It's actually $15,000. Sorry to get off track, but does anyone know what the going rate generally is for shoots? (RF, etc.?) I always wondered if it was a one time payoff or if they get a cut of the sales (unlikely). Flair is charging $15,000 for autograph signings and personal appearances, a figure well below that of Hulk Hogan, who charges $75,000, Bill Goldberg, who charges $30,000, and Steve Austin, who charges $20,000. To the best of my knowledge, Dwayne Johnson doesn’t even do sessions of that type. He’s also in he market for a shoot tape interview set, with the bidding price reaching $50,000. From what we’re told, it would be a huge figure to put down, but in that genre, a Flair tape would be expected to take in more than that, as a recent tape with Kevin Nash & Scott Hall grossed $50,000. Last week's Observer is the source...

Wasn't Big Show promised a run with the title his first year in WWE? That was part of his contract, no?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eeYizCI1O4 Since this was posted, I have to ask. All the flexing in the end. A shot at Hogan? And reading between the lines, some at Bret? He takes a clear shot at Razor and Hogan. This is just before the nWo angle and it looks like Michaels is legit going on the camera and telling everyone he is "the man" in the business. Michaels was still trying to prove himself as champion, and this awesome brawl was one of the matches that helped Shawn get over. The finish is pretty hot too. Lot's of heat on Diesel for blocking the superkick and turning it into a lariat, as well as the Mad Dog Vachon bit...

Diesel had two high profile PPV losses to Undertaker and Shawn Michaels and I don't remember him being that buried.

Sounds like they are getting ready for Raven's lawsuit.

Unforgiven 2001 with Angle finally beating Austin in his hometown and all the Angles celebrating the win. Canadian Stampede 1997 with the Hart family celebrating in Calgary. Shawn Michaels after beating Diesel at the In Your House after WrestleMania 12. He's chalk full of legit emotion after the win. Probably one of the best celebration/endings of all time.

This is funny from the same report "A fan behind the commnetary table had a sign that was outdated; he wanted Ahmed Johnson to leave wrestling, I think, 'cause the sign said "RESIGN AHMED JOHNSON." I know, I know. Kane sat there with headphones on, even though he didn't say anything. You know a match is sad when the best worker in the ring is Ron Simmons."

No, that's been debunked several times over. Herb Kunze "Mankind hit the DDT for the pin at 16:22. HHH chaired Austin's leg to give Austin a vacation. Chyna held off the referee. Jesse & Mankind were long gone. It's no secret that they wanted Jesse to come out of this match as a babyface. That would happen if he raised a babyface's hand or if he decked a heel. That meant that if HHH won, he'd have to take a bump right afterward for Jesse, which would spoil his moment, I guess. It has also been widely reported that Austin refused to lie down for HHH and that the bookers didn't want Austin to lose the title without losing. In any case, any idiot could figure that HHH would win the title the next night on RAW because Mankind can't work any sort of schedule yet" http://rspw.org/tidbits/tidbits.990826

"We got one report that Kronic refused to job to Goldberg on Nitro. When you look at how the show was set up, with Kronic attacking Goldberg after his first match, it sure seems like they were being set up to do a job for him later. Then, for no apparent reason, Goldberg beat up the Harris Twins. If they did refuse to job, for Goldberg of all people, I see absolutely zero reason why they shouldn’t be fired immediately." From Brian Alvarez, F4W, Oct 9 2000 Steve Austin was supposed to job to Scott Hall at WrestleMania X-8 to lead to the brand extension and that didn't happen. Bret Hart refused to job to Austin at a house show in Toronto before Survivor Series 1997, so Jim Neidhart had to take the fall.

Steiners versus Outsiders at 1997 Road Wild. All the booking made it seem like the Steiners would finally go over, but Nash complained the frequent title changes were hurting the drawing power of the belt. Keep in mind Hogan won the title back from Luger at this same PPV where Luger won the title from Hogan six days before.

