If Bret Hart wasn't injured in 1997,.....

Michaels superkicking Bret (and then Bret selling it like he got shot and falling back into his wheelchair) was one of the best Raw moments in 1997.

    Curt Hennig vs Randy Savage..

I think a great worker is someone that can adapt to a match on the fly, not someone that flies his opponent to his home in Sarasota, Florida to rehearse for WrestleMania III or WrestleMania VIII. Granted, those matches were great, but when I see Ricky Steamboat on Byte This knocking his own classic match because he was driven crazy by Randy Savage preparing for the match it kinda loses it's luster.

    Curt Hennig vs Randy Savage..

The thing you guys are overlooking with Savage is the fact that he pre-planned all of his matches in great detail. Look at Mania III, V, VII, VIII for example. Good matches, but they were all practiced and planned months before the matches took place. Flair and Steamboat don't even consider their WrestleMania matches with Savage that great because the matches were planned in advance. To me, a match is better when it is done on the fly.

I found an awesome Shawn Michaels D-Generation X video, but the music is beyond gay. Whoever made this video is a genius and a moron. Just mute it and watch the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZyQInUb4R0

    Gaming Memories

I'll add more later Seeing the Castlevania III print ad in Amazing Spider-Man comics drove me to become a huge fan of the series. The game was monstrous, and with 4 possible endings, it was something to behold at the time. Playing Super Mario Bros 3 after seeing clips of the game in the movie with Fred Savage, "The Wizard". Mortal Kombat hit me hard. Reading about Mortal Kombat II in Gamepro for months, and finally playing the damn game. Reading about previews for Resident Evil 1, 2, and awaiting those games. Gamepro's hype job for Metal Gear Solid and having the game exceed the hype is probably one of my fondest memories.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

I checked on www.thehistoryofthewwe.com and Taker only lost by DQs or countouts in 1992 and most of 93. Yokozuna beat him in a casket match in October of 1993.

    WWF/E Tidbits from the past

Vince was acquitted in '94, but that KOTR was in '95. I guess he was still feeling the effects of that. Anyway, I was reading a Wikipedia article on the Undertaker and I came across this statement, "Between December 1991 and September 1993, the Undertaker did not lose a single match." Is that true?
  12. Angle/Michaels at WrestleMania. Angle had Michaels in the anklelock on one ankle and then for the finish he put the ankle lock on the other ankle. I think it would have been more gutsier if Angle had Michaels in the original damaged ankle and Shawn was trying not to tap and finally did... Still a great match though.

    Exposing the Biz

Macho Man's flying axehandle exposed the business to me 15 or so years ago. I remember watching him do it an realizing it doesn't hurt because he opens his hands just before impact. And the pee pee dance by heels...ie nWo versus Sting is horrible as well.

    Most nonsensical debuts

One of the biggest ones would have to be the WWF version of WCW debuting in Tacoma, Washington, instead of holding it off for a week and doing it in Atlanta.

WCW produced some awesome vignettes for the nWo angle. Watching them almost ten years later, and they still look ahead of it's time.

    Best Promo ever

As good as the Heyman promo was, it didn't draw any money. Good promo tho.

Hogan at the Bash at the Beach. A money drawing promo, a monumental heel turn, and a great explanation for the motives of the new character.

IC Champ Owen Hart vs European Champ Shawn Michaels on Raw in October of '97 was a pretty good match.

    Better Angle: NWO or Austin/McMahan

This is a good question, and it's a really hard answer. First of all, it's a shame that this really didn't go head to head. Austin and McMahon were teasing a feud from late 1997 and it finally bloomed in April of 1998. By that time, the nWo was falling apart as the Wolfpac was formed and the two nWo factions were feuding with each other. You would think that the nWo rift (nWo has it's first major "loss" [starrcade 1997] and the guys can't deal with the loss so they feud] would be even more appealing than the nWo/Wcw feud, but look what happened when Austin won the title. The Austin/McMahon feud had better ratings than the nWo feud, but keep in mind when Austin/McMahon feuded, the number of people watching wrestling had grown since 1996 (mostly because of the nWo). When the nWo reformed in early 1999 (head to head with Mick Foley's title win), that really began the downfall of WCW. Within six months of that angle, the buyrates and ratings tanked, to the point was losing millions in a month come June. I still from time to time watch skits of old nWo angles, but not so much of Austin/McMahon. Both feuds were really well done, but the hostile takeover angle barely eeks out the everyman vs boss angle for me.
