They sort of did when HHH and Steph did an episode of Heat Steph explained away alot about that night (Summer Slam) I wonder if they should revisit it, considering how well actual parings of married wrestlers end up (i.e. Chris Benoit-Nancy Sullivan, Austin-Debra, ect) it can get pretty dicey Plus the writers and Kurt know who Steph is married to... Nothing really led to him becoming the Bikertaker, he was gone before Unforgiven 1999 and next thing ya know, it's JD2000 and he's the Bikertaker. No explanation given that I know of. As for HHH, I believe he switched themes in late 2000 and has used that ever since. Last few weeks before going on the shelf Taker was so badly injured that he was taking to wearing jeans as part of his attire, even in-ring So I guess he decided to make it his gimmick when he returned

Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels Late 97
Steve J. Rogers replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
Sadly the nWo STAYED heels, even as the Wolfpac they kind of remained tweeners where they'd face heels and faces (i.e. DDP never joined the Wolfpac) But there is late 90's-early 00's WCW booking for ya Steve -
Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels Late 97
Steve J. Rogers replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
I think thats referencing A) Shawn taking ALL the heel heat for "turning" on Undertaker at Summer Slam, in other words, stealing all the spotlight from Bret, which caused HBK to turn heel, start D-X, ect. The Champ was no longer in the limelight B) Bret stated in the documentary that he thought Bret's turning on the US made him forever an "unmarketable" face in the US, or the WWF wanted to ruin his chances of succeeding as a face if he should go south. Last line of the piece (and this was finished I guess sometime before he started fulltime in WCW) says how the WWF had "killed the "Hitman" character" And while I blame the shoddy booking in WCW for all the face-heel turns by Bret, the point is Bret Hart felt he could no longer reach the heights of popularity as a face again thanks to the "Anti-US" push Steve -
Todd Pettengill does MC work for the NYPD Emerald Society Pipes And Drums memorial concert held every September since 9/11 Well I was there last weekend and somehow resisted the urge to shout "HEY TOAD PEDOPHILLE" or any other creative name recappers have called him over the years Sadly I'm sure I would have been the only one who knew of his WWF days! He did some rather poor MC humor about getting a parking ticket despite being surrounding by cops. Also Ronan Tynan (The Irish Tenor) was delayed so he had to do some more "comic stylings) Steve

????????????????? Unless you mean NBC aired one of "The Seinfeld Chronicles" shows (first handfull of shows as Seinfeld started as a summer "tryout") during the height of the show's popularity, because ever episode produced aired. Probably cut up in syndication which is why you don't see Jerry's stand up that introed even the act break! Steve

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
Steve J. Rogers replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
Lets see, what hasn't been discussed yet.... Hmmm: Which BTVS would you liked to have seen on Angel that wasn't My pick would be Xander. So anti-Angel I'd like to see that dynamic, especially when regular Cordy was still around. I'd say put him in S3 Angel We had Buffy vs Dracula, would you have liked to have seen Angel vs Dracula at some point Spike and Drac had a run-in so it would stand to reason Angelus had dealings with the Dark Prince. Could have worked that into a flashback sequence -

The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread

Hey here is a theory about "did Angel REALLY sign away his Shanshu prophesey?" Think about it for a second, "The Vampire With A Soul's" name really is "Liam" no questions asked right? Angelus was always a nickname, the way Spike was a nickname for "William The Bloddy" and Angel shortened it to Angel, I guess as part of his "breaking away from his past" and he didn't want to frighten anyone if he said his name was "Angelus" So, on a legally binding contract, who in their right mind are EVER going to sign with a nickname? And a shortened version of the nickname at that? Is that even CONSIDERED a legal document? Oh I don't think so! So what does Angel sign as as he signs away the Shanshu? "Angel" Maybe I'm just grapsing at straws, who knows... Steve -
BTW, on the ESPN Radio version of the countdown (read by Chris Berman) its mentioned that despite missing the cut, she "beat 14 men" Now it'd be one thing if she missed the cut by a small margin, or placed, I don't know, in the 20's, and OBVIOUSLY they aren't going to mention WHAT place she finished but do you HAVE to mention how many guys she placed ahead of? Come to think of it, those 14 guys probably are on suicide watch! Please, a Top 50 moment? Again, yes if she breaks the top 30, 20 or plays on Sunday but when it gets right down to it, ANYONE can have such a good day that they can finish a tourney 15th to last in a tournament Steve

