The real disgusting part about that was this, the Nitro after he died Tony mentioned it but Larry didn't want to say anything "in respect to his family" Basically staying in character. Granted he did die rather stupidly in a drug OD but that was not the way to go for Larry Legend Steve

    Super Bowl Streaker Fan Site.

What I want to know is, if someone can streak in a Super Bowl, what the hell is to stop someone from running on to the field next year with a bomb strapped to himself? Or a gun, or worse We are getting to the point where stadium fields will be covered with a plexiglass barrier or something that is either completely domed or some 10-15 feet high that ensures that once you scale it security will be all over you Steve

Talk football in the SB thread, halftime show here

Jus a quick note on how far these Half Time shows have come from, this weekend the New York Times did a story on Super Bowl Halftime shows, and one photo accompinging it was a picture of Broadway singer Carol Channing at the 1970 Super Bowl, actually just on the field with a marching band behind her (probably on her way to a microphone set up) probably singing her signature "Hello Dolly" Note, I don't recall where it was but she was wearing an overcoat and sweater in the picture Steve

    Was there a Heat tonight?

I didn't look for spoiler info with Raw reports Granted Heat isn't exactly burning things up (no pun intended) but was there a Heat tonight? Steve

    Was there a Heat tonight?

Okay, think about it for a second. Its one thing to bring in guys like Rod "He Hate Me" Smart and announcers like Sarigussa (who ripped the NFL to shreads) but is Commadant Tagliabue gonna hand over the Halftime show of the Super Bowl to the WWE who made the worst attempt ever at an "alternative second league" to the NFL? Not only that, the same folks who blasted the NFL at every opportunity? I don't bloddy think so

    Was there a Heat tonight?

I miss Halftime Heat! Those were FUN! First one was Foley-Rock Empty Arena Next year they did an Austin interview, his first apperance since the SS "incident" Then CBS/MTV did the Super Bowl in 2000 meaning Heat was regulated to its normal B-Show fare I guess WWF just scrapped the whole idea since Too bad Steve

    Was there a Heat tonight?

Christian over Lance Storm Jindrak and Cade over Rosey and Hurricane Booker T over Matt Hardy Doesn't even say if there were any in-between match stuff (does Heat have them any more that isn't Raw recaps/previews?) Glad that goes down as a WW (wasn't watching) Steve

Well, so have I, I just crusied over to the folder to see if there was a thread by the few US wrestling fans who A) aren't football fans and couldn't care less and B) are members of the fourm! Oh well Steve

Oh really? Tell that to U2 I didn't follow the politics of that, but my guess is that whomever is sponsoring this didn't feel that this was the year for political statements. Bono should have done it in 2002 when he had the chance! No, the NFL told MTV and AOL they did not want U2 at halftime as they didn't feel they should be using it to make a political statement MTV and AOL approved the appearance. Okay, I stand corrected. Don't ask how MJ would slip past them though, if MJ is in fact the surprise

That is the sad part of Viacom owning both CBS and Spike TV The first year that MTV took over Heat CBS had the Super Bowl so they didn't do it that year, and I guess WWE just dropped the whole concept since Real shame Steve

Probably pretty good. The question is though, how pissed will the NFL and Commadant Tagliabue be when he shows up, and will that change future Super Bowl half time extravaganzas Quite an interesting question, not for this thread but down the road I'd think Basically Half Time is not in the NFL's hands, its AOL or whomever is sponsoring/televising the darn thing and I guess they gave Puff Daddy, Janet and Kid ROck free reign

    2004 Hall of Fame Class

he and "Bullet" Bob Hayes Diito with George Young and Harry Carson Carson got so pissed he apparantly asked to be removed from further consideration. Hearing alot of NY sports radio hosts saying that Carson is knocked because he played on the same teams with Lawrence Taylor and that the logic there is faulty because Carson was a multiple time Pro Bowler before LT was drafted

Songs defined by a certain spot......

The instrumental rift at the end of Derek & The Dominoes's "Layla" (not seen on any of Clapton's redos of that song over the years) used in "Goodfellas" also the New York Mets radio network used it as the bridge underneath the announcer heading into the first break after the Mets lost a game Opening gutiar rifts like Beatles "I Feel Fine" the Stones and "Satisfaction", something about "Satisfaction" that I always wonder is if Paul McCartney intended to create the same thing with his song "Jet" which has the same kind of push to it, though more people obviously know Satisfaction than Jet, like more people like the Rolling Stones than Wings... Not so much one song, but one sound clearly defines an artist and thats the Johnny Cash signature rift.

