I'm not much of a Boardum guy, but I wanted to go to The Pit last night so that I could make fun of Paul's trip to Yankee Stadium.

I'm still enjoying my Gamecube and DS so much that I'll probably wait a while for the Wii. That way, I can get the verdict on the Wii AND pay a lower price in a few years or so.

Lem's death didn't sadden me as much as it made me pity Shane. Maybe because somewhere in my mind I think that Lem should've expected it.

"The Savage Time" was fantastic. Bobby Ewing's voice! So, what's the story behind them using the lighting strike symbol instead of the swastika? -
When Wondy visits the elderly Steve at the very end of "The Savage Time" storyline. Wow.

The local (statewide, actually) sports show here is bad. This fat guy does it, along with his redneck sidekick. Fuck, they're annoying. For one thing, the fat guy's voice is enough to make you throw your radio out the window. He drags the last voweeeel of everyyyy woooord. People call with questions and he gives them answers that are totally unrelated to the question. Granted, most of the callers are assholes, but come on...

Cream of Wheat is the way to go. Tons of butter and sugar.

They dropped the ball with ST9. It should have been about the Enterprise's role in the Dominion War, perhaps including cameos from a few of the DS9 crew. Instead, they had some dialogue about how the strechy-faced guys were allies of the Dominion.

There aren't too many oldies in the Catoosa resort. There is a loud band in each room.

Yeah, there are chicks in casinos, but what kind of chick depends on where you are. There will always be the nasty white trash types gambling their money away, but some casinos have a lower ratio of those types to the higher class types. The Cherokee Casino chain that Dama is most likely referencing have a casino on the border of AR and OK in West Siloam Springs. It's white trash heaven there. However, the same chain's Catoosa Casino/Resort is much nicer in appearance and clientele. Back in California, we used to hit up this Indian casino in the mountains; it was also frequented by white trash. And Vietnamese. Lots of Vietnamese.

Are you going to the one in Catoosa? That has been a frequent vacation spot of mine since it opened.

Yes, but they need to really shake things up, not go back to the Kirk era and rehash it with different actors. It will come off like the Brady Bunch and Leave it to Beaver movies.

There isn't ENOUGH hype for those books. -
Stupid idiots. I posted my thoughts on the topic in general: http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...t&p=2239797

ToyFare has a two page article on the movie. I don't think they revealed anything that we didn't already know. Megatron is a jet, Soundwave will stand less than five feet tall as a robot, etc. Bernie Mac apparently plays a used car salesman who sells Bumblebee to Sparkplug. And Jon Voight's in the film. Bernie: You need this car! Sparkplug: I don't know... Bernie: Come on...Jon Voight used to own this car.

We used to be able to chow down at our work stations, up until a competitor down the street was shut down for having a rodent "infestation." They found like one dead mouse. Anyways, it's pretty stupid because the breakrooms are closer to production than the front office area, and there is a lot of food in the breakrooms. Whatever. Everyone does it, anyways. I never feel like going out for lunch. The only time I do so is when I don't have a lunch and if the cafeteria is serving shit, which is usually the case.

Well, what did everybody think of #0? I remembered some of the flashbacks/flashforwards, but some of it was a bit confusing. Otherwise, it was pretty good on the emotional level. I think, more than anything, this was just an issue to set things up and to build some hype, as there weren't any storylines started. But that point is pretty obvious. Can someone do a quick breakdown of the events that took place in different time periods?

I wouldn't call it a great book. It was very subpar compared to Allston's earlier Star Wars work. To be honest, I was quite bored through the first third or so. I predicted who the dark figure was right off the bat, so there wasn't any kind of payoff, but the end was very interesting, nonetheless. I may or may not read the next book. I don't know much about the author. I will wait for some reviews. -

Has anybody finished Betrayal by Aaron Allston? -
And really, they say "nigga" a lot, so they don't count.
-
Ha ha, anybody remember Lighter Shade of Brown?
-
Same thing with JMS. Why not just give them Ultimate books?
-
Marvel, too.

I was bullshittin' with Vyce or somebody on AIM the other day and I thought that it would've been cool if they had shown Batman sitting at his computer during the sequence when they were showing everyone reacting to Superman's return. They could have had the cam on the screen, then slowly rotate until it faced Batman, and he could just be sitting there, passive.