I was in the middle of writing a long post, and my computer crashed. So I will post briefly and then explain it later, as I don't have the time/energy to repost everything I just did. Jean Pierre Lafitte refused to job to WWF Champion Diesel in 1995 at a house show in Quebec. This actually caused a big stink back in the day and showed the true power of the Clique. Ahmed Johnson was fired in early 1998 for refusing to put over Kurragan (sp?) at a Raw. Vince McMahon wasn't going to put over Ric Flair at the 2002 Royal Rumble, but it could have been a swerve. Hogan didn't want to job to Michaels because he was thinking Austin/Hogan was still going to happen at Mania 22. Austin apparently didn't want to job the title to Kane at KOTR, so that's why the first blood stip was put in. I had more, but I will fill these in later.

Metal Gear Solid 4 to feature much older Snake...
Naked Snake replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in Video Games
Back after the cliffhanger ending of Sons of Liberty, I wondered why Kojima went back to the past for Snake Eater. I thought it was pretty stupid at the time. But after playing part 4, there's a lot of info in part 3 that you need to know to understand part 4. -
Although I was a huge fan of Austin back in the day, he is every bit of a politician Hogan was. Austin has refused to job countless times or work with certain people. And his unprofessional walkouts as well. He hasn't really made anyone a star or put them over clean. Whenever he is on TV he is pretty much useless.

Bret at WrestleMania X Angle after Unforgiven 2001 Austin at WrestleMania 14 And my fave, D-Lo Brown winning the European title from HHH. It was so out of nowhere and funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqA-VzrMZ6Y

World Champions biggest attendance drawn...
Naked Snake replied to BruteSquad_BRODY's topic in General Wrestling
The recent WWE champions drawn shouldn't really count as the WrestleMania events were sold out way before the card was even booked (let alone announced). It is correct to say the WWE champions WORKED in front of these crowds, but they did not draw the crowds. -
Tuesday's "Blockbuster Announcement"

When was the last time Undertaker cut a promo? It's been years, no? -
I think "Pimpin' Ain't Easy" from the Godfather was an accident as well. I found the clip of it actually... It's 2:30 in... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fauBGI43ZXk...feature=related

Uh, New World Order? Watch Hogan's heel turn promo, he calls it New World Order and New World Organization. The nWo part caught on.

Let's Talk About...Vince Russo's first stint booking WCW

I liked how he would start building the next PPV on the Nitro after the previous PPV. Look at the Judgment Day buildup, absolutely horrible, with big matches being announced 2 weeks before the PPV. -
http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3167518 EGM Heads to the Splatterhouse Retro revival blowout in the June issue. By Philip Kollar, 04/22/2008 Splatterhouse is arguably the first survival horror game ever. Sure, it was a bit heavy on the horror and light on the survival, but it's hard to come up with an earlier example of a game with as much bloodshed and terror as this arcade beat-em-up. Purveyors of violence and filth that we videogame folk are, we couldn't be more excited to present the exclusive reveal of Namco Bandai's next-gen resurrection of the Splatterhouse franchise in the upcoming June issue of EGM. But that's not even all! In addition our world exclusive first look at Splatterhouse, we've got updates on Bionic Commando, Street Fighter IV, Tecmo Bowl, Golden Axe: Beast Rider, Sonic Unleashed, Alone in the Dark, Alien Crush, Space Invaders Extreme, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (including the first look at a popular red-haired baddie). Heck, we have even more than that. Retro is the flavor of the season, and EGM has all the scoops you need to get full

What were your 1-year-before Wrestlemania predictions?
Naked Snake replied to Damien's topic in General Wrestling
Thought WrestleMania 14 would be Bret versus Shawn II Thought WrestleMania 16 would be Austin versus Big Show -
This past Friday's SmackDown! showed that the Michaels character at least, doesn't care about titles. They did the old Raw angle before WrestleMania 13 where Hart and Sid were fighting for the title with Austin and Undertaker trying to interfere to make sure their WrestleMania 13 match was a title match. Only on this SmackDown! in 2008, Batista and Undertaker were fighting and Michaels cost Batista the title, instead of trying to make him win it so Batista/Michaels could be a title match.

A discussion about the inflated audience during the Monday Night Wars
Naked Snake replied to Boxer's topic in General Wrestling
It's kinda like music and movies too where a film will draw really well for it's first few movies, but later sequels draw less and less audiences. Same with music. Michael Jackson wishes he drew what he did 20 years ago.
