with ultra money drawing matches like Rock/Austin or Hogan/Andre. You don't main event two WMs with a feud that really isn't all that over. Could it also be that the average fan doesn't like to see a match that lasts 60 minutes? I'm a big fan but even I get a little tired of the same two guys fighting for half the show.

    22 Greatest Bands

Well, let's face it. Tool hasn't ever really been a huge MTV band. Their videos are too bizarre to get huge play, heh. Why are the Offspring not on this list and yet Green Day is?

Lita's Autobiography released as an audio tape.

You know what is funny about the whole Lita lisp thing? Remember during the Invasion when she ran down Kanyon as he hit on her? "It's true, you really do have a speech impediment." That line made me hate Lita big time. The irony of course is that she later said the immortal line "Don't do it Jeff, it's not woth the rith." I think that says it all.

Once upon a time in Mexico!

Rodriguez does a lot of that wild violence that is somehow amusing. Like that scene mentioned when Depp is blinded. He pulls out his guns, it's quite dramatic, then proceeds to fire away.......and miss everyone by a mile! It's plausible yet somehow hilarious.

Once upon a time in Mexico!

Desperado is a more serious movie than OUATIM?? My god, Desperado is one of the funniest actioners I've ever seen.....or am I the only one who gets the humor? Stuff like the janitor hurriedly cleaning the floor with bloody water, and Bucho ranting about killing anyone they don't know is just classic. Depp added most of the humor to this film, but overall it was pretty serious. And yes, the action is wild and over the top, but that's Rodriguez's style.

Once upon a time in Mexico!

Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I think Depp was in Mexico because the CIA had gotten wind of the whole Barillo/Marquez alliance to take out El Presidente. From there Depp hired El Mariachi and did a bunch of crazy shit. I THINK he was supposed to be a good guy, though him killing the cook and having the bullfighter shot "to even the odds" were hilariously bizarre. Yes, the movie did seem like it could have used another 20 mins or so to explain more. Give Dafoe some chances to overact dammit! I'm not sure if Cheech was technically the same character from Desperado. He was an informer in OUATIM, whereas he was a bartender in Desperado. I guess the one eye here could be his head wound from the other film though?

Once upon a time in Mexico!

It was a pretty cool movie, but I'd have to rank it behind Desperado for 3 reasons: 1. Salma Hayek did nothing in this movie, basically a flashback cameo. She had much more to do in Desperado and was naked to boot. 2. Desperado had a better heel in Bucho than either Marquez or Barillo in OUATIM. Dafoe was wasted. 3. Desperado had a much clearer story. In OUATIM there were so many people and so many double crosses and heel turns it was hard to follow. Depp was great in this movie though. I can certainly see a solo vehicle for him as the blind gunslinger.

    Chavo heel turn

Ever since Chavo made his return on SMDN to help Uncle Eddie the rumors have already started: When will Chavo inevitably turn heel? I don't really understand why this needs to happen. At this point a feud with Chavo would do nothing for Eddie's career aside from keeping him mired in the midcard (perhaps that IS the reason...). Further, if everyone is already wondering how long it will be before Chavo turns, wouldn't Eddie be prepared for it? Over the past few months Eddie has been the smartest and sneakiest man on the roster. If Chavo turns on him and Eddie is made to look like a fool, doesn't this hurt months of booking that made Eddie look like a wrestling genius?
  22. cabbageboy

    Chavo heel turn

I guess my point is this: Yes, the initial feud in 1998 was fun, but to me Eddie and Chavo have been even better together. I wouldn't do something like turn Chavo in a world title match...just have him turn and cost Eddie the US title against Cena. The reason I'm against Chavo turning in a world title match is that quite honestly I don't trust them to keep Eddie in the title mix after that. The Chavo turn would be an excuse to shuffle Eddie back to the midcard.

LOTR: TTT Extended Ed. DVD Details...

Well, I'm not saying Sauron needs to be featured throughout the movie. He doesn't need to fight people or anything like that. But he does need to be there. I'm just talking about maybe 5 minutes of screen time. When someone talks about Sauron's physical form, just do a quick cut to his tower and show him for a few seconds, show the 4 fingers, that sort of thing. Then near the end in the final battle have him present so we can all see him vaporize/explode when the ring is destroyed.

    Killer Klowns from Outer Space

I hardly think Killer Klowns was meant to be taken seriously as a horror film, though it might spook some people who are afraid of evil clowns. I don't have the DVD of it, but I do have an old factory tape. Really cool movie, great design as well for a low budget production.

LOTR: TTT Extended Ed. DVD Details...

Ah ha. Well if Sauron actually is in a human form in the book then it stands to reason he's going to have to be in a few scenes of the movie. Especially since characters talk about him being around....if Sauron isn't shown the viewer will think "WTF??" The intriguing aspect is this: Would Sauron be the ultra bad ass in armor like we saw in FOTR's prologue? Or would he be a scrawny little guy? He would have just achieved human form and might not be all that strong yet. No ring either. You know Peter Jackson is frustrated as hell over stuff like this.