    It's Over...

Actually there is more than that. She definatly has a serial bride thing going. Whatever, the point is that she's not the first celebrity to do such things and she won't be the last. It's just stupid to rake her over the coals like she's the only one doing it in Holywood. Besides being married once(Judd) and engaged once(Affleck) doesn't make her a "serial bride". She also is easy to knock though. Someone who goes through boyfriends and fiances like they were tissues Someone who craves the spotlight like it was a drug Someone who likes to portray herself as a "down to earth Jenny from the Block" when in reality she is a complete Hollywood diva Someone who has literally no sense of reality Sure she isn't the only diva who does this (and obviously it goes without saying that there are plenty in the male gender who are this way) but she does get alot more attention (mostly because she is a media whore) than others I think its all about deconstructing someone who built herself up a certain way but has since proven that all she had was a house of cards, and she doesn't realize it. In otherwords, keep trying to give her a reality check that what she does ISN'T right, and showing people who worship her that "Look at this piece of trash that you idolize, she is nothing but a piece of shit" Steve

    Giants Jesse Palmer next Bachelor

Just saw in the article that Palmer was in his final year. Well I guess this seals his fate... Steve

    Giants Jesse Palmer next Bachelor

Haven't heard the main sports radio station in NYC, WFAN 660 AM, talk about it, but the other station, 1050 AM ESPN Radio's resident Giant fan, Don LaGreca, was ripping Palmer for this. Basically you need to know a few points: 1. Many Giants, as with all teams, do local TV shows, radio shows, TV comercials, radio comercials, and even national ones, 2. Certain extreme members of the fan base, i.e. LaGreca, feel that this is not stuff that a team that finished 4-12, and quit the last half of the season should be doing 3. New coach, Tom Coughlin has already stated stricter rules on team media apperances (i.e. nothing after Wednesdays) policies which fans like LaGreca applauded. And granted this is the backup, and not exactly a high profile one (i.e. this isn't a Mark Bolger/Kurt Warner type, or even a vet with talent trying to hang on) but it still is something that had this gone down after Coughlin was hired (this was probably all arragned long before the season ended) Palmer would be promoted as an "Former Professional Football Player. Which leaves me to wonder, is Palmer slated to be one of the first cuts in Mini-camp this year? Steve

    It's Over...

Actually there is more than that. She definatly has a serial bride thing going. I agree that the whole relationship and hype was more a media creation than anything that the "public" wanted. Its obvious that she craves attention more than Affleck does I almost feel bad for Jersey Girl and Kevin Smith as most of the "mass pop-culture audience" will see it more of a "Gigli II" than anything Also the other problem is with the "mass pop culture audience" that hates Affleck is that the anti-Affleck/Lopez crowd will distort everything about there relationship Couple of points towards that: Heard on Jim Rome's radio show about how all Affleck films have bombed since hooking up with Lopez, including DareDevil, one problem, DareDevil was made BEFORE Affleck and Lopez first met on the set of Smith's Jersey Girl (See the Smith "An Evening With Kevin Smith" for a funny story about that and one hell of a classic Smith-Affleck punchline) and the other is that people will think Lopez was completly cut out of Jersey Girl despite what the original script (which will be available knowing Kevin Smith and View Askew) and such will bare out and they were only left with stuff that couldn't get cut, as it always stood, Lopez is only in 15 minutes of the film and people will look at that like "Well the movie obviously was editied because Affleck-Smith want nothing to do with Lopez" Whatever though, sure people will believe what they want to believe. I'm sure now the "entertainment media" will try to use the Taylor-Burton angle and drum up something everytime they are in the same room together or some shit. "J-Lo was seen glancing over at Ben Affleck who was in mid converation with Matt Damon at the Golden People's E! Global Academy Choice Awards Dinner...Could Lopez be re-thinking the whole Beneffier affair?" To those stories I say this: Steve

    Bret/HBK, Survivor Series 97

Got to agree with others here, great idea, but in the grand scheme of things, do you want the title to be on a red hot heel going into the "Road To Wrestlemania" that winter, or to what most of the fans saw as a glorified JTTS just for the cheap pop in Canada I'd be for an HBK-Owen-HBK transition during the time between the D-X PPV and WM though Steve
