Worst excuse for a heel turn

Yeah that was pretty funny. It almost seemed more like the WWF turned on Angle rather than the other way around. Was was that line out of JR when Angle came out for the main event promo? King had said that Angle saved everyone's job and Ross said "So what? Does that mean we have to give him a damn parade?"

    Wrestling References

In recent years young girls have been allowed to join the ranks of altar boys and perform duties at masses. Usually the alter boys, along with people who perform duties at masses, get their names announced before the mass begins, so in an effort to be PC and all, the term "acolyte" is now used to describe altar boys and altar girls. First time I heard it, I wondered if Farrooq and Bradshaw would be coming out!

The last week of the NFL season.

Better question, since the '72 Dolphins and their fans tend to add the postseason totals to the Perfect Season, does that mean, and it doesn't have to be in the Divisional Round, they still lay to their claim as the "only "true" unbeaten team in modern NFL history" despite sharing the "Perfect Regular Season" title with the 2007 Pats?

NFL Week 14 - Dolphins? More like LOLphins! Amirite?

You have a problem with the Colts?

NFL Week 14 - Dolphins? More like LOLphins! Amirite?

Course the difference is most of America in terms of fans (except for division rival fans and Baltimore in the Colts case of course) and the media were rooting for both of those teams while the Pats are only beloved by their fans and media. I haven't listened in a while, but this might be the first time Jim Rome is ROOTING for the 72 Fish to do their champagne popping ceremony when the Pats lose their first game of the year.

NFL Week 14 - Dolphins? More like LOLphins! Amirite?

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO want both Pats and Fish streaks to continue next week, only for the chance that the Fish could be the ones to get their 1972 fore fathers to pop those champagne bottles. Course the Giants need the win the last game of the year, so why not the G-Men.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

That's a fair criticism. There are hundreds of qualified sportscasters and such who are excluded from the voting process. While some sportscasters get to vote for the veterans' committee, that's a small honor reserved for a small number of observers. There are far more good baseball viewers than just the BBWAA. Oh I agree it is a fair criticism, but the way Kiper said it, it made it seem Vin Scully had never in his life ever been asked to vote for the HOF, and while that is true for the front door (BBWAA), is not true for the side and back entrances.

    MLB Off-season Thread

Usually they wait until they win a World Series to trade away the team's best players. They've only done that twice in like ten years, so how come that didn't raise the warning flag before? Who knows, maybe its because its both Cabrera and Willis in the same deal rather than piece-by-piece. Plus you can argue on some of those deals they got major league talent rather than straight prospects.

ESPN sucks, so do thread closers

Another example of laziness on the part of general sports show hosts. This week there was a controversy over the Baseball Writers Association of America saying that they would no longer vote for any player with a clause in their contract when it comes to their awards starting with 2013 (IIRC) later in the week they backed down from their stance and rescinded it entirely. Well, ESPN Radio's Game Day hosts were just talking about the Heisman voting and mentioned the story, only using the major headline, and not the fact that it was rescinded. They also brought up Curt Schilling, but only in terms of what his clause states, and not in that it was his blog entry that started the whole controversy. Also I think Mel Kiper Jr. talked about how in the HOF voting someone like Vin Scully doesn't get a vote. Uh Mel, Vin did have a vote as part of the newly designed Veterans Committee (though I don't know if he and his fellow Frick and Spink winners still vote in the player elections now that they've split the categories) and he wasn't challenged. And IIRC Scully was a member of the previous Veterans Committee for a few years as well. I'd have to double check but I'm pretty sure he was on there. Not saying you have to be up on everything little that happens, but if you are going to bring up something in terms of a topic, you better know the rest of the story rather than an outdated version of it.

WWE General Discussion - December 2007

So what the heck changed from then to early this year? So they got around it by telling USA that "Mr. McMahon" was faking his own death?

Why FOX and O'Reilly are scary

My mother watches and listens to Bill O'Reilly religiously, so it came to no surprise that she is leaving her Northeast home at around 63 degrees because that is what O'Reilly "says" he is doing to combat the raise in oil prices. I tried to argue that no one really pays attention to a darn thing he says, but you can't reason with certain people I guess.
