Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Steve J. Rogers replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
Couple of my co-workers brought their young kids to work yesterday, and looking at them I just got more sicker and angrier at this situation. Hell even thinking about my 15 month year old nephew makes me even more angrier at the late Chris ()$*$#&(#$*^$()()&*(#&$#^ Benoit and if there is a hell, well there is a special place for Benoit. I'm not trying to be funny here, but to paraphrase Tony Schivone, "Chris Benoit, you can go to hell, straight to hell." -

BTW, what happened was, Spicoli when he died was part of Scott Hall's feud with Zbysko and Larry essentially decided to stay in camera and say "Out of respect to his family, I shall remain silent." Come on, unless he really was a punk to Larry the least he could have said was "Well I didn't know him that well, but I will offer my condolences..." -

Probably just a black screen with their image, name and birth date-death date Kind of like Louie Spicolli on WCW, well without Larry Legend's untactful "tribute" -

Yeah, i also wonder what Kevin Sullivan is thinking and feeling as well. Alot of people tried to paint Benoit as a saint, but he did plenty of stuff that contradicted that, like the fact that he stole his boss's wife for one...........the fact that the dude was on roids for so long..........The fact that he threatened Nancy before (even though most of us didn't know about the stuff from 2003). Like RedJEd, I always thought it was real foul what he did in WCW with Sullivan and Nancy and basically turning a storyline into real life. It always amazed me how the general consensus when Benoit and others left WCW when Sullivan took over as booker was "bravo!" when Sullivan, even though this guy fucking stole his wife from him, even, to show no ill will, gave him the title the first night he took over as booker. But yet Sullivan seemed to be the bad guy in that whole deal, and Benoit even got others to jump ship with him from a situation rooted in personal emotion regarding Nancy more than anything. Sure, WCW fucked the guy over, as well as guys like Saturn, Deano, etc, etc, but I honestly dont think Benoit would have bailed like that if it wasnt for that whole love triangle BS. Thats a pretty unstable and unprofessional move to make, especially when the movement was made to caudle to him when Sullivan took over the book, even though Chris really pulled a dick move. Ah but don't ever forget, Benoit was an IWC God and Icon, Kevin Sullivan was always a JTTS type, shoddy worker and brought upon the audience various Wrestlecrap gimmicks (and not just the DoD, the guy was "The Wizard" to Kevin Nash's Oz) BTW, and this should go in the Old School thread I know, but was Brian Pillman supposedly going to be the Horseman who was to "woo" Woman from him? They had that feud going, but then Pillman "shoots" with "I respect you, booker-man" and next thing you know he's "shooting" about SMMMMMAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTT MMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSS in ECW before joining the WWF so the angle fell on Benoit? -

What is "WC" and "CMI"? And are these really credible websites? WC = WrestlingClassics CMI = Crimson Mask I, an Administrator And yes, I feel that he's very credible. Here is an exact quote from quote from the DA Scott Ballard: "A chokehold was used to strangle the boy rather than hands, because there’s no bruising consistent with a strangling by hands." While pressure is cut off in the Crossface, wouldn't death be caused by a snapped or fractured neck, not suffocation? -

Thats who I thought it was as well, I'm trying to remember if Test did do a major facial/hair makeover. And that book did come out at a point where Test, despite having immunity, was let go. -

BTW, message to Scott Keith, from now on tell your publishers to only put generic wrestling images on the covers of your books We know what happened to him Soon after the book came out Austin got turfed from the WWF I'm not sure who that is actually. Spike Dudley, Test (wherever he is at the moment) and Matt Hardy better be worried! -

Heh, that is true with a lot of the IWC's favorites though. They will destroy a Hogan or a HHH or a Nash for various reasons (holding back younger talent, getting jobs for their cronies, nailing the bosses daughter, ect) but it an Angle or a Jericho or an Austin did any of that stuff they hate about they will somehow justify it, i.e. if an IWC favorite was guilty of refusing to do a job the IWC generally says that "Well consider who he was supposed to job to? Would that REALLY be for the best?" -