Yeah, I love how no matter how HARD THEY try Bonds is always going to be a "I don't give a crap" kind of guy Maybe he softens up in old age ala Williams (though TECHNICALLY he was still an orney bastard) who knows By the way, should add Grant Hill on that list, probably the best of the "Next Jordans" besides "King James" and he still blew it thanks to injuries! That PPV was done LONG after that heel turn, and way before JR's heel announcer turn about a year and a half later though

I think the problem also is that Spidey's classic rouges rarely show up now in current continuity. Sure Spectacular just had Venom, Green Goblin, Lizard and Doc Ock show up recently but over at Amazing they've only had Doc Ock in the current writer's run, and that was essentially a glorified cameo to service the real bad guy of the arc (I'm not counting the Ultimate Universe) Therefore to most causal fans it seems that with the exception of Venom, there hasn't been too many legendary villians created since Lee ended his run and that they haven't shown up since that time frame either Steve

Are you sure its not just a down cycle in terms of users on-line. I may be wrong, but doesn't the amount of users dip significantly when schools are out during the summer months for any file sharing program? Steve

Honestly, mp3dowloading.com or whatever WINMX is downloaded from has all the "other spellings" for Kazaa so I THOUGHT I was getting Kazaa ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH Oh well... Steve
-
BTW, essentially I'm stocking a new computer I bought back in January, throwing CDs onto my Real Player, downloading Kazaa and Napster, ect. Had both on my old one, let the subscriptions run out and re-do everything. So much fun... Steve
-
Yeah, but its just funny that it can be accessed from all Kazaa's "alternative spellings" Quite sneaky of them... Steve
-
Whats the difference between regular Kazaa and Kazaa light? Just curious as I'm usually a "Just me the whole kit plus kaboddle" kind of guy with programs and such Steve

Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.
Steve J. Rogers replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Interesting tidbit I heard from a friend, who has a friend that was at an NYU party that Mary-Kate Olsen was at, and this guy said he saw her do coke on the bar! Therefore, annorexia is a cover up for drug rehab Who knows though, the guy may have seen someone who LOOKS like an Olsen twin Steve -

Uh, how do you know this? Are you A) related or B) one of their people? No I don't think so I seriously doubt Ashley was going to spill on her sister either to the Star or Enquirer or something like that You don't even know if Ashley said "As soon as we get out of college YOU are going to rehab for this, you NEED HELP" But if she was clueless, then yes, she must be the most clueless, in denial person this side of family members of serial killers! The Article that cost Luger the WWF Belt
Steve J. Rogers replied to cawthon777's topic in General Wrestling
Even though it wouldn't get as bad as it is today with the 12 PPVs a year, wrestling "history" was still pretty much "buildup to event" only, if it was worth mentioning they'd probably mentioned it. The buildup and focus was more Luger-Hart due to the finish at the Royal Rumble That could also have been why they wanted the Hart-Hart matchup so they could hype the main event (yeah I know you can't get any more buys once the show begins, but for future broadcasts and the video tape edition) as "These two men are in their SECOND grueling match of the night! OH MY GOD!" Steve -
The Article that cost Luger the WWF Belt
Steve J. Rogers replied to cawthon777's topic in General Wrestling
I take that part if the piece with a grain of salt. What would have happened in that scenario, logically speaking, was to have Perfect screw Luger out of the belt but I don't think Bret would have been involved in the screwing. Consider the source as well, I doubt the reporter knew anything about what was currently going on in wrestling, and heard Mr. Perfect would have a hand in Bret getting the belt figured they were supposed to be in cahoots -
HIAC II at KOR 98 comes to mind. HIAC at WM XV, Kennel from Hell... I guess it has to do with who is in the match... Steve

Fox is allready running promos hyping Clemens-Piazza as the potential NL ASG battery Of course thats Fox's retarded promo department. Thank GOD it was local when the Mets and Astros played last month in Houston is all I have to say about the way Fox over overhypes its games Steve