If I were Vince, I wouldn't apologize on tv since they didn't know. Maybe a "written" statement on the website at most, but I think the people who called up about the tribute are surely idiots to begin with. Exaclty, what else could they do? They couldn't continue with the whole "Mr. McMahon Is Dead" angle, and if they did a regular show (minus the McMahon "memorial service" of course) or ran a best-of the same people (before ANY info was released) would be chastizing them for NOT doing some sort of tribute even if they decided to wait out to see what the facts in the case were. -

Yes they would be riding him as hard for making the child an orphan. I can see why though, I mean its still a 7 year old kid with a long, long life ahead of him. There is always a sense to make the murder of children that much more henious than an adult for whatever reasons. Probably strikes too much of a nerve, especially considering he was Benoit's own son. -

I'm sorry, but who the F is the WWE trying to kid with this? Okay maybe Benoit cycled off in April and this weekend, but come on. Has there been a "postive" test (for steriods and performance enhancers) in the history of the WWF/WWE's "testing program" -

Completely OT, but thats what the Imus supports say about Don Imus, doesn't excuse all the reasons why people think he is Satan. -
To be fair it had been a long time since she was on TV on a regular basis. I think her last apperance was for the Benoit-Sullivan "Loser Leaves Town" match Granted there are vintage ECW fans here as well as WCW early nWo era fans here (the time frame where she last worked) but for the most part it was "long ago" in some respects. BTW, her, Pillman, Benoit, Henning, and Miss Elizabeth (both she and Woman came aboard as managers during the Benoit/Pillman time frame I believe), I believe are the only official Horsemen members no longer alive.

The topic is buried somewhere on page ten, but the nation just went through an extreme example of what happens when the media "jumps the gun" and pressumes gult, and granted this seems more black & white than that one did, but lets not forget the Duke Lacrosse case. BTW, couple key differences as to why the WWE goes all Soviet Union on something like this (and to the same degree Duke and the NCAA with the exception of the Big Two mens hoops and football) and the NFL (Lewis, Pacman, ect) the NBA (Kobe) and even MLB (Everyone (including Joe Jackson) except for Pete Rose) is that A) the WWE is a private entity (publicly owned but still) while sports leagues have too many moving parts going on. Does Godell have the right to tell Woody Johnson how to promote and treat his player if a Jet did something henious? No not really. They are under the same umbrella but if Johnson declares that he considers player A innocent he will march him out for apperances and such and act like nothing happened. and B) the union in the NBA/NHL/MLB/NFL would have a field day if one of their members suddenly lost their right to earn on merchandise revenue and other streams based on promotion of the league, team and player(even posthumously in this case, probably arguing for the players' estate and/or surviving family members) because of said henious act. BTW a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago someone posted about Benoit's chances of making the WWE's HOF, considering Jimmy Snuka is in and what happened with him. I know there are whispers and allegations that he killed that woman in the hotel room, but was anything ever substantiated? -

Good point, imagine if they still pulled off the Mr. McMahon tribute crapfest? People would be wishing the real Vince had died in that explosion! -

No, but considering all this news is coming out as Raw is airing I doubt Vince knew much more than we did when the decision was made to dump the original format -

Why is that? He was good worker, is that why? He always shown a hot temper and while JBL played it off as cute, Benoit has a history of a short fuse. The LAST person I'd suspect would be Spike Dudley. Then I'll suspect every NFL player of murder. I mean for the most part they have hot tempers and short fuses. Most pro-wrestlers/pro-boxers have those issues, and in wrestling its part of the "act" and in Benoit's case it was the "Silent But Violent" gimmick that he had. -

WOW! Is it wrong that I chuckled at that? Not to veer too much off topic, and I know Chris and Sullivan hated each other till, well, today, (Hell Sullivan was the "final straw" that sent Benoit to the WWF) but I wonder if Kevin and Nancy "patched" things up? -

No its just that at the stage where the public (that would be us) are just getting information trickling in from various outlets its hard to know for sure which is true and which is some BS. Yes signs are pointing towards Benoit being a murderer, but for crying out loud, Norm McDonald didn't start his OJ barrage the week of the murders. -
